Coolz. I think it's done, but I will let it sit for a couple days before I make my final decision on it. Pretty short - 3 very short paragraphs, but that's the point - it only has 1 purpose anyway.

Yea, mine started off that way, but later on I was writing 2 page critical analyses of myself and how I'd be great for UF. Pretty sure that didn't help tho :laugh:

Well, there are other reasons too, things change. For one, Tebow is no longer gonna be a senior next year so that's a big incentive gone :laugh:

I know how you feel. I've worked at a movie theater on and off for the last almost 5 years, I'm sure I've lost some brain cells because of it. I get dumber every time I go back there.
 
Morning! Anyone want to read a LOI for me? I finally stopped being lazy and am starting to do another round of them for the schools I'm waitlisted at. It's short and sweet🙂

You've already sent a LOI to these schools? You know, I was actually thinking about this the other day. I was thinking I would send letters again in May if I hadn't heard anything from the schools, but I was going to see what you all thought about it.

i should have had someone do this lol. I think my LOI to UCI were a bit too pathetic...im reading them and i feel sorry for myself 😛. I could do it if u wanted, though im no expert writer!

Umm some of them-I sent LOI's to gtown, Wake, and Vermont back in the fall. I've heard that these 3 schools love to be "woo'ed" though, so I don't think they'll mind getting another letter at all. Do you know how your schools feel about getting lots of updates? I know that some aren't too fond of it, so if that's the case I'd probably wait then maybe send another one in May/June as a last hail mary.

Temple I haven't sent an LOI to yet. Einstein, Dartmouth, and Downstate I just got wl'ed at recently so I haven't sent them letters yet either.

I don't care how Baylor feels. They're getting another letter. :laugh:

And another one if I'm not in by May 15th - I will have it ready to go the night before. They need to know how much I love them.
 
Yale decisions are coming out today or tomorrow says the admissions office. I hate SDN sometimes. Emails will freak me out for the next two days. 🙁

most of the schools ive interviewed at could care less. Some schools like ucla i know dont even care and told me so lol. In general i think these letters are one step above useless. Of course you want to go to X school, i mean you applied and interviewed there right? And because you write one sappy letter saying you want to go there for the same generic reasons every other pre med does (research, volunteering, intl opportunities, and community involvement) they are all the sudden going to change their mind?

I only know of a few schools that put a lot of stock on these and thats UCI, vermont, and i think gtown? Im sure there are others, but i would assume for most schools its not going to change much. If i were an adcomm i know i would care less lol. The only time id care is if they not only said they want to go to this school because of X generic pre med reason, but also had a strong reason like they want to be with their wife, kid, fiancee, w/e.

lol thats why i applied to dartmouth. Only ivy i wasted my time with. Result i think i was one of the 1st people rejected :laugh:
 
A teeny tiny itty bitty part of me keeps fantasizing that one of the schools I've heard nothing from to be like "Oops! We misplaced your file - you're awesome! Forget the interview, here's oodles of money, please come here."

ya gtown, vermont, and wake are the only ones i know of. dartmouth could probably care less if i send them a loi or not, but i'm going to because i love them🙂 haha

While you may be right, the effort makes me feel better about the process. I feel pro-active in regards to the decision, instead of helpless.

:laugh: Hahaha, I feel the same way! When I was thinking about it before and deciding whether to send more letters or not, I just thought to myself, "Well, I should just have it ready to go on May 15th, just in case." 🙂
