Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
well, i probably sleep the latest, but i guess i don't usually post much late

I'm going to have so many issues waking up for med school. Good thing I am a professional power-napper.

Good thing classes won't be required. 😛

Don't remind me, because then I'd sleep in past noon and then contemplate for several hours about getting something done. 10 am classes next semester should somewhat kick my butt back into an early routine.

But classes aren't required in undergrad and I still go. Half the time I don't even gain anything out of it.

I'm one of those people that feels bad about skipping class for no reason at all.

I'm the same. I feel like it's disrespectful if you don't even make an effort to show up.

:hello:

last hour of work... uggghhh what a drag

what's everyone else up to?

trying to get in some study time to compensate for wasted time on sdn.
suffice to say its not working.

I feel like I'm losing money when I skip class. So I go and d!ck around. I was a complete idiot during ugrad classes save for a few.

Float are you in school? You always seem to be up past 2

As in am I still in college? Yes...prime example of senioritis right here. Am I on winter break? Hellz yeah. I just stay up later and later each semester. I think next semester it'll probably be pushing 3/3:30 am.

Haha nice. I'm usually sleeping by 1 but had to work a random shift tonight 😡

Yeah...I don't think I've gone to bed at 1 since freshmen year.

For anyone who's still reading: I'm going snowboarding for the first time this winter break. Any suggestions on how not to be sore for several days? Like is there a certain way to fall?

Took you long enough. I already reached 3100 by this time.

Do you get night pay?

Yeah geeze, you smoked me. I wonder if I will reach 2000. Funny thing is 90% of my posts are in this thread lol.

And yes, night pay. Probably the only benefit of this boring shift.

Oh man. I went snowboarding for the first time last winter break. Pretty sure I eff-ed up my knees from falling so much . I don't know if there is a way to not be sore cuz you use muscles you normally don't use [well at least that's how it was for me]...and if there is, I for sure didn't find it. I'm sure falling on your butt is much better than falling on your knees, though. It was sooo much fun though. Where are you going?

My advice: Be a complete BA and don't fall

Man, if I had a job like that I would work a good bit of nights and weekends or whatever.

My job at the theater doesn't have overtime, holiday or weekend pay. Which really sucks considering our busiest days are holidays and weekends. I just don't understand how I can get into freaking med school yet I am unable to find a better job than mine. 😕

Probably somewhere in Pennsylvania. I'm thinking of maybe bending my knees and then falling as gracefully on my side as possible. I can't believe I'm strategizing about how to fall...

Not possible. I already trip on nothing walking down the sidewalk.

Bedtime for me. Gotta wake up in 4 hours and help proctor a final exam.

Night everyone!

You're not sore because of falling, but because you're going to use muscles you never knew you had.

Sweet - I made it past FloatOn!

That means it's definitely time to go to sleep.

Man, I really hope I get into VCU tomorrow... :xf:

You didn't beat me though. GL w/ VCU.

Yeah, if they're about 10 feet long and you're going about 35mph and you hit it just right.

35 miles? I hope he made a sincre effort to stop...otherwise thats inhumane, and asking for some nasty karma. I mean, I'd happily run over him going 35 miles an hour. See if he is game.

my intestenes are doing the MMC. 😀

Har har, I'm sad to have missed out. I'm sure you guys will have even more fun today.

I have a question... Okay, so I want to send a Update Letter/Letter of Interest to a particular school, and the only email address I can find is for the admissions office. How to I indicate in my email that the letter is addressed to the Director of Admissions? Is there a particular note I should put in the subject line (or otherwise)?

Just send it to the Admissions Office, I wouldn't direct it to anyone. The office normally places it in the file for you, and the entire committee can then look at it and consider it during the adcom meeting.

Hmmm... If that's the case, then who should I address in the letter itself. Up until this point, I've sent letters to specific people; however, if I send it just to the office, do I need to address the admissions committee as a whole? And if so, what should my letter's greeting look like - "To the ..." or "Dear ...," etc.?

I just address it as "To Admissions Committee".

Dear Admissions Committee,

or

Dear University of X School of Medicine,

I would direct letters to the dean or whoever for waitlists in the spring or something as a hail mary

direct to director of admissions or the dean, whichever usually is the point-person on it. if you're sending to Vanderbilt, send it to Dr Sagan.
