Why would they send an invite to someone who withdrew 😡? Why not to someone who is still an applicant and has written them a letter of interest? Hmph.

Congrats though...

EDIT: Sorry for sounding so bitter.

Pop avatar?
Pop=Popovich=Spurs coach=thumbs up guy 🙂
how about this

philly wins this saturday - you rock the eagles avatar until they lose
dallas wins - i will sport the cowboys til they lose
It's on 👍

Weird, but cool I guess.

hmm i have to debate about whether or not to go, cuz i could totally say i have a temple interview and not go to the interview and not go to work at all!!!!!!!!!!!!

i used to, but then relievers had to blow some games and ryan howard had to try to hit a homerun on every wild pitch

so if one of them wins the superbowl, your avatars aren't changing until next season?

Oh man, that's rough... if you actually look up a couple of pages, you'll see that the unbiased side of me actually is picking the Eagles not only to win Sunday but to come out of the NFC 😳 Obviously I love my 'Boys, but if I were a gambling man I couldn't tell anyone to bet on Tony Romo.

I'll go through the NBA All-Star game. But after that I've gotta have my Spurs avatar back for the stretch run.

alright how about this

if the eagles win the title, you are locked to the eagles to the all star game and then you can change it to your spurs avatar, as long as it has a picture of Eva longoria in it

if cowboys win, i'll put up the sign til they lose in pre-season

 Now THAT is an avatar I could see my self changing around.

OK, it's on. Though I'll be stunned if either one of us has to go through with the "if they win the title" clause. I don't think anyone is beating the Colts/Chargers.

With Welker, Pats could have gone to the Super Bowl. Without him, I think they will lose in the divisional rounds. But I think they will beat the Ravens. I'm so sad about Welker though.

easy pick. ravens are very meh. the afc crop was not too hot this year

Oh idunno, I'm not that hot on the Pats either without Welker and an injured Brady. Randy Moss is going to have to carry that team, and I'm not sure that he's fully engaged right now or that he's entirely as capable as he was a couple of years ago, as age is slowly creeping up on him. I like them a little more than the Ravens but that's not saying much. Unless Welker comes back 100% by next week I don't see them having any chance against the Colts or Chargers.

they have a welker body double in edelman, and the pats have had good success vs bolts & colts in the past.. defense is coming around.. but we'll see. i think the pats are working with some very bad juju with the whole seymour trade

welker has a torn ACL/MCL. he's not coming back 100% next YEAR let alone next week. the brady injury thing is apparently a fabrication by a media talking head according to the latest i've read. we'll see. ravens can always come up big, but i doubt it.

Yeah, Edelman will have to step up, but he's only a rookie. I think a tight end has to step up, maybe Chris Baker or Ben Watson. And the running game has to be better.
And Pats will have to control Ray Rice, that little mofo is a beast.

with you 100%. the tight ends are really up and down, so they could be huge or be completely invisible; hopefully the big stage has them coming up big.

Oh come on, he's not Welker. And the Colts have owned the Pats over recent history. Whatever the Pats may have done against the Chargers doesn't matter much when a key ingredient like Welker is out.

Oops. I think I had his injury mixed up with someone else.

And shockingly, I'm not entirely gonna take the Pats at their word about Brady's health 😉

Yeah, I like the Pats in this one, even without Welker, you can never count out Belichick and Tom Brady in playoffs and clutch situations.
But I'm worried about the divisional rounds, when they will face either the Colts or the Chargers. I really hope Pats get the Colts, they played em real close in that regular season game this year.

As for the Chargers, they are way too dangerous. Probably the best team right now, no one wants to face them. Rivers and his 6-4, 6-5 receivers just burn the hell out of everybody.

i think the pats have a good system in place where players can step up. obviously edelman is a poor man's welker, but quite honestly i think kevin faulk and edelman together makes up for that well enough. welker doesn't make the pats offense go, it's randy moss that clears out the safeties so others can work underneath.

I agree, the Chargers are my pick to win it all right now... I think. I don't remember who I said a few pages back. 😛 It was them or the Colts.

 I think it's a give and take, that Moss and Welker help clear out for each other. I guess we'll see. I just think the Colts and Chargers are more talented than the Pats at this point. Outside of Moss and Brady, the rest of their offensive players seem fairly average.

I will take the Pats, Bengals, Cowboys, and Packers. I'm a little icky about all my picks though. Not confident at all.

What are you guys' picks?

pats eagles bungles (i'm CONVINCED they deliberately put out a crap game plan) cards

we had a thread on this a way back (against the spread though), but i pick ravens, eagles, bengals, cards

I really hope Eagles beat Dallas. I freaking hate the Cowboys.👎
But that last game really scared me.

haha your picks are like all birds

yea it's a bit of a toss-up. it's hard to have confidence in a team that faced a 1st round bye and absolutely gave it away

Maybe I'm biased towards birds because I'm a Falcons fan? 🙂

I really don't see the Eagles coming out flat two weeks in a row. Andy Reid is too good of a coach to let that happen.

Here's the against the spread picks. You guys are welcome to do the quote, add, delete the quote tags thing if you like.

Week 1
CIN favored by 3.0 over the NYJ
NWE favored by 3.5 over the BAL
DAL favored by 4.0 over the PHL
ARI favored by 3.0 over the GBP

Spurs: CIN, NWE, PHL, ARI
guyski: CIN, BAL, PHL, ARI
jackson: NYJ, BAL, DAL, GBP
brooklyn: CIN, BAL, DAL, GBP

scaper: NYJ, NWE, DAL, GPB
Sammich: NWE, NWE, NWE, NWE

If the Jets had a good quarterback, they would be my Super Bowl favorites. The best defense and number one running game. Too bad Sanchez sucks like hell.

You'd think he'd be too good to let that happen once with a bye on the line.

Touche. That was very uncharacteristic and I was shocked by it.

I just don't see it happening two weeks in a row, and teams that get big-time emotional wins (as Dallas did last week) usually have a let-down the next week.

Add my picks to that list, Spurs.

They don't change against the spread?

Also, about Cowboys-Eagles: again, I agree with you guys. I like Philly in this game. I'm just pointing out, the entire NFC is a toss-up; there are reasons to believe in and against all 6 teams over there.

Trends over 10 players (ignoring Sammich (as usual)):

CIN/NYJ: 7-3 Benglas
BAL/NWE: 6-4 Pats
PHL/DAL: 5-5
GBP/ARI: 6-4 Packers

and like they say, it's very hard to beat a team 3 times...
I think I read somewhere today that teams going for the 3-0 sweep are 12-7, but that the Cowboys are 0-2 when going for it
