Well, she's being ridiculous. If you have a picture of her we might be able to work something out.

While that does really suck, the thing I find ridiculous about it is that your school won't just pay for whatever the cost is. (Or your PI...He has a grant, right?)

Yeah, that's what my school did. They flew me out to AZ and UT, and paid for all my expenses. We stayed in nice ass hotels too.

You should if you did the work for a PI. If you were part of a school club/group I think you will be fighting an uphill battle there.

Yeah, I think that's the problem. It was part of a class not like a research job. He was the one that talked to the department and got us the money to start with.

This project was part of a class. But I do work for the same PI and I get paid. Well technically it's a scholarship that offers me research experience. But I still get monies.

I wish I could just get her to realize that she's being absolutely ridiculous. It's mono. She can't catch it from being around me.

Your situation makes more sense now. Your PI probably is not going to want to shell out extra for that.

What if you search pubmed, find some random articles that support your cause, print them, and hook her up.
