and lstone-i don't love shopping all that much either, i bought a giants sweatshirt at the game last week but before that i don't think i've bought any clothes since early last spring! i definitely need some waredrobe revamping before school starts though...the sweatpants and t-shirts i've been wearing every day this year aren't the most exciting outfits ever haha. they are perfect for chasing a 4 and 6-year-old around though😛

Well see, the weird thing for me is that I like clothes and I like fashion, but I just don't like the act of shopping. I get bored and kind of annoyed.

I dig urbane scrubs and iguana med scrubs. my mom also sews me custom batik scrubs every once in a while. we really don't have a dress code at my work.....but I tend to stick to solid scrubs, a hoody (go figure), and a pair of puma's. 👍


now its time to strip down to my underthings 🙂eek🙂 and crawl into bed with my rice back. night night all. 😴

ya but not since i was like 13...i remember it being awesome, but that might just be because i got to have sooo much freedom from the parents (i mean, it's not like i could really get lost on a ship in the middle of the ocean haha).
 
just when I thought I was heading to my last interview this week, I have another interview to schedule! U Chicago, though i'm not sure yet if it's just MD so far, and you have to wait to see if you get an md/phd interview too. Process is super unclear. eh.
 
Stone... what's the publix sub place? Never heard of it.

i'm bored-my little 4yo is sleeping on top of me and i can't get up haha. she usally sleeps for like 1.5 to 2 hours too...and i'm hungry boo

aww. Luckily my son is a sound sleeper when he does this i can just pick him up and throw him on the bed🙂. I remember when he was younger having to do what you are though and id always end up in pain after 2 hrs of not moving an inch lol. I havnt gotten any backround check either though i only have one school that might do it. For UW madison i had to pay for my own background check from a diff company! I thought med schools were supposed to do this for free🙁.

haha that's good. the girl i nanny wakes up if you move her and is sooo cranky if she gets up before she's ready so i try and avoid it. i thought all the schools did it through amcas, that stinks you have to pay! i actually have no clue which of my schools even have a cbc, but that'd probably be a good thing to find out.

Publix subs are amazing! The Publix grocery stores have a deli section where they make subs, and they are simply mouthwatering.
 
that reminds me of how my brother would take naps all the time when he worked at a golf course. that'd be the life...

I thought schools only ran checks after you are accepted. Is this not true?

i've been reading this site for months and months now, but never really contributed before a couple days ago. i guess the anxiety of waiting drove me to it. i really dig what I have seen so far here though, seems like a great bunch.

i submitted my secondaries way too late to schools that are way too hard to get into, and now i'm worried as ****. what's your story?
 
well i see you have a baylor interview, that's sweet. I'm still hoping on mstp places, but so far i've only heard back from one md-only. and i just ate some pudding and it was good.

it is-- accepted or waitlisted. what jolt was saying (and what i'm wondering as well) was that he wants to know if it's a school that he already knew he was accepted to, or if it's a school that's about to accept him. often people get the background check emails before getting acceptance emails.

for me... umass, BU, and einstein all participate in the background check thing. so i want to know if i got the email because of umass, or because i'm about to get into one of the other two.

in some cases the night before the deadline.... i guess i didn't realize that getting it in before the deadline isn't the same as getting it in as soon as possible.

i'd say most of my secondaries got in around october, but my letters were a mess... it was a rough semester all around. the pre-med advising at my school is a complete joke.

yeah i'm really jazzed about that. the medical center is amazing. i'm going to have to turn the charm up to 11.

My letters were the latest part of my application to be turned in as well!

It's only for accepted, not waitlisted. I know because I was on a bunch of waitlists last year.

i remember feeling so worried that I was bothering these oh-so-important people with my measly letter requests (and subsequent requests to submit... over and over again).

these brilliant minds aren't always so good at stuff like this. 😎
 
i think criminal background thing has a glitch, some ppl have been getting more emails than places they have interviewed at, while my bumass only got one email. miami was probably like **** it, we are criminals and brooklyn's probably one anyway
 
Yeah I got four letters with only three acceptances
