Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Do that. I'm going to get back into mine now that I have the money to get new strings and the time to play it.

My two new addictions:
Guitar
Beatles Rockband

i definitely want to. theres a guitar sitting unused in my house cuz my brother quit, but ive never played a musical instrument in my life so i dont know where to start. maybe ill spluge for some lessons or ask for them for xmas or something.

How is that? I heard it wasn't as good and that the "good" songs have to be purchased.
IDK, I've only made it 4 songs into the game, but I've already decided that it's my new addiction. It's pretty sweet so far.

Ima see jla IRL fri.

(did I actually construct a sentence containing ONLY 3-letter words? Why? There -- I did it again!)

Unfortunately, that means I'm going to have to put up with the clarinets this weekend 🙄 🙄 :meanie: :meanie:

oh no i actually can't make it to the reunion game!! cruel, cruel interview scheduling...

at least there will be one less clarinet for you to deal with

or better yet, a post-pre-med with the easiest job in the world and infinite amount of time on my hands haha. its getting quite boring actually-i think after i finish learning all the countries and capitals in the world, ill ge rosetta stone spanish and try to become more fluent. or maybe ill try to learn guitar...

i took up running

guys, i just started twittering. and i'm loving it. i resisted for so long, but it's happening... as if i needed another online obsession

after last week, i think we can say that the saints are current locks to be in the superbowl if nothing weird happens in the NFC

Agreed.

VCU is not in the same league as UVA - you will be very disappointed in the comparison between these 2 schools. Not even close...especially when you compare the locations...Charlottesville >>>>> Richmond...

VCU and EVMS are really popular for the OOSers who either don't have an instate public, or they live in a really tough state for IS admissions (California)...

But for people like you who have a very good instate option in hand, VCU (and EVMS) should really drop off your radar. Save your money for one of those other schools on your complete list, like NYU or Pitt...

PM if you have questions - I am a VA resident...know this area well.

Flip, what do you know about getting instate tuition for years 2-4 at one of the VA schools?

Fantasy draft tomorrow night. Who's ready?

👍👍

I've only met JJ, and I didn't even know who he was until I got back home.

👍👍👍

BTW, this thread is officially ridiculous.

I'll never succumb to using Twitter.

I hardly use Facebook as it is....

Can't stand em.

what is the appeal of twitter?

stalkage! haha i only follow like 5 people. basically it's me and my closest friends talking to each other. so, no different than life pre-twitter.

Not possible I don't think. I remember the application saying that you have to have been here a year for non-educational purposes. Here's the pdf for instate application:

I only use twitter to follow people, and mostly those are stores that tweet coupon codes.

i hear following ellen degeneres on twitter can be quite lucrative 😀

Lame. Thanks for the info though. You think it would work if I said, "Oh, but Virginia, Ohio lets you become a resident for educational purposes...😎"

I am late to this discussion, but Bryson put you on to the correct info RE Virginia.

Cool! I'm going for 26.2 in April.... looking for a race still, want to make a trip out of it!! 🙂

Based on your second post, it looks like it is possible, then.
Maybe, but you have to get around this clause:

Domiciliary status shall not ordinarily be conferred by the performance of acts which are auxiliary to fulfilling educational objectives or are required or routinely performed by temporary residents of the Commonwealth. Mere physical presence or residence primarily for educational purposes shall not confer domiciliary status. A matriculating student who has entered an institution and is classified as an out-of-state student shall be required to rebut by clear and convincing evidence the presumption that he is in the Commonwealth for the purpose of attending school and not as a bona fide domiciliary.

Bryson, what do you mean you didn't have money for strings? Good pair (not elixirs) costs $6. Were you that poor?

I don't do or like twitter. Never will.
I had no income from the beginning of August when I stopped being funded by my lab til this friday when I get paid for my new job. I pretty much stopped buying anything extraneous. And I really haven't had much free time from like July til the last week or so.

WHAT IS THIS BLASPHEMY!?!?!?!?!?! The reunion my freshman year was easily the best time I've had at field rehearsal. EVER. We have a big drum, and a guy from class of 74 endowed the drumstick for it, but insisted it forever be referred to as the "Master Beater". It's labeled as such with a little plaque on the handle. We also stole the other team's flags while the flag girls weren't looking :ninja:

Ah memories.... 😍

already doing that-my best friend and i are trying to train for the nashville 1/2 marathon in april🙂

AWESOME! I'm trying to decide between entering that one and entering the Austin Marathon in February. I'm leaning towards Austin though--better swag, more water stops, and a LOT of live music. As much as I love country, there's just not as much live music at Nashville. I have some good friends who ran that one when they were at Vandy undergrad -- said it's a great time!

Considering I'm still having walking trouble from Sunday's marathon, though, April might be a better idea...

Maybe, but you have to get around this clause:

As I understand it, there are no loopholes for someone, once matriculated and classified as OOS, to get that status changed. Evidently some states are fairly lenient about this (Ohio, NJ, etc), but not Virginia.
