Yep. Haven't read the new book though.

Never saw the movie but loved the book. I was supposed to go with my fam but they canceled on me.

The movie could have been much better and the end could have been much more epic if they would have included more stuff.

You know, I thought they did a much better job with the Angels and Demons movie than they did with The DaVinci Code movie.

They were both okay, but I didn't really have any expectation for them. I knew the movies wouldn't be as good as the books. I just hated how in the Da Vinci Code they just made every puzzle/problem seem so easy to solve, but in the book it took like 50 pages.

The real problem I have with his books is that every book has the same plot. Some random secret organization that no one has ever heard of before is plotting something devastating. He always has a hero and heroin, and there's always some romantic tension between them.

They're all good, interesting, and fun reads, but once you've read one Dan Brown book, you've read them all.

yup, exactly. I read da vinci code, was blown away, and was disappointed with angels and demons.

I read Da Vinci first, thought it was awesome. Then I read Angels and Demons, realized it was basically the same book, but liked the subject matter better and thought the twist ending was much better.

so angels and demons happens before da vinci code. Was Langdon then sort of cheating on Vittoria when he went out with the Sophie chick in da vinci code?

I don't even begin to attempt to understand that lame aspect of the books. I just thought Sophie >>>>> Vittoria in the movies. 😉

I haven't watched the movies. The Langdon, Vittoria, Sophie triangle always bothered me.

Langdon referenced Vittoria in The DaVinci Code. Besides, the romance/romantic tension between Sophie and Langdon was nothing compared to that of him and Vittoria.

Edit: And... Sophie and Langdon never ended up together... just a flirt here and there...

don't they like go out at the end? I can't remember.

don't they like go out at the end? I can't remember.

Vittoria and Langdon, yes. Sophie and Langdon, no. Remember... Sophie ended up reuniting with the Priori... and if I recall correctly, Vittoria made some snazzy comment about doing yoga and boom, her and Langdon got together in the end. Haha, obviously, my memory is a little spotty.

This idiot just offered Boldin and Sproles for my MJD and D. Mason. I wish I could meet him live so I can punch him.

It was something along the lines of, "Have you ever been to bed with a yoga master?" Probably safe to assume what occurred after that. 😉

And yes, they are pretty much all the same. Don't forget to mention that they all have some sort of assassin(s).

good night

Homecoming weekend!

I'm at my second job right now hungover and exhausted. Oi.

Everyone have a good weekend!

Well, I'm up too early for life. Idk what happened or why I am up right now. Gl with your interview Brooklyn!

To anyone who has had multiple interviews:

With the passage of time (since interviewing), anybody experiencing what I am, namely that some of the schools "improve" in your mind without any new information, while some slip, even if at the time of the interview you felt good about all of them?

I know I am being a little vague here, but some schools have really faded in my mind even though on the day of the interview, and in the days that immediately followed, I ranked them highly...what makes it kind of strange is that its not like I have learned anything new about any of the schools in the meantime.

Also - I am experiencing a LOT of indifference towards the schools I have not received interview invites from, schools that I was very enthusiastic about when I applied...maybe that will all change with an interview invite, but I am not feeling it at all right now.

Ooh ooh: 3s are wild...3333

apparently i got accepted today at UofL. that reduces stress a lot and i can now change focus to looking for new jobzz

I think it's just because we aren't consciously thinking about the schools. I know I can't even remember the differences between them or where I even saw stuff. Good thing I took a lot of notes. Plus, hopefully, we'll have a few second looks to go to to refresh what's so awesome about the schools in our minds.

As far as schools that have ignored me, yeah, I feel the same way. I think it's just part of the territory. But what can you do? If they invite us, awesome. If not, we won't be as heartbroken as we would have been earlier.

Yeah, second looks seem like a critical thing to me now. Even an "informal" second look.

What I am trying to learn about schools (or hope to learn) is more about the clinical years. Pre meds and applicants obsess about the pre clinical stuff - I do too - but what I find much more elusive is the diffs in clinical training at different schools. It would sure be helpful to talk to MS4s and recent grads...

No, no school will break my heart now over a missing invitation...

Agreed. I've become very indifferent since receiving my acceptances. The sad part is that my top choices before are losing ground now because I'm here every day, and now I can officially imagine myself going to school here without worrying about whether I'll get in. I'm going to have to sit down in like March and really lay out all my options if I get any more.

Ya it is really strange how some schools kind of fade in your mind if they don't have some really unique aspect that stands out. I'm finding indifference towards schools I haven't received interviews from either. If I get another interview, great, but if not I'm completely happy with the ones I've gotten and have some great options if I'm lucky enough to get into them.

i'm definitely experiencing this to a certain extent. but i'm not really concerned because if i'm lucky enough to get a few more acceptances, i'll go to all the second looks and decide then.

waitlist for 2 schools already 🙁 i thought I've been nailing interviews. At least that's what I get from the interviewers. i don't get this whole process

You know, I really have a hard time understanding how they pick people. I'm pretty sure everyone applying is amazing and have these great achievements. I'd have a tough time trying to select people if I were on an ad. com.

What happened Lunn, why delete it?

Nothing, I just felt very awkward posting it after the previous post. I've changed the title though. Besides, I've announced previous ones before. lol I kinda did the same for invites earlier.

I quoted you so I can write congratulations but noticed you had erased it, so I erased it too. But yeah, goncrats!

You've got an acceptance, and a lot of schools pull people from the waitlist. Nothing to fret about now. It is only October. You'll be fine.

Did you get into Tulane? If so, I did too. I guess I still did, if you didn't, but it's more exciting if we both got in.

Yeah, I am not concerned, either, and I have no decisions to make without more acceptances. Just a strange feeling...wasn't sure what to expect, but it is interesting that some of you are experiencing the same thing.

Actually, life is very good right now. Once you get an acceptance, the game really changes. And the stress level goes WAY down...

Hard to believe that none of this has to be finalized for almost 7 months (May 15), and for lots of people it will drag into the summer...this whole med school admissions process is the biggest "hurry up and wait" thing I have ever experienced - I would NOT want to go through this again.

😱 I didn't realize it was 7 months away. This whole dealio is so long and crazy. But I think it's worth it in the long run. 🙂

This is the hardest part of the whole thing - it is a bit of a "black box" process, and it is a little different at every school.

And because of it, one needs to apply to a lot of schools, and to apply to a range of schools, too...I did 14 secondaries, and that is pretty close to the national average IIRC...and the other key is to apply EARLY. These people who are still submitting secondaries - whoo - I would not want to be them.
