Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
So, I have a question. When is it appropriate for a person to send a Letter of Intent? I see there's a poll going on the main page, but it doesn't seem very conclusive.

is this post-interview? for vandy?

my opinion is that if you have something to update them on, send it in before they review you, but if it's just a strict "i really want to go here" letter of intent, wait until they give you a decision

it depends on the school, though. since vandy reviews people on the "hold" list every time they make decisions, i think sending a letter of update/intent after you get put on hold would give them something more to talk about

But you saved the gnomes!!

 I was actually thinking about that riddle the other day.

lebron not in the dunk contest 🙄

Lame. But did you expect him to be? All the big names are scared to get beat.

Dunk contest has been lame since after the 90s, when people didn't care about hurting themselves.

The VC one was good, and I think that was early 2000's. But yeah.

Morning, all!

Yo!

And rejected from CWRU. Eh, I already assumed rejections from schools I hadn't heard from, so I'm not too bummed out.

$$$$ anyway. You'll be fine. 👍

IMO:
1) Updates on what you've been doing.
2) How those things show you're a fit for the school.
3) Saying you want to go, this place is my first choice (if it is), etc

2014!...hello there

What up SD. How you feel about them Chargers?

I think the Chargers' window may have just closed.

Your thoughts?

i was afraid someone would bring that up...still in mourning over here. worst loss in franchise history in my opinion. at first i thought "oh well im used to this kind of disappointment." but yesterday it really hurt to think about it. so lame...LT wont get a ring with us.

damn you JJ for bringing back the pain!

Worse than the beat-down by the 49ers in the Super Bowl?

the LT fan in me says yes, that without him our franchise will go downhill just bc he has meant so much to this team/city. but the realist and overall football fan in me thinks that this is just the beginning for the chargers actually. Rivers is the guy on this team, and we have a core group of great young recievers, sproles, will get jamal williams back next year to tighten up the run defense, and some new linebackers who can actually tackle and rush the passer.

get rid of cromartie, cooper and phillips and we'll be fine. stupid stupid stupid penalties. everyone in the stadium was dumbfounded by how stupid the chargers were acting...a carbon copy of 2006 against the pats.

i think we are kind of like the colts...it took manning 9 tries until he won a ring (always called playoff chokers). rivers is a great qb and he'll win one i bet...hes only in his 4th year as a starter (soon to be 5th)

way worse. we were never supposed to beat the steelers in pittsburgh that year...we were severely overmatched and we lost to steve young and a dynasty type team. plus it was a blowout, which always makes it easier to accept than a crushing close loss.

without a doubt this last loss was worst in franchise history in my opinion

life of an eagle's fan

anyway here are the odds for the SB

Colts: 6/5
Vikings: 4/1
Saints: 2/1
Jets: 13/2

interesting comparison:
espn/football outsiders said:
In 2008, JaMarcus Russell completed 198 of 368 passes for 2,423 yards and 13 TDs (with 8 INTs). This season, Sanchez went 196-for-364 for 2,444 yards, 12 TDs and 20 INTs. Their completion percentages were identical (ahhh!): both at 53.8 percent.

Russell started 15 games at age 23 in 2008; Sanchez started 15 games at age 23 in 2009. The biggest difference is in interceptions, where Sanchez was significantly worse, throwing 20 interceptions to Russell's eight.

huh that's really interesting. i guess he's really lucky he has a good defene and offensive line to help him.

yeah. i tried to imagine the thought of jamarcus russell and the raiders in the afc championship game and had to stifle my laughter. although, admittedly, the raiders have other problems too

Man, I can't wait to get out of work today. It has gone by sooo slow.

Which crowd am I in? I post at random times of the day.
The best one 🙂? My job interview went well today i think i finally might have a job!! I hear back tomorow i hope its not another "While you are qualified we have decided to go with another applicant who more closely matches what we are looking for." I just realized Job rejections are a lot like med school.

, mark sanchez sucks no lie

but the Jet's O-line can make a double amputee running back look like barry sanders (exaggeration)

Qb's are judged by wins and losses.

Sanchez has a head on his shoulders, a good one. Jamarcus is lazy and that's why he hasn't figured it out and probably never will in a toxic organization. Plus, his 20 int's came in spurts. I think he has thrown 4 and 5 in a game this year. It's definitely proven that when Sanchez protects the ball the Jets win... the kid does what he's asked and has been doing it well so I think he is miles and miles ahead of Jamarcus.

I think eventually we will see the numbers come up alongside the win totals as they build the offense around him more in a few years.

No, the rest of the Jets are just good enough to hide his flaws. The Bears made it to the Super Bowl with Rex Grossman. The Ravens won it all with Trent Dilfer. Neither one of those guys was a good quarterback, it's just the rest of the team was that good.

Don't forget the Buccaneers also won a Super Bowl with Brad Johnson.

i'm booooooored at work. was a stressful afternoon when i almost messed something up, and had to take a while to rescue my samples. now i'm brain dead. :\

I think you're right. LT has been a good player, but has never really been a leader, or a guy who could get things done when it mattered. I think the Chargers will be good for the next few years.

here are the lines

NYJ + 7.5
IND - 7.5

MIN + 4.0
NOS - 4.0

Should we use these, then?

Man, I can't wait to get out of work today. It has gone by sooo slow.

Stoney, if you are serious about learning how to do stuff on your vehicle, get one of these: http://www.haynes.com/products/productID/164

Obviously for your vehicle of choice.

i just submitted an abstract for an oral presentation at the american assoc. of immunology meeting in baltimore. who gone be there?

I just bought my guitar finally. Do you guys think I can teach myself guitar with a book, like Dummy's or something? I played piano for years so I can read music. I inquired about lessons but it's like $100 for 2 hours, too crazy expensive.

you must first decide between the "stairway to heaven" school of learning and the "nothing else matters" school

What did you get? You can teach yourself with a book, but it's better to at least be able to see what your "instructor" is wanting you to do as far as positioning goes.

Samich. But like the pictures in the books look pretty clear to me though.

sorry about Case stoney-boo.
I hope Vandy works out for you:luck::luck::luck: they must think you are something special-I didn't even get a secondary/interview. Lots to celebrate for you already!

Mmm I am about to go eat me some free delicious pizza (free pizza is always delicious, esp when it is from my fav local place). Our RA says I am her best resident because I come to most of her events...truth is: anytime you have free pizza or stuff...I will be there lol.

My sister did. She's now really good, like, I couldn't tell over break if she was playing or my parents had the radio on.
