None of my time would be spent near that place. Most of it off of the continental US.

I could wear a UNC - Duke Sucks type shirt while I'm there for you.
its ok.
i just feel like such a loser for thinking i actually had a chance.

haha..i wasn't trying to be insensitive...but it was a funny comment. haha
lol I know. I meant for it to be funny. 🙂
I will be out of my funk in a wee bit time peeps. This one is stinging a bit 🙁

So as of now, the road trip plan goes...
- NOLA to Savannah
- Savannah to Charleston
- Charleston to Myrtle Beach
- Myrtle Beach to the ocean...
- where I take a ferry to the NC outer banks
- outer banks to Roanoke and Kitty Hawk
- then to Virginia Beach
- Virginia Beach to Richmond

I really hope I can pull all of that off in my short timeframe.

Tell my roomie hi when you are in Myrtle Beach!!! Or just watch the news there and wave at the TV when she is on.

Is home in SoCal?

I've never been to Cali but I know there's a lot of traffic there.

no! we're fb friends you should know 😏

yea man **** traffic, top 5 worst things in life

#1 for me 😡

i hate when drivers slow down to watch accidents on the side of the road

we think alike brooky 👍

im so jealous, i planned a socal road trip for this wknd but it didnt work out! its been a while since i was last in Disneyland 😳

I know how you feel - for me it's Ohio State, UVA, Vandy and Baylor.

But you know what - it's their loss! Do awesome in med school, get a vengeance residency there and knock their socks off.

In a completely unrelated topic, I love the llamaworm! I don't really get it, but I love it.

Taty- I'm sorry to hear about the school that shall remain unnamed. 🙁 I know how much you wanted it, but life goes on and you're going to make a kick ass doctor so eff them.

lstone and Zona- Good news will come. It has to. I don't think anyone here will have it any other way. 🙂 :luck:

We no longer acknowledge their existence. Except maybe when jla needs advice. But otherwise there is no such thing as Duke.

I see sorry about what happened, I know you wanted it a lot. Will definitely be rooting for Purdue this Friday.

MMMMmmmm, tri-colored couscous with onions, macademia nut crusted mahi mahi, sauteed broccoli and roasted garlic potatoes....be jealous, people 😉
Cooking dinner is my zen...I hope I am able to sustain this habit in med school. How is everyone this evening??

Hmmm, I still don't know. Santa Cruz?

I get that a lot. 👍

Met that's a tight road trip... you going with anybody?

Unfortunately, I don't think the road trip is happening...

First there wasn't enough time to do everything I listed, so I cut it to just the NC outer banks.

Then I called my parents and they said the point of me potentially driving would be for it to be cheaper, which it wouldn't be cheaper if I did that stuff. I'm too poor to put any extra money on top of what they would have paid for a plane ticket. They said they would give me a final decision tomorrow.

🙁 🙁 🙁

Don't go to North Carolina....it will kill your dreams.

its ok.
i just feel like such a loser for thinking i actually had a chance.

First of all, Duke is not really a part of NC. It's a suburb of Jersey. The Founders wanted to buy Princeton to be Ivy League yous-ins, but they said no and unfortunately Duke ended up in the piedmont of beautiful NC. So they are a bunch of yanks with a chip on their shoulder, cocky (maybe deserved) attitudes, and a mildly successful/cheating, clearly homo-erotic basketball team. You'll be much happier, less stressed, and equally or more successful somewhere more relaxed. That's just my opinion....I got waitlisted. And I'm a UNC fan. But my opinion is still right. 😳

So definitely enjoy NC on the roadtrip metalica, and Tatas...do you really want to go to a school that strings you along like that. You deserve better!

It would be MY PLEASURE!! I love cooking for other people 😀
I only go out to eat about once every two weeks, and it's usually for something I can't make at home (like sushi). Otherwise I cook dinner every night and I make fruit/protein/fiber smoothies every day for breakfast. <3 a healthy life 😛

If I come to Dartmouth, can I come over for dinner and watch you guys make out?

I'm assuming you are both lady-docs.

I think the one thing that all stages of the application process have in common is the endless waiting. 😛 At first I was impatient with it all, now I'm just apathetic... Trent Reznor says it best.

Hahaha, that made me laugh..

