Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I love the Bulldog, but I've only been to the one uptown in NOLA. I've yet to go to the BR one because it's new and I'm waiting for its douchyness to wear off. The crowd is horrible there from what I've heard. A bunch of ******* fratties (no offense anyone, this is the crowd I'm talking about) and sorostitutes that sit at the bar and order BUD LIGHT!!! Why the hell do you order Bud Light at a place that has like 150 beers? That's the reason you go there!

Beer. :barf: I don't know too much about it because I generally don't like hearing how awesomely amazing the Bulldog is when I still can't get into it for another 10 months.

Anyone else's college have a library on campus that is the defacto sorostitute hangout place?

I made the mistake of trying to study at ours the other day. Epic failure.

Well thanks, 0C. You a beer fan?

The Boot is basically the Tulane bar. But mainly for the people that want to go to Tulane and go to high school uptown. I've been a couple of times, it's not that great unless you're in high school. Good pizza, though. Go a couple blocks toward Magazine Street and you have some good stuff.

not really. streakers during finals week, though. hilarious.

LSU's library is only filled with sorostitutes around finals week. They haven't been in the library all semester. I haven't been there to study in almost 3 years.

Unfortunately the few times I have been to New Orleans I haven't been old enough to really enjoy it. Hopefully Tulane gives me an interview 🙂xf🙂 and I can explore then.

We have one lib that is close to "frat row"... soroitutes go there... They don't study however... Most of the time they talk about how they got reamed the night before......

I mean, how they met nice guys who treated them like princesses. 🙄

I think we can hit 300 pages on this thread tonight...

Ambitious.

Yeah. I'm not a library fan either. I studied for the MCAT in there because I didn't always focus at my apt. with the roomies wandering around, but that was only the first 3 weeks of this past semester. Otherwise I stay away.

You're my new best friend, that's great.

I think beer is what the ancient Greeks used to refer to as the nectar of the gods. 😉 You know it, man!

I just tried Smithwicks the other day and, man, if you haven't had that stuff before it is awesome! highly recommended.

I don't hold the greeks to a high standard, I guess it shows.
Well, I'm with you there. It's nice not to be alone in that regard. Going to LSU, or any school in the south, if you're not in with that crowd, you probably hate them. It's even worse at Bama and Ole Piss. Girls go on suicide watch if they don't get into sororities.

that would be wine, not beer.

I've seen it many times but never tried it. Is it like a Guinness stout or what?

It's made by Guinness brewing company, but it's lighter than a Guinness. It's awesome, man. You've got to try it if you like darker beers.

My mouth is watering right now... Mmmmmmmmm

You know, I was supposed to go to sleep almost an hour ago to get up for work at 7:30, but then rock band, and now this thread is happening...
I wonder what my total loss of sleep for the summer will be because of this thread.

that would be wine, not beer.

It would be neither. It would be either whiskey or hurricanes.

What?!?! That's intense. I think we have over 4,000 people who associate with a frat/sorority here but that makes them only about 7-8% of the total student population... Don't see too much of them.

Yeah it's pretty crazy down here. I thought about rushing, but then decided it was a horrible idea.

the lost productivity last semester because of this thread still rankles me.

I love dark beers. I think Guinness is alright, one of those things you need to be in the mood for. I like Harp (also made by Guinness) much more.

in ur cellz, ubiquitinatin'

I just noticed this, and love it.
I actually made a habit of using the word 'ubiquitous' in every paper I wrote in high school. I've tried doing it in college, but I've only written one paper, so it doesn't work too well.

I rushed two different frats then I quit. Lame.

I knew a bunch of people freshman year who rushed.... I think their overal mentalities of frat life really turned me off to it. Don't get me wrong, some kids who go greek are awesome, hardworking people who just like to party every now and then...

Most are not...

Love me some whiskey, either Crown or Jack. Hurricanes are too sweet for me. I'll start barfing from the sugar after 2. If there's decent beer, I'll take that. If not, give me whiskey.

Holy crap! Top!!! Sorry, no picture.

Holy ****. Sierra Nevada is the #1 worst beer I have ever been unlucky enough to put in my mouth.
Love Blue Moon. My favorite beer along with Abita Purple Haze. I agree about the Sierra Nevada. Not a huge fan of pale ales and syrupy beer, but I like most others. Pete's Wicked, Sam Adams. Anyone outside of Louisiana or the south should try and get some Abita. They're a great craft brewery and have probably the best Amber beer I've ever had and a Strawberry Harvest Wheat Lager that everyone marks their calendars for its season.

A local bar around here carries/carried the Abita Strawberry. Is it really good? My girlfriend pretty much hates beer but can stand it with some kind of fruit taste......eh....

I recently bought and tried the last blue moon seasonal. Here is my rankings of all blue moons:

1. Full Moon
2. Blue Moon
3. Rising moon
4. Honey moon
599999999. Harvest moon (3rd worst beer I have ever tried.)

I'm actually drinking a Honey Moon right now.
I prefer Blue, Rising, Full/Honey (depending on weather), never had Harvest

It's funny how you rank worst beers you've tried.

 I love ubiquinase from Cell & Molec. I think I used that in about 4 or 5 college papers. ha ha.

Quitter!!!

Sierra Nevada. Yum.

I just tried their pale ale the other day (It was on special for 2 bucks). It wasn't bad. I wouldn't buy a 6 pack of it, but it is ok.

I feel like I'm the only person on the face of the earth that has had that strawberry beer and didn't like it. But I don't like any beer. Even when I'm drunk and can't really taste much, beer still makes me want to throw up.

I think it's okay, but everybody else drinks it like water. It's basically the only beer that non-beer drinkers can drink. Unless they hate strawberries. The first sip is like eating a strawberry, but after that it's pretty good. I just prefer other things. If I'm going for a fruit beer, I prefer Sam Adams Cherry Wheat. Wheat beers rule...

Dude, Full Moon is the bomb! I got that for all 3 of my free beers at the Coors beer tour. Then I continued to drink it at another bar in Golden. Coors should make that a staple beer, like Blue Moon (which I'm not too fond of). I would become a convert to Coors.

I wouldn't mind trying the Honey moon though. That sounds tasty.

Whenever I go out and a beer is on tap I've never had I order it, so I've tried a few...I don't rank the mediocre ones but sure do rank the awful ones... Don't want to ever try those again and it helps me explain to people how bad a certain beer is....
