How about this one:

C-->-Q
--C
Those are both asserted.

Prove -Q

if im reading it right --C is the same as C (double negative right?)

so you are given C and you are also given C--> -Q

so you end up with -Q

lol I hope I don't become known as the exercise dictator on this thread

I'm just hoping a gentle daily reminder will keep me motivated and knowing that other people are doing it too

no thats good we all need positive reinforcement! i feel like a dictator for making metallica feel guilty 🙁 but i think i worked out the least out of all of you to begin with..

For some reason - - C can't just be used as C. I have to come up with a provisional assumption and get a standard contradiction. Since I want -Q I have to provisionally assume Q so that my S.C will disprove it.. I just don't know what SC to come up with once I have Q.

it should! its a double negative (DN) rule!! i took out my logic notes for ya lolll 😛

i'm logical and i love logic its great after finishing a proof, kinda reminds me of geometry!! aaand i sound like a nerd now:smack:

Oh, okay. that did work. I just didn't know the proper way to write out the justification. Woo! That one done. lol

I still have no idea about that first one I posted.

Also :

K&--J A

Want J&--K

:laugh:

I'm having trouble with a few proofs.. One of them is:

-[A -> (B&C)] Asserted

Want to prove -[A <-> (B&C)]

ok i got it, just double check my last step cuz its based on assumption i didnt see the official rule for it..

inside the []:

A-> (B&C) is the same as -Av(B&C) which is the same as (-AvB)&(-AvC)

from there you get: (A->B)->(A->C)

and the last step: A<->(B&C)

you can keep the [] and the negative it wont change!

Don't worry about it. :laugh:

I normally thrive off negative reinforcement followed by positive afterward. I'm definitely the kind of person who does better if I feel that I have a chip on my shoulder.

we haven't learned what wedges mean yet 🙁

👍👍👍 to these folks!

i've been told that positive reinforcement is a good thing (lol this is where someone gets all meta on me and reassures me that is 😉)
I worked out too! where is my cookie!

btws...our commencement speaker this year is....
Gov. Schwarzenegger

I know I am going to be making "it is not a tuma" jokes the entire time.
arggg!

👍

lol. I think either.

:laugh:

man, i've been weak these last 2-3 months. i need to get a good schedule going again. i think morning work outs plus 5-6 small/midsized meals. i am no where near repping 225 for bent over rows

hey!
long time no see.
I am apperently on "ignore mode" today...nobody will engage me in enlightening conversation.
oh wells...

i didn't know you wanted enlightening conversation. sounded to me like you just wanted my cookies (or maybe just cookies in general).

I do want cookies filled will enlightenment.

I gave you a mario cookie!
Thank you for the mario cookie. And I am super excited about the socks arriving any day now lol. I like drunky Sammie.

lol, I put them in the mail today. I thought VERY VERY VERY hard about not. Or about repacking them to see what the heck my drunk note said.... But they're en route.

No drunky Sammie again until Easter.

Evgeni Plushenko: "I was positive that I won. But I suppose Evan needs the medal more than I do. Maybe it's because I already have one."

:laugh: kind of a sore loser.

that's very logical. sharing the wealth is a good idea.

speaking of olympic drama, did you hear about the men's 1500 speed skating final? korea was about to sweep the podium until a korean skater made a bad pass move and took out himself and his teammate. apollo ohno ended up taking silver and a young america took bronze. another korean skater still won gold but he told the korean press than ohno didn't deserve to stand on the same podium as him. wow! ballsy. apparently there is some bad blood between ohno and korean skaters going back to the SLC winter olympics.

lol yeah i remember seeing that race live and being shocked at that crash. i mean, the guy is kind of right -- ohno really didn't "deserve" the medal since he got ridiculously lucky with that crash (although i think you could also argue that ohno got pushed/jostled with at some point in the race).

...anyway, he wasn't as lucky as steven bradbury in the 1000m in 2002. THAT was pure robbery.

thievery on the ice! haha, that's a good headline.

yeah the "deserve" part could definitely be interpreted in many diff ways. if you don't play clean/fair its could be construed as cheating, so you don't deserve to win either. in any case, speed skating is action packed and IMO, the most entertaining winter olympic sport.

I like the fortune cookies that say "404 Error: Fortune Not Found!"

That kind of stuff happens in speed skating all the time, though. People that technically don't "deserve" the medal get it all the time.

Kind of like how the best team sometimes doesn't get to the BCS national championship game.
