And it's not like I'm only mean to you; I'm mean to lots of people, like Caesar, pingouin, Compass, JimmerJammerMrK... do I like them too?

Maybe they have, but it's sure not as common. And you aren't mean to pingouin (you are mean to Caesar and pinguion just happens to like the same baseball team), the rest are boys, so no, people aren't gonna say that you like them too. And you are more mean to me than anyone else.
 
In an alternate universe somewhere I'd like to see all the major posters from this thread in one room, no prior introductions and nobody knows who is which poster, and just watch you guys interact. It would be fascinating. :laugh:

That would be quite fascinating. I met 6 SDNers this past weekend and that was fun, but it wasn't like I didn't know who they were.

Hey guys, I was just wondering, to answer the interview question "why do you want to be a doctor?" I know it's cliche to say the main reasons are "it's because I love the sciences and I love to help people", but what if that is my main reasons, of course I have some examples to back that up but I'm just wondering what y'all think

I kind of didn't want to change at first, but they were really large...

I am interested to see how many people add them to their profile. I have a strictly SDN one that I am using to post blog updates / share articles / say what ever I feel like saying on.

just got into Santa Barbara today. already been to the beach and the hotel's pool...thinking about going to the hot tub... and trying to find as much women as possible

on a side note, that Sportscenter Jordan thing they just did was bonkers. man that guy was the best.
 
whenever i read someone replying to someone else "don't worry about your rejection from ____, you'll get in somewhere. it's all a crapshoot," it makes me want to throw something. let people worry. this is the rest of their lives we're talking about here. they have a right to express emotion when they get a rejection.

and in regards to the crapshoot comment...i think schools look for specific things and it's our job to do research on the schools and see which ones fit/look for candidates like us. then choose wisely. thats a reason why we have the MSAR, right?

one last rant before i head to sleep...

this hotel is the taunting me with those bottled waters in my room. they have those tags saying if i open it, its $5...so i try to go to the vending machine for a water, i only have $1.55, a water is $1.75. sooo. thirsty. FML.

I'm sure the applicant feels bad enough without random personalities on an internet message boarding telling them to proceed freaking the **** out. 👍

I agree with your first part, but not the second. Sure we can do our research, but who's to say who is initially going to review your application. Maybe they like you and maybe they don't, or in your interview, maybe you get a person you will click with and maybe you don't. Or maybe your application just get lost...

I hate to break it to you, but it's still a crapshoot. Sure some things help, but really at the end of the day some people who are very qualified to become doctors get in and sometimes they don't.

We can't count the thread as dying if it's Labor day. It's basically another Sunday. No one's at work sitting in front of their computer today.

its school time, people are interviewing, we dont have time to be on here like we were during the summer.

itll come back again once people settle down into a routine. i know im gonna schedule sdn time into my weekly schedule 🙂
