Assuming it does pass I'm not happy. I'll wait it out to see what goes down with regards to reimbursment and the state of PP, but I'm ready to walk if the situation warrants it.

of course the dems have done this vocally calling of "we have the votes" the last three times they failed, so we'll see.

Honestly, compared to many of the proposals that were thrown around for the past year, this is a pretty tame bill. I do think it fixes some of the problems with insurance, which is good, but as far as people saying things like it will drastically plunge doctors into poverty -- sorry, I don't see it. Not in this bill. (But if someone wants to point it out to me, I'd be happy to listen)

On the one hand, I think some progress is better than no progress, but my big worry is a situation where the bill passes, doesn't accomplish much (or somehow even manages to make the system worse) and prevents future progress.

This is my worry as well.

For people who are sincerely afraid of massive government takeover, this bill just isn't it. There isn't even a public option included in the final bill to my knowledge. It remains to be seen whether it will actually improve our current messed-up system, however. I agree that if this doesn't work, we won't get another shot at it for another 10-15 years at least. Here's to hoping it does what it's supposed to do...
