Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm late for the PI bashing party, but I'd like to add that the group of undergrads that I'm doing my senior thesis project with and I put unbelievable hours for the past six months into this research project, and after we made one (big) mistake with our cell line, he just dumped us completely. Ended the project. "Good luck, hope you guys have the data you need for your poster, get out of my lab." **** you very much.

😡

Damn. That is RIDICULOUS. I never realized how lucky I was to have an awesome PI. She is super laid back... I was gonna come in to lab on friday because there was a lot to do and she sent me an email yelling at me that the weather was too bad (snow day) and research can wait til after break

My PI is chill when it comes to how much time I spend in lab, or when I go to lab and when I don't. But he expects a new set of data at the end of each week...

my PI is actually chill and is a pretty good mentor, but he's gonna get a R01 out of all the work I did and I'm up on pubmed now and am gonna be at the lab tomomrrow so he got the better end of the deal (my outlook on life is just have a bigger ego)

incubator contamination is no joke, we had random fungus growing all over the incubator the other day. but we couldnt sanitize it at 90C because we had too many flasks. thats what happens when each member is either knocking down 4 things or transfecting in 4 things and has like 5 clones of each plasmid

there are way too many non-academic elements of research. sometimes it used to hit me unexpectedly how big a part money plays (ie in the case of cell contamination for stein)

Yeah, I feel you. Everyone always gets yeast contamination in my lab. I don't. All my cells will just randomly die though for no reason.

Why oh why did I choose a 530 flight.

I got literally 10 minutes of sleep. I'm not feeling it yet though. Caffeine OD.

I get where he's coming from but it was still cold. It did free up a lot of time, however...

Never realize how tied down you are to a lab until you no longer need to be there every single day to check on something. 👍

i hate lifting with others - not a fan of being spotted either, but i like listening to music just as much as lifting. i'm sure if you wanted to cut down on running your bench would go up

I like having someone to push me. Also, you can go for bigger increases if you aren't worried about dropping.

you maintaining your squats and deadlifts?

I usually do squats and cleans, no deadlifts.

I was going to try to keep you company, but I suppose you can just talk to yourself if you'd like 😛
Hi bob! I didn't know you were here! I'd much rather talk to you

That's very possible.

Nothing is open for me to buy food. Poopy. Hopefully I have time to grab something in Atlanta.

I think I'm the only person on this flight traveling alone.

*feels awkward*
Along with that, I'm the only one listening to my iPod
I feel like I'm in the twilight zone.

one time i was watching this korean movie that my friend gave me and then this old korean lady sat down next to me and i felt very weird -- i'm pretty sure she saw it and was like "why in the world is this guy watching a korean movie"
