Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm like beyond horrified by the conversation had in here last night. I'm not one to normally call people out on this. But seriously? I'm shocked by the amount of disrespect shown for females in general.

And Sammy, I would have punched that ******* in the face. Sorry people are douches.

This is what happens when the forums are left unguarded in the wee hours of the morning. 🙄 :smack:

About to drive back to Baton Rouge.

morning everyone!! congrats Taty on the run, you blew my first halfy out of the water.

Church was great today, saw my ex and made sexual gestures towards her.

Sammy that sucks, you're not fat, some people just have unrealistic expectations due to what society deems as fat and skinny.
read this again.

woah, what happened? did i do something?

Why does everybody take the MCAT April of their Junior year right before they apply? Is it just because all the advice says you have to? It seems like it causes everybody so many problems.

If they would just take the prereqs in their first 2 years of college, they could take the MCAT the summer after sophomore year or winter of junior year and get it over with sooner - you can be prepared to apply early, do your committee stuff, get ready to take it again if you screw up, etc... I just don't see why more people do this.

I mean, how many threads do we have about timing of the MCAT relative to applying and conflicts and stuff?

april of their junior year is pretty rare in real life from what i see. most people just end up taking it august-october of their application year from what i see

Oh, and I'm not talking historically when April was just one of two test dates - I'm talking about recently when there are lik 22 dates or something to choose from.

I'm writing on my whiteboard in my room:

No going online under the influence of any substances.

met-i agree that taking the mcat the summer after sophomore year is a really good plan if you finished the prereqs. unfortuntely i didn't have that option-the silly lady that signed me up for classes at orientation told me taking chem and bio at the same time would be too hard, so she only signed me up for bio. then i had to take chem sophomore year and ochem junior year. i shouldn't have listened to her, neither chem or bio was very hard and i should have just gotten them both out of the way freshmen year!

the shop by my house has this new icecream flavor that's chocolate with oreos and fudge...so good! and it made my sore throat feel better🙂

damn, that sounds so good. hook me up

is that what happened last night?

😳, I am reading through my posts and I did make a few posts on random bacardi mixes that I was experimenting and also noted that I didn't drink enough to put me to sleep.

I think I'm going to do the MCAT at the end of May of my junior year.

it's not the alcohol brah, from your history here i feel you have some serious issues with respecting women.

taking it junior year also gives you more cushion for reapps and glide years should the dreaded need arise

I used to in high school. Like I was the type that wouldn't talk to girls I thought were ugly etc. I've changed a lot since then and have a lot of females in my life that would personally disagree with you. That being said, alcohol induces a lot of obnoxiousness from everyone and sometimes you forget to be PC. I went back and deleted most everything I thought could be conceived as offensive and I apologize for my **** show last night.

If I do poorly in May of Junior year, I'll get the scores back in June and could do a retake in July get scores back in August and still apply that cycle?

Exactly what I did. 22 May --> ~22 June scores... Already signed up for 31 July retake few days after the test.

I also submitted my primary in Mid-July before I even retook the test. Luckily everything worked out. Obviously, if you can avoid this...i'd highly recommend it

So my weight fluctuates like 5 pounds a week... Literally today it's saying I'm 5 pounds lighter than Tuesday.

A new low weight since I started this whole thing 👍

I needed to see that after last night.

are you measuring your weight at the same time of the day?

in the morning after waking up, you will be at your lightest and at night, you will be your heaviest

Usually at night, but it fluctuates a ton then too.

Oh well. Lower numbers are pretty. Lol.

Hopefully I am successful on my first attempt lol. But I'm glad things worked out for you and I will probably follow in your footsteps.

He has a point Oakland...

I never said he was completely wrong. If you truly feel that way then I am sorry and will have to look into it as it may be a problem. I know for a fact that girls I have known from high school that go to OU with me have told me that it's an area I have improved in. That doesn't mean that there isn't any issues.

That's awesome. It's always nice to see lower numbers than usual on the scale.

Well I'm glad you're improving 👍

not sure i'd suggest that course of action -- it really depends on what you get and how the questions aligned with your knowledge base. Retaking as soon as you get scores back doesn't give you much time to review the weak parts of your knowledge and you run the risk of doing worse the second time. if you do poorly, I'd say study a ton and take a gap year -- although I'd advocate a gap year to anyone -- even 2 🙂

just got back from a 8 mile run/11 mile walk -- really need a shower. hopefully when I get back Maryland won't be losing 🙂 ACC love 😍

for all those in DC -- the C&O trail has replaced the National Mall as my fav place to run!! http://www.yelp.com/biz/c-and-o-canal-washington

That is always an option that I will be considering. It does all depend on how the cookie crumbles.

that's awesome sammich! even if it fluctuates, a new low must mean you're doing something right🙂

good job on the run caniac!!!

Oh, crap - sorry.

You WILL get in off one of those lists :xf::luck:

I'm really hoping I'm just directly accepted by Jeff. Everything about that school felt right to me. I know it's hard to gauge just from a few hours on interview day, but it really did.

Thanks for the support and don't be sorry at all! I'm over my debbie downer @med school phase and am staying pretty positive these days.

Wow, I took the time out of my very busy, high-profile life to catch up. Actually, I'm back at school now and I don't want to study. :d

oakland- You better respect them ladies OR ELSE.
Tat- I want a cool space cape like yours!
Sammich- You are super cool and beautiful the way you are.

I remember I was going to say congrats somewhere...but I can't remember to whom, so congrats to everyone for being awesome!

I actually got the DJ to play a few tracks I wanted to hear last night by showing him my cell phone. WIN. and the crowd approved
