Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't taken a day off from work since the 4th of july weekend (mcat = two days off, holiday = one day off). since then i've worked overtime everyweek - due to thursday and friday evenings. i am sooo ready for this new job (they say they almost never stay past 5-5:30)

hmm i should hear back from 2 by next week, then i think temple might let me know on oct 15? the other 3 ill have interviewed at said late oct or later (i believe not til jan for einstein) what about you?

I didn't. I decided I wanted my extra 2.5 hrs of sleep that I hadn't had in forever, and that I would finish my work on Monday. :laugh:

But then again, I basically make my own hours - so it doesn't really count.

1 definitely. Maybe 2, but definitely another on the 16th (which is a Friday!).

i have no real clue, but i think (if good news) i would hear from vandy, louisville, pitt, downstate and njms around then

im hoping we all get at least one so we can relax

and as of yesterday, my dad's cousin will sell me his house next to campus if i get in - and i can rent the other half to someone else (like you! haha) to pay for most of it. = brilliant.

how much is rent around those areas. im not really sure if its in twin cities or duluth or whatever its called, im gonna have to look it up.

will be my first time in MN. i was looking at those airline brochures (i think for delta? maybe united) and sometimes they have tons of ads/spreads about health centers (like upmc, minny, etc) and they had a 7 page article on U of MN medical center and all the research stuff. looks like they are doing big things.

so you can show up in my lab and then go to UofMN on thursday Oct 22nd. Theres a dinner and your interview is on 23rd. if you are local you get a parking pass and if you coming from far you can get free hotel.

good timing, too. that's my only remaining weekend in Oct.
 
I'm hoping to hear from Vandy on the 15th. UVa will mail out letters to everyone on the 16th. Baylor only updates if it's good news, so maybe. I'm not sure of the policies of the 3 schools I have next week, so maybe a few of them too.

LSU is notoriously indecisive. I know that from people in last year's cycle. Say if they interview 10 people, they'll accept 1, reject 1, and put the rest on post-interview hold for a little while.

I doubt they'll accept more than 5 people on Oct 15th - so ksmi, that's you. :laugh:

Now, when UVa said "the 16th" did they mean postmarked on the 16th, or we should get the letters on the 16th - that's a big difference.
 
whats up everyone?

so i am still sitting on five secondaries . . . RFU, Creighton, Albany, Columbia and Emory. I've been filling out secondaries as I can afford them, but it is starting to feel pretty late now (I'm at 15 out of 20 secondaries.) But my financial aid is pending (finally) so I might be able to finish them off in the next week or so but I don't know if it's worth it. Out of those, I'd say Creighton, Columbia and Albany are at the top of my list. (I'm not so interested in RFU, and Emory seems too much of a reach.)

Any advice from those of you applying to those schools? Columbia I originally added because I heard the Dean likes artists (+1) and they like high VR scores too (+2) but since they say they spend so long looking at your app i slacked on it too long. Should I still bother? It's already a reach. Are Creighton and Albany within my range enough that I can get away with it? I just dont want to waste my $$$ but I don't want to miss what would have been a decent shot, either . . .
 
i personally didnt apply to columbia, because it required me to mail a form. i would have though, still thinking about it. not really. i actually finished the secondary in early july or something too.

but yea, i dont think its actually that late. esp, not emory, they just came out a while ago

you may want to put those on a credit card and pay it off as time goes if timing is important for you. obv you would be paying a lot more

Call on the 16th and say that you won't be able to get your mail for awhile and ask if they could let you know their decision because you really really loved them??????

idk, just trying to figure out a way for you to find out on the 16th. :laugh:
 
I applied to Creighton really early and heard nothing. I think if you think you have a good shot there then apply mary
 
Haha thanks everyone. It's okay.. I wasn't expecting much from them as they have been slaughtering people for the past few weeks. And the "Tie" is a hold 😛
 
Well, silent week here, but that's okay. I honestly don't expect any interview invites for another month or so considering I was marked complete at most schools last week.

I just don't know what to do with my time now...

haha i have tea parties with the 4 year old girl i nanny for, but i cant say ive ever had one with someone my own age!
