Holy crap, this one person in our class applied to 70 freaking schools. Wow.

Good lord! And she has great EC's, but her issue is that she's an international applicant. I don't know how much harder it is as an IA, but I'm guessing she'll get quite a few acceptances this year. She already has ~5 interviews.

Dude, if I could afford it I would apply to all of them. That would take the guesswork out of the equation. You would never have to wonder if you would have gotten in somewhere else.

Plus, you could tell your grandchildren that you got >30 acceptances to medical school. ha ha.

lol jackass 😛...you already know how many im aplpying to 🙂. 70 is sick even if u are international are there even 70 schools that take international apps? It makes no sense...i mean i applied to 47 and there are probably 10 schools on my list that I have no real shot at but i just threw in for reasons that I no longer understand, like UCSF, mayo, case western, univ nebraska, etc.

My guess? The medical application process has a random/luck aspect to it and throwing in those schools allows you to play on that luck...?

Man it's slow this evening. Where is everyone?

It's another late Friday night in the lab for me! Sigh. At least my ok sent in a mayo ratings sheet I just gave him today. Before I could finish telling him what it was for he was already filling it out. Haha

taking an online class is not as easy as i had hoped, last assignment though, freaking took me 4 hours
i got so pissed i just started listening to 'i smoke, i drink' by youngbloodz ft roy jones jr, highly recommended if your angry.
time to erase those 4 hours from my memory, have a good night people
 
o ya, didn't feel like reading through the last 10 pages, but live it up steinumstein/everyone else who got an interview today!

Mine's actually a lecture class. I hate it. Summer school sucks.
 
Where is everyone? Just got back from coaching. It was fun. I wish I had time to coach during the year, but I've got my own rehearsals to go to.

Congrats!! That's kind of a fun time to get an interview, now you can immediately go and celebrate. 😀

I'm going out tomorrow night with friends from high school, so tonight I'm staying home and chillin'. 😛 Trying to figure out what kind of garment bag to get to carry on while flying, anybody buy anything yet for interviews?
 
that's an interesting questions, what do the guys bring to interview? a briefcase? idk what to carry things in

A big purse/bag thing. Sorry I'm not much help for the guys. One of those folio things? Maybe not a zippy one, but this is what I'd do if I were a guy.

All of them I went to gave us at minimum a folder to keep their papers in, some even gave us bags.

I didn't bring much beyond a pen, but I did see alot of people with those leather folder thingys.

what about those interviews that says there will be extensive walking outside please dress accordingly? not really planning on weariing nothing else besides a suit lol

Haha I know that one! Pitt has what must be the longest tour in history. I packed an umbrela just in case, but there was good weather so I left it in the car.

I just walked in my dress shoes for the tour, I could see where it would be uncomfortable if the shoes aren't broken in any, since pittsburgh is a hilly city and they do have you do a bunch of walking.

So I was expecting a lot more of my schools to start giving out interviews this week. I think 3 more started, but they have not seen much posting action for feedback on invites. There's just two I'm waiting on in particular...
But now I have a crappy weekend of work, at least I was off today. It feels like I didn't have it off today because I moved. I'm lucky I didn't die, the car I used today started smoking. :scared:
