Any tennis players in here? First time out last night... GLORIOUS
People that go to Harvard fail at life.
Pretty much true... only the people who drop out from Harvard (or are rejected, as the article pointed out), make it big 😎
Notta brook... sup in Philly?
I'm bursting at the seams to get out of this hospital so I can go enjoy the weather

are you going to ask him any strictly hypothetical questions about any "friends" of yours? The dean of admissions from a school that waitlisted me is coming to give a speach to premeds at my UG tomorrow.I think I'm gonna go.

"so let's say i have a friend who is waitlisted at your school..."
haha why are you heavily recruiting me? there are people with natural born talent for that sort of thing and I am not one of them 🙁tats i dont think it necessarily means a bad decision but if it does, you can join the duke hater wagon now, i am heavily recruiting you
Heck yes I will. I am actually really excited, I want to run full marathons.Yo tats. You'll be alright. Just go run a 26.2 😀
mcnabb is likely gone by the end of the week

i notice this for stuffy/runny noses, tooIt's weird how when your lips are chapped, all you can think about is how nice it would be if they weren't. But then when they are normal, you don't even notice.

I'm still not used to it being bright outside at nearly 7pm.
I do horribly with 1 hour time adjustments - it takes me weeks to fully acclimate.![]()
not looking forward to the traffic though![]()
haha i'm experiencing that right now! same with my stuffy nose- i only really appreciate how nice it is to breathe out of when i can't do it😛

va tech is playing today, jackson you watchin
whenever i look up the worst traffic list, i get different answers (some cities are always there)
i hate when drivers slow down to watch accidents on the side of the road
I'm really interested in knowing what made you pick Harvard over the other schools you were accepted! What was it about it that won you over?Pretty much true... only the people who drop out from Harvard (or are rejected, as the article pointed out), make it big 😎

I currently have a miserable sinus infx. I experienced a weird phenomenon last night - I woke up at least 10 times within an hour coughing or needing to blow my nose. But what's odd is every time I looked at the clock it was like 5 minutes from the last time, but I'd had a full and superelaborate dream in those short bursts of time. I kept feeling sure I'd been asleep for 2-3 hrs, but the clock kept saying 3 something. I know from psychology class how dreaming works, but it's never been so chronologically disorienting! >_< and I still feel weird all dayyyyyyyyYeah that too, especially trying to sleep at night.
So I think I've decided to drive to Richmond for spring break with the gf.
This could turn out to be a pretty cool road trip if I do it right. I have 2 options:
1) the Atlantic Coast, from Savannah up to Norfolk then to Richmond
2) the Appalachians, from Atlanta up through the mountains (via Blue Ridge Parkway) to Charlottesville then to Richmond
AHHHhhhh you went there for undergrad! Gotcha! I was just thinking...in undergrad the diff between state schools and top private schools is somewhat tangible, tho education is usually what you make of it. (I chose state school scholarship over other offers for undergrad, but can tell there is still some difference in the end.) But at this high level of education, is there really much of a difference between schools in terms of greatness? Or perhaps it is just a personal preference at this point. I was just picking your brain to see what snared you for med school!for undergrad or (potentially) med school?

I guess I misunderstood - which one are you leaning most towards atm?
I hate traffic in Cali.Is home in SoCal?
I've never been to Cali but I know there's a lot of traffic there.
you could go one way on the way there than one way on the way back? both options have some beautiful scenery. va tech is ~ 10 minutes out of the way if you go option 2...you can stop by and visit for me🙂
we lost the game though🙁
I hate traffic in Cali.
Made me late so many times!!!
I spent the last two summers doing an internship at UCI Medical Center.Unfortunately, there will be no cool road trip option on the way back - just straight interstate, since I have to get back in time for school. 👎
Looking at routes, scenery and such, I think I'm choosing the Atlantic Coast - I might get to pass through the outer banks of NC.
You used to live in Cali?

hmm at this point, without knowing financial aid offers and without having been to any second looks, i'll likely stay at harvard. the HST program is very small, so interacting one-on-one with world-renowned faculty is a guarantee. the research emphasis will make it easier to involve myself in some projects i am interested in pursuing. also i've now got strong personal ties to boston and would love to stay where my significant other/many of my friends will be.
if HST ends up being too expensive, i am looking seriously at duke (for similar opportunities to do research) and hopkins (because it felt right on my interview day).
Don't go to North Carolina....it will kill your dreams. So as of now, the road trip plan goes...
- NOLA to Savannah
- Savannah to Charleston
- Charleston to Myrtle Beach
- Myrtle Beach to the ocean...
- where I take a ferry to the NC outer banks
- outer banks to Roanoke and Kitty Hawk
- then to Virginia Beach
- Virginia Beach to Richmond
I really hope I can pull all of that off in my short timeframe.
