Nothing much Hoody. God I wish I would've chosen football over medicine, my friend got recruited to Texas to play linebacker, ended up choosing MSU instead, but get this: He told me that the team sets up parties for recruits to get laid. I didn't believe it until I read this article.

If possible id have done the same. Too bad im azn with no athletic talent and 5ft 8 lol. Its gotta be sick to be at that level and be a blue chipper.

Yeah, I went to way small of a school. I had my opportunities at different football camps, but the coaches there wanted me to change my throwing motion... I looked at them and said, "I throw harder than anyone here." They got pissed that I wouldn't budge, but I led my team playoffs each year playing QB and safety. At one point we had won a game while only having 10 players due to injury.

LOL...first of all, I was kidding and quoting a song. Something tells me I am never going to live that comment down, though 😉

And second- Family Guy FTW!! 😀

great show, south park is better tho. i think the family guy creators aren't really trying anymore 🙁

doesnt seem too major, more like a slap on the wrist type deal not a huge loss in scholarships or something.

Yea, happens all the time, that's what they do on recruiting visits. The other MSU, Mississippi State, takes their recruits to strip clubs 😀

:lame:

And this past year was not a rape - nobody played well. Yall only won by a touchdown (which was BS since Cooper pulled down our corner).

Well, a TD and a FG, but who's counting  Coop's move is legit, Murphy did the same exact thing vs. UGA the year before for a TD. Our receivers are taught to PI as much as they can get away with 👍

I can't solve this effing logic proof and my exam is in less than 8 hours.

:bang:

Channel your inner mdog!

OU recruits basketball players by having them come smoke hooka @ the chill spot across campus 🙂

Dang, you shoulda transferred to a bigger school then. That's what kids do here at Florida. Those recruiting visits alone are worth it. Plus, that's mad unique EC so you can still go med after college.

Have you ever been to Starkvegas? You would know why if you went. I'm sure it's the best thing they can offer.

South Park kills family guy.

Fo sho

You never realize how bad Family Guy is until you watch the South Park episode about the writers' strike.

I still like Family Guy, but South Park is so much better - the best social commentary out there.

Florida kids play year round. I'm only 6 foot 1 and that's definitely considered short for college. Lloyd Carr told me I wasn't a natural quarterback, but he told me if I gained 20 lbs he'd consider me at lineman (I played offensive and defensive lineman freshman and sophomore year and went to camp's for lineman back then).

Straight up though, I feel like I was the best quarterback to take organic chem in high school. I think that's a pretty fair assumption.

lol starkvegas, first time hearing that. heard their female population is also of far inferior quality than ole miss for some reason.

and that writers strike episode = epic. not only was it hilarious, but the way it weaved 2 plots together seamlessly was just perfect

Starkvegas, is that like Deja Vu?

Yeah, it's funny cause South Park shows Muhammad in the david blaine episode lol.

didnt want to do lineman i take it?

and honestly family guy has been declining for a while. I used to like it more then southpark but its not even close now. I wish i didnt have ot catch everything on sidereel or hulu though!

That's because Oxford is waaaay better than Starkville. Apparently Ole Miss has some of the most attractive girls in the country. I wouldn't know.

There's a lot of coke addicts there and at Bama - I know that much.

Starkvegas is the LSU fanbase's nickname for Starkville. There really is nothing there. And it's smack in between 2 interstates, so it's not easy to get to, it's a dry county...

lol, you can still own it up in med school.

speaking of which, i remember during my interview at Vandy, one of the tour guides was telling us about football games between their different societies. Since SO's are allowed to participate as well, this one girl dated a football player, but her team still lost. I was like "haha, yea, i'm not surprised."

Didn't wanna put on 20 lbs (although I did gain my freshman 15 lol and my sophomore 7 lol). Plus like as a quarterback I didn't really have to lift weights for bulk and practice was so much more chill. I really hurt my shoulder playing lineman and it screwed up my sophomore baseball season (I was a pitcher), so I got really paranoid to play lineman after that. After I rehabbed my shoulder I came out throwing faster and like a lot faster too. I had dislocated it.

at 6'1 they'd prolly want to make him a DT. unless you have serious pro potential idk why anybody would want to be 6'1 300 lbs.

I love throwing it around once in a while. I can't give the time commitment to any intramural teams (although I would love to and probably will senior year), but I always end up getting together with my friends and we end up playing on our old high school field. Every Thanksgiving my high school throws an alumni game too. Someone always gets a bloody nose at those events though cause of the one 41 year old guy who takes it too seriously.

Any of you guys play any hs sports? I did Football, Baseball, Basketball. Sports I wish I was good at? Tennis, soccer, and fishing (even though I'm decent, I wanna be really really good one day).

I played roller hockey for about 3 games until I dislocated my kneecap and tore my MCL.

