Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It's 26 F. Cold is relative... I would love to have 26 degree weather right now. My fiancée just interviewed for grad school in St. Louis and was loving the 20-25ish weather. Balmy!

😱 well i guess its 17F here now but i think the day high has to be higher

In Louisiana, you have to fill out FAFSA to be eligible for TOPS, our state school scholarship program.

It pays for almost all the tuition of state schools for LA residents.
It seems those programs are popular in the south. Sadly my home state has pretty much allways been too broke to do anything like that.
have u guys seen the american apparel search for the best bottom
No,😕

This is pretty sweet.👍

Is it bad that I've never done my own FAFSA?

Nah, unless you count lack of experience with a relatively simple thing

I was not amused by that.

I was going to ask if there was some sporting event going on, as my neighbors have been cheering intermittently for the last 20 minutes. But now my heater's kicked off, and I realize they're doing karaoke.

I hate bad karaoke.

Myuu's rule: If you can't sing, don't.
:boom:

My solution? Looping the following at sufficient volume:
25hd

Should I switch to Megaman 3?

My boys want to go to a club in Dayton.... I'm about to pay cover and take a nap on the dance floor.

my federal and NYS taxes are DONE. wooties.

now if my parents would just finish up, i could do fafsa... sigh.

I imagine I'm the only one who has their parents pestering them to complete their FAFSA. :laugh:They're convinced I will get "low-rate goverment loans" from filling it out quickly:laugh:

I shall give them props for being on top of things though.

It's interesting. Some people in my class say that when they go out to a karaoke bar, it's always the people who take it seriously that ruin it 😀

I approve!

absolutely, i hate people who take themselves seriously at the karaoke place - totally kills the mood for majority of the people

This is true, if you go out to a karaoke bar.

absolutely, i hate people who take themselves seriously at the karaoke place - totally kills the mood for majority of the people
Again, true.

However, what I'm talking about is being forced to listen to bad karaoke outside of its normal context. I used to live right behind a water park that companies would rent out for a day.

Bad karaoke. High volume. Terrible combination.

Dang, everybody is freaking out about FAFSA stuff.

I just want to get mine done, and I hate waiting for stuff to come in that I have no control over... also, I think everyone just wants to see their financial aid packages. Kind of nerve-wracking! :scared:

I've never done a FAFSA in my life.

Do I even have to worry about it yet since I've only been waitlisted? Or do even waitlister people have to do this soon? Sorry I am completely clueless to financial aid stuff since my dad always said "They aren't gonna give us ****!" all throughout college.

Some of my schools emphasized that even if you're waitlisted, you should still fill out all the financial stuff ASAP because if they do take you off the waitlist, they can get your financial aid package to you that much sooner.

FAFSA is alright by me. I effin hate the CSS profile. Ughhhhhhhh

What's CSS?

Yeah, you can do ones you are WLed at. Although FAFSA isn't due for a while yet, I think, so I doubt financial aid packages will come out until then.

Yeah, I guess I should have been more specific -- the schools that warned me about this were talking about when they take people off the waitlist in April/May, it's nice if people already have their FAFSA stuff in so that there's no delay in sending financial aid stuff out. I think most schools wait until March/April to start sending out financial aid packages, but I could be wrong

What, you had a doubt???

I have it on good authority that Spursy is an artificial construct designed by the government to befriend you, learn all of your darkest secrets, and the post them on twitter.

it is taking me forever to get to 4000. jeez.

so, here's a question... i came down with a (pretty mild) cold yesterday. i mostly feel fine, and i've been laying around all weekend, with the exception of last night when i went to a friend's birthday party and had to walk 15 blocks home in the freezing cold (smart move, dw). i don't want to be hoarse and stuffy for my columbia interview tomorrow. do i go to boxing class at 5, or stay home and rest? i've never been able to decide if exercise makes me feel better or worse when i'm sick.

Just stay home and rest. That 15 block walk was probably plenty exercise for you, no need for boxing, IMO.

I say rest and drink tea with honey. Always makes me feel better 🙂

I can't believe SDN is finally back. Yay!

maybe it's a good thing you're not moving to nyc

15 blocks = 15 mintues
new yorkers walk everywhere, so that's nbd to me... it's just that it was cold!

You can walk a block in a minute? Dang, you must walk fast or a block in NYC must be very short.
And stop reminding me of what I am missing!🙄

sorry 🙁

but yeah, for good walkers it's about a block a minute. if i'm in a hurry, i can do it in less. those are the up/down blocks, though... crosstown blocks are 2-3 times as long. i can do those in under 2 min if i'm in a hurry.

i say do some spinning. i always find lots of exertion type exercises (like kickboxing) make me worse when im sick, but mild workouts (like spinning) make me feel/function a little better.

and nyc is awesome. the end.
