lol cant believe i got top accidentally..yay =)

I was going by the MSAR book, by the range of their mcat scores and how many OOS applicants they interviewed...

with a 26P and 3.5 I barely have much of a shot but I just want to make sure that I am not missing out on any schools that I may have a small chance at..

which ones would you advise against?

i will add drexel..temple and jefferson to my list and maybe cut out some midwest ones..

I think it becomes very difficult with a 26 for a lot of those schools. You might want to reconsider your list, and possibly add a DO or two over the Caribbean school. If you look at match percentage DO's are only about 2% lower than MD and for the competitive specialties, but once you go to the Caribbean your chances of a US residency drop to or below 50%.

Just a suggestion. I think I'm going to throw a DO app out this year as well.

have I missed any low to mid tier school in the east coast? I know there are some reaches in here but I just want to give myself a chance!! planning to submit tomorrow and im so nervous!! any advice? i was going to apply to about 30..​

Hey Simran,
I would probably get rid of Alabama and Arkansas since I don't think they accept many out of staters. I'd also add albany med, SUNY buffalo, and SUNY upstate. I would definitely add a couple DO too, especially VCOM since youre a VA resident and it's a great school. Good luck!

yes do not apply PR schools unless you are fleunt in both reading and writing in spanish. That is a pre req for all those schools. Classes will be in spanish also. Dont waste time applying there. They have really low gpa and mcat values for that reason, but it doesnt mean that you are competitive there with a 26 if you cant speak spanish well.