I haven't actually seen that movie, I know it's about an old guy who ends up playing in the MLB. Unfortunately for me, I wasn't even the best pitcher at my school. Our best pitcher walked on at OU, so you can tell our level of sports wasn't exactly upper echelon. But we did decent, baseball went to State Finals our freshman year.

I need a good movie to watch. Im watching Friday now. eating frosting, lol.

No, that was The Rookie.

Rookie of the Year was in the 90s, it was the kid that broke his arm and threw 100mph+ fastballs, so he played for the Cubs.

Man, I haven't played organized sports since I came to the states. Funny how things change, I used to be a better athlete than student, then I dropped it altogether and somehow became pretty good at math. Now I've dropped that and going into med.

i did basketball though i knew it wasnt going to go anywhere and i wasnt the next spud webb lol. But still love it to this day only wish i was taller so maybe i could have made something out of it (or at least went to college for free and not have this 25k in debt.)

I used to play travel soccer for a while, but quit when I started high school. I used to love soccer, but people on my team started being douches, so I quit - it kind of tainted my love for the sport.

I used to play it a lot too, but after trying out some soccer courses, I realized I wasn't cut out for it. I just had no field awareness, I couldn't concentrate on two things at a time, so I couldn't ever find people to pass too

Yeah, basketball sucks unless your 6 foot 5+

It's really humbling to play sports now because like I don't work out nearly enough and I've gained weight and lost coordination and stuff. I can barely throw in the 80's now pitching while I used to be able to get up there. All the muscle memory has atrophied too.

My problem was that I was always put on defense when I was more of a midfielder or forward. I never quite understood the offsides rule, so a lot of times I wouldn't step forward when it would benefit the defense and get a call.

I sucked playing defense in soccer. I'm a really big guy and it's hard to stop your momentum so I always ended up fouling and running people over. I wasn't nimble to say the least.

I hope I'm not interrupting your man talk. I just wanted to wish Sammich good luck on her logic exam tomorrow/today! :luck:

I don't think I was a forward or midfielder or anything, but +1 on not knowing when to step forward.

This happens so much with guitar.

I could play the guitar every day for months, but if I don't practice the same song over and over, I will forget it and take forever to remember the patterns to play it correctly. It sucks. I think I've forgotten more songs in the past 3 years than I've learned.

Excuse me Ms. Sexist, but women can play and talk about sports too.

+1 on wishing sammich luck :luck::xf::luck:

I bet. I tried guitar when I was like 10. It just didn't interest me for some reason. My parents wanted me to play piano and guitar, I wanted to go outside and sweat it out. Are you into like rock or did you play classic guitar?

Hah, I was always more of a forward, although IMO I probably fit in on defense better. But my school's team sucked, we got blasted 26-0 this once against one of those recruiting teams

I guess I was OK at ping pong too 😀

I play mostly rock, heavy metal, 80s metal - that kind of stuff. But I love soft instrumental stuff, even though I could never fingerpick all that well.

Give me some nice clean bluesy type stuff and I can go for a while, but I prefer the heavy.

I do love playing lots of really heavy stuff but then busting out something clean and pretty - it's unexpected.

Plus, the singer-songwriter type stuff is what people (girls) want anyway.

lol right.

Yeah slap down a nice bluesy lick, I can enjoy the roots of rock and roll as well lol.

You ever tried tapping?

P.S. the ER today was extremely one sided towards absolutely despising the bill. Seriously, my favorite nurse who happens to have hair as short as mine, and just so happens to be a lesbian who voted for Obama, was even pissed about the bill and telling me how it will give Doctor's pointless protocols and not allow for patients to stay at the hospital as long as they will need to. It's quite unfortunate how different the hospital was today than it is regularly.

Hellz yeah, that's one of the first things you learn how to do when you're trying to shred.

Now, I can't quite get 8 or 10 finger tapping down (that's the stuff that sounds like Mario coins) - but that's okay. Search for Buckethead on Youtube if you want an example of that stuff.

I don't know. Bunch of guys talking = man talk. A bunch of guys talking about their feelings still is man talk...nevermind, not really. I actually just wanted to say that one thing to Sammich and I needed a segue. I guess it wasn't as smooth as I thought.

lol right.

haha @ playing the guitar with your dong!!! Did you see the dave chappelle with jon mayer? Priceless how all the business ladies strip.

Everyone's gotta have their niche.

I got invited to a wedding in May and I know this guy that i totally used to dig is going to be there. I think I will use that as motivation at the gym.

Haha it's cool. I had history of rock n roll w/ the head of the music department during the summer. I learned a lot about guitar and specifically rock and jamming out. I wouldn't have known about the deep African American roots of rock and roll, that's for sure.

Hoody, you make 80k a year. If you want to impress a guy, you roll up in one of these:

I'm sure you can rent one from somewhere.
