Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Elijah, we clearly picked schools via different methods. The very first thing I looked at for any school was location. My list of schools features nothing in the Midwest except Michigan, nothing in the South except Vanderbilt, and nothing more than 90 minutes from water except for Penn State. I scratched out upstate New York real quick.
ahha dude if i had your mcat i totally would have chosen schools based on how you did. Sadly my scores dont afford me the luxary of choosing to not live in pos areas like upstate ny and a large portion of the midwest.

Vandy isn't even that far south. I'd try to argue that it isn't in the South, but I'd be wrong. My definition of the South is skewed. I've convinced myself that northern Louisiana cities aren't in the South either.

And some poor schmuck has a one word reply waiting on one window with updates occuring on the other...

There are a few schools in good areas that don't require outrageous stats. Even USC has fairly lax averages according to the MSAR. It is really unfortunate that the schools in the best locations are the ones that have the most ridiculous requirements 🙁

ugh you and you definition of the south😛. To us in cali and most places not in the dirty south like LA and georgia, TN is the south 🙂

Pushing the group on toward the goal.

The ever elusive 20K....

South is south of the Mason-Dixon.

Deep south is the south, just deeper. 👍

Vandy plays in the SEC. Pretty sure that right there qualifies it as the South.

This is the same argument I used to refute the fact that UNC and Wake Forest are the South, haha.

ahah thats not surprising though dude. Its like omg shocked the best paying residencies or ones with best hours are the most popular, who would have thought. And i still applied to all the nice schools to 🙂, i did like 47 schools lol so i got to put in nice ones like you and ****ty ones for backup😛

Bleh. Lame argument. They just wish they were in the South.

Also, I now have more posts than Spursy. I am the better mod in all ways now.

ugh i'm ready for 20K just so the ridiculous pace will slow down and i'll be able to keep up again.

I wasnt saying it was true, just thats my preconceived notion having never been there. 🙂

When I think of Wake Forest, I think that's pretty far north for me. And Vermont, well, don't people from New England think that's pretty far north? Enough said, I probably wouldn't make it there. I'd freeze to death. But it's a good school.

Bluegrass started in Nashville. They host the Country Music Awards there. It's totally the South.

yeah, burlington is up there. but i love "up there." i can't stand warm weather! i need horrible, terrible, icy winters!

accoridng to kissme only LA is the south 😛
Pffff...Mississippi is more South than Louisiana. They still fly Confederate flags there and are convinced that the South Will Rise Again. It was terrifying.

I believe ksmi used her mod powers and is currently modifying it to make it the best 20,000th ever. I'm glad this will slow down a little, though. My whole body is slowed down from the Popeye's.

If I'm not mistaken, Columbia's med school campus is in/close to Harlem. If they take me, though, I'd def go in a heartbeat - Harlem, here I come!

Its been real peeps.

400 posts, top of page 400, a palendrome, and helping the group get to 20K?

Good day 👍

Well, culturally, all of Louisiana is more southern than New Orleans. New Orleans is just so unique that you can't really classify it. But when you get north of Baton Rouge and the Cajun country of Lafayette, you get the Baptist Bible Belt and it's reallly southern. North Louisiana is very "southern" in culture and is completely different than south Louisiana.
