Man that sucks. All that work and money for such a tiny mistake. What if they were on the verge of inviting you, but you had that in the essay and it changed their mind?
 
haha yea i know. tufts was like expensive too (just a guess), but i got an interview from BU so egh. 1 for 2 isnt bad. i think it sucked that i applied md phd and they both had extra essays or some sht
 
I didn't know what I wanted at then. I wasn't on SDN til post-interviews so IDK. Its really hard for the lay pre-med to figure out anything about this process

Agreed, that was me last year. I also hate those MD/PhD essays. They almost always asked about the same things I wrote about in the MD/PhD personal statement.
 
yea, I think people grow a lot during the interview season and looking back I felt like I would tailor my application essays to some of the common interview questions received or the mission statement of schools to stand out a bit. oh well its all good tho.

if people have free time, they should check out the interview feedback section
 
nah they are more entertaining

you are wined and dined the night before and they really take care of you. the med students you meet are most likely in their graduate years, so they aren't as toolish and they are always free to have some fun/enjoy a regular convo. I think MD interview days, you meet med students and its all about this schools this and that and what kinda doctor you want to be BS

Ahhh, alright. A grad student in a lab I used to work in told me some interview dinners will be amazing and super pricey....

She also told me not to get drunk at them. She said it occurs a lot....

So true. I can't believe how little some of the people I talk to who are applying are about this process. I think SDN is a wealth of knowledge, it's just a shame people are embarrassed to say they visit it. I tell all of them they should check it out and I'm guessing 1 in 10 do... Oh well, their loss.

Oh yeah, baby! So, once I shave about 150 characters from my PS I'm going to call it almost done! So much for MCAT... Ha ha. I just couldn't focus on my MCAT with my PS lingering so I cranked it out. 😀

Nah, I'm not really sweating those. They are already done in my CV. I've been working on it for 5 years, so I figure with some minor tweaks my app will be done in no time.

But yeah, the MCAT is my focus atm... Well, I guess not today. I just went to Barnes and Noble and picked up a couple books to read ha ha. So not what I should be doing now, but oh well.

What did you think? I liked X-men quite a bit more than Terminator. I even liked it more than Star Trek... But I'm a pretty big marvel fan, so I'm biased.
 
I didn't like wolverine man, maybe cuz I watched the bootleg pre-cgi version.


I haven't seen star trek (I heard the girl was cute but I don't get the outerspace fantasy stuff) or terminator (the OG versions were one of my favorites and I'm afraid of this ruining it). I do wanna watch TS, but really wanna see the hangover

Why would you watch the pre-cgi version? I like the space sci-fi stuff, but I just didn't think Star Trek lived up to the hype. I have a feeling that a good portion of people who say they liked it so much said it because they thought they were supposed to like it because of the great reviews it got. Don't get me wrong, I thought it was entertaining, but it wasn't great or anything. I would probably give it 3.5 to 4 out of 5 netflix stars.

I love all Marvel movies except for Blade. Definitely waiting for x-men 4 when Magneto gets his power back and Prof X comes back. Love Origins with Remi LeBeau (Gambit) and Deadpool.

Yeah, the new X-men will be great.I can't wait for Iron Man 2 either, I loved the first one.

I actually liked Blade... 😳 I thought it was pretty good. It got a little overdone, but I liked the first 2 and the 3rd one was just eye candy because of Jessica Biel. She has to be the hottest woman on the planet.

Deadpool is the man, though. I agree there as well. What specifically are Gambit's powers? Can he just harness free energy or something?

But you'll still apply to SLU? I mean, I'm applying to SLU also and LSU-New Orleans, but it's really not that bad. Tulane Med and all of the hospitals are in a good area of downtown (it's right across from the Superdome on a super busy street, so not much bad happens there). You also don't need to go through anywhere bad to get to someplace you want to go. Just use the interstate and try not to get lost. Even if you do, you're still fine. NOLA may have the highest murder rate in the country or something like that, but I in reality w/o rankings, it's no worse than parts of LA, Baltimore, Detroit, St. Louis, Philly, or any major city.
 
Emma does have diamond skin. It was an secondary mutation introduced by cassandra nova.

is it just me or when Hugh Jakcman talk in interviews...it's like he has some accent? but in movies, he doesn't at all.

Gambit has the power to detonate. Everything he touch, he can make it explode. He also weilds a staff where he can "staff slam" with energy radiating from it. Pretty cool. I don't understand why they didn't put him in the x-men.

on aside. Rogue sucks in the movie. She can't fly or use super strength.
 
most actors have great voice control. hugh is from australia right? he does have an accent. the guy from house has a huge british accent in real life. the guy from the wire (who was also on the office this season) has a thick real life british accent too.

Ahhh, nice. That's a pretty cool power. I often catch myself in the sciences trying to come up with new powers that could work for a comic strip. I bought the "Manga for Dummies" book as well. Ha ha

Yeah, she is pretty weak. I think her power would be more of a curse than a blessing.

It always amazes me how actors can do that. I couldn't imagine having to talk in a different accent and try to pull of sincerity in a role. Impressive.