You know what? I think I kissed a girl once...and I liked it 😛
(I still can't believe that Katy Perry made a music video of that song without kissing a girl in it...blasphemy)

was referring to person inquiring about jla's harvardness with the ninja related tagline
burn.
For the sake of honor, I should probably commit seppuku with a frisbee.
But to my defense, I only read the basics of her student profile, not the blog details. I read profiles sometimes coz I hate making ppl repeat things they've said a thousand times, but I haven't been here all that long and don't know the running history but still wanna be friends >_<
As for my ninjitsu atm, I'm sick and the world looks fuzzy T_T

But if you require more legit ninjaness than I can offer you right now, I shall direct your attention to:
Enjoy ^_^

Heh, I really wish it was Thursday...evidently my interview group is hearing from Hopkins either Thursday or Friday of this week :scared:
(I really just want to be able to detach myself from my phone for a few minutes in the afterrnoon/evening...it'll be nice when this is all over. I *know* I am not alone out there.)

(Reuters) - What's the value of a pint of beer? Let the market decide, says a new restaurant in Manhattan where prices for food and beverages will fluctuate like stock prices in increments according to demand.
Lifestyle
The Exchange Bar & Grill, set amid the bustling shops and pubs of the Grammercy Park neighborhood, is replete with a ticker tape flashing menu prices in red lettering as demand forces them to fluctuate.
Customers can move prices for all beverages and bar snacks such as hot wings ($7 for 6 pieces) or fried calamari ($9). The prices will fluctuate in $.25 cent increments, but will most likely plateau at a $2 change in either direction.
A glass of Guinness starts at $6 but could be pushed to a high of $8 or a low of $4, depending on popularity.
So if one drink is in heavy demand, its price will rise, causing the cost of other equivalent drinks to drop. A rush on a particular beer would increase its price, and cause other beers to drop.
Owners Levent Cakar and Damon Bae admit the stock exchange theme is a gimmick but hope a good deal on drinks and their hamburger's tastiness will win over customers.
"Its definitely something a little bit different," said Bae. "There is a little bit of a twist."
Bae, 35, who has an MBA from Georgetown University and Cakar, a veteran restaurant hand, combined forces to open the airy lounge, which serves up to 60 people.
The Exchange Bar & Grill has a long bar facing the ticker tape -- and flat screen televisions -- as well as a few tables in the back where patrons can eat in greater comfort.
Restaurants in New York and across America have had a tough year because consumers have slashed discretionary spending in a tough economic climate. New York has about 23,000 restaurants, with about 4,400 opening each year according to the city's Department of Health, which tracks establishment licenses.
The number of sit-down restaurants in New York dropped 9 percent from the fall of 2008 to 2009, according to market research firm NPD Group.
Good prices and a good location should be enough to make their project work, Bae said. And, Cakar added, put in a dash of speculation and you've got a winning recipe.
"Why couldn't we play with the prices like a stock market?" said Cakar, who explained that when he mentioned the bar's concept to his liquor distributors, they laughed at him.
"One day you are all going to come to me to put your drinks on my ticker tape," he told them.
The restaurant opens April 1.

business school alumni average per dollar earnings per tuition dollar spent

Sunshine State: University of Central Florida (Central Florida Undergraduate Profile) in Orlando; University of Florida (Florida Undergraduate Profile) in Gainesville; Florida International (Florida International Undergraduate Profile) in Miami; and Florida State (Florida State Undergraduate Profile) in Tallahassee. At the University of Central Florida, graduates earn $11.70 per annual tuition dollar.

Rounding out the top five is the Kenan-Flagler Business School (Kenan-Flagler Undergraduate Profile) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, whose graduates earn $9.78 per annual tuition dollar.

The Marriott School of Management (Marriott Undergraduate Profile) at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, is neck-and-neck with the public Florida schools for ROI, and topped the list of private programs. Marriott students, most of whom are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, earn $11.56 per annual tuition dollar.

Joining Marriott among the top five undergraduate business programs for ROI at private schools are, in order, Cornell (Cornell Undergraduate Profile); DePaul (DePaul Undergraduate Profile); MIT Sloan School of Management (Sloan Undergraduate Profile); and Hofstra's Zarb School of Business (Hofstra Undergraduate Profile). Cornell, the Ivy League bargain, ranked fifth overall in the 2010 list of top undergraduate business programs. The undergraduate business program resides in the part of the private university that receives public support, which helps keep tuition costs down. In fact, its $22,000-per-year tuition is about 25% to 50% lower than tuition at the other Ivy League schools, says Edward McLaughlin, director of the undergraduate business program at Cornell. But Cornell—whose graduates earn $2.52 per annual tuition dollar, far less than front-runner Marriott.
