Just wanted to let you know, I'm from Chicago, but for some reason, I'm definitely pulling for the Phillies in the NL. Chase Utley is the man, and I want to see if Pedro can come back and dominate in a playoff game. Definitely going to scope that one out!

Ohio State rejection. 👎 I guess I overshot my prediction there.

Since it's only my first one of the season, I'm okay with it - I just wish I wouldn't have wasted my time/money and had a crappy 2 days in Columbus.

I have a mock interview today with my prehealth committee guy. i am all snorty and sniffly and my nose is red and gross. and my throat feels like sandpaper. hooray! at least today is the mock and not the real thing. and at least it's friday.
 
If we have yet to hear from a school (even about an interview), can we send an interest letter/update letter?

i'd say generally, sure, but october feels a bit early for letters. maybe in a couple of weeks. idk.

i started looking for WS tix. its $400 right now on stub hub for standing room in philly, i know yankee stadium bleachers are supposed to be cheaper because of the expanded seats but ill have to look it up

I think the only interviews I'm actually "waiting" on would be Emory and Pitt. My other tops I've already been to.

yeah, i'm withdrawing from all but the ones i care about. so i would really like to get all 4 of my remaining ones. but if i had to pick, in order of preference it would be: columbia, tufts, penn, yale.
 
i called one school about my status adn it was an awkward call where they said i was alternate listed (a rejection at this school basically) lol...i wish schools would tell you what was wrong or maybe if u failed at the interview somehow...now im super paranoid about everything...🙁.

yah i guess, i didnt even want to go to the school honestly, its just more i thought that my interview went really well...which worries me as maybe my other interviews went horrid and theres just something about my app or something that is just going to kill me...maybe i fail at interviewing or im only average and dont stand out or something. probably freaking out over nothing i guess its just part of the process...:scared:. On monday im hearing from one of my top 3 schools...hopefully that will outweigh any concerns i have. though if im waitlisted there im freaking out lol

they are supposed to announce the winners for the world series ticket drawing today (which allows you to buy tickets to the world series at face value for non-season ticket holders) and im definitely not winning that

I think I'm going for the Phillies, because I hate the Yankees and dislike the Dodgers and Angels.

I would like the Angels more if Disney still owned them. Ever since they changed their name I boycotted them because it's stupid.
 
my former professor just sent me an email with a broken link to an abstract..i said i couldn't get to it, then he said log in to "oasis" and i was like, wtf is that? so i tell him to just paste it in the email (wouldn't that be easier in the first place), and he does. then i realize it was an abstract for the conference this weekend, and i had forgotten that "oasis" is the program they use (and i have used in the past) to search abstracts/posters. sigh 🙁 feeling dumb..

I used it over the summer when I was out of town for a while. It's cool, but be careful I think it blacks out local games.

Well, I thought I would just get waitlisted, since they accept over 60% of interviewed applicants. I guess I fall into that less than 40%.

My first faculty interview didn't go very well at all, and my student interview was okay, but not bad in any way. Faculty guy kinda grilled me about random things I didn't really have good answers to. He also didn't like a lot of the answers I did have. Oh wells.

I'm honestly OK with either the Phillies or Angels, as I actively dislike the Dodgers and actively loathe the Yankees and am fairly indifferent to the others. But I agree that Dodgers-Yankees would be the most compelling World Series.

Congrats to anyone whose acceptance I missed on my quick run-through. By the way, Caesar got accepted today too 🙂

oh man. if you said that in public, you'd fit right in with me and my friends. most of our jokes stem from hip-hop ad-libs in their corresponding voices (rick ross, jim jones, and jeezy are the favs).
