my rejections have been pritzker and WFU

i am trying to keep it in perspective. a year or two ago i was thinking how completely miraculous it would be if i could even get into one medical school at all, ever. and now it's still so early- september- and i'm jealous of everyone with all their interviews 🙄 i am trying to keep it in check though and just relax.

and people say it all the time and argue about whether its true, but i KNOW that sdn- particularly people in this thread- do not represent typical applicants, they are the kick-ass best. (you know who you are :laugh:) and just because they get twelve interviews now doesn't mean i can't still get some later. i mean, they have to start withdrawing from schools sometime, right??

so congrats again to everyone with their interviews, i hope you get some good news in october, i am sure you all will!

Schools would be stupid to not let you in with all your stuff, you'll get some eventually when the timing is no longer an issue.
 
G'mornin!

Crunching through Biochem chapters so that hopefully I'll just need a quick review when I come back home this Sunday. 🙁

I'm not friends with anyone here on Facebook, but I guess I'm kinda cool with that. I kinda like to stay anonymous... maybe when this cycle is over...

I'm feeling much better than I was this morning, but I'm still sleepy.

Who has interviews this/next week? I keep forgetting who is going where when. I'm a horrid e-friend. 🙁
 
My school's committee packet arrived at AMCAS today!!! Finally! Now, hopefully I'll have a few more "complete" statuses and maybe an interview invite this week 🙂 !!!

haha you're a good e-friend! it's impossible to keep up with everyone (which is a good thing because it means we have lots of interviews🙂)

i have vermont tomorrow, wake forest fri, and penn state monday!

I've got one next friday at Carolina. I was supposed to interview w/ Jackson @ PSU, but I have to manage a New Hire Orientation that day and give a presentation to like ~100 people instead 🙄

You're totally not a horrid e-friend. You remember to ask. I honestly have no idea how you manage so much stuff. 😳

I have my first on Friday. I'm starting to get nervous, but not necessarily because of the interview, but because of the two papers, quizzes and two tests I have due within the first two days of getting back to school.

so when i picked the little girl that i nanny for up from preschool today, i was trying to explain to her that i wouldnt be the one picking her up the next few days since ill be at interviews. i told her that i have to go look at different schools and that next year ill be at school just like her. her response was "but big girls dont go to school silly!"...so adorable🙂
 
Well, I'm going to have to cancel for the Tulane party if anyone is still planning on that. They rejected me today 🙁.
 
Hmm. Albany just emailed me back about why I haven't been marked complete yet.

"The AAMC has not yet forwarded the hard copies of the MCAT scores for applicants who took the 7/31/09 MCAT. When we receive the hard copy of the MCAT, we will make your file complete."

Hard copy? First I've heard of this .. and a bit odd since a big bulk of my other schools have had me marked complete for weeks. Whatever.

Yeah. Whateverrrr... Off to eat pizza with my "pregnant again" sister.

Apparently they "didn't see it the first time" and told her she lost the baby. She went again today and they saw everything fine... only after she's been crying for 2 week. 🙄

Isn't it crappy how school does that? I've had something graded due in at least one of my classes everyday since Tuesday all through next Wednesday. Of course, this all happens for me to sandwich one the busier weekends of life in between it:

Drive to Houston, interview, drive back, go to a football game, drive back to New Orleans, fly to Columbus, interview, fly back to New Orleans, drive to Baton Rouge - then start a whole new school week.

But I'm not sure how this compares to your upcoming couple of days, jackson - they seem pretty full.

A Tulane rep talked at my school today. Tulane normally is known for focusing more on interesting people vs high stats people. According to a friend, the rep said they've recently had really low board scores they have raised the bar for MCAT scores to 30....

I wasn't able to be at this meeting due to schedule conflicts, so I can't say anything more about it....

I'm more sad about that then the actual rejection.
