things that i will do when i quit work

1) sleep in
2) work out around 1pm when Golds is EMPTY
3) ceremonially burn all of my business suits except 1 or 2. Eh they're too big now as it is, and I'm sure they'll be out of style by the time I have to wear them on a regular basis again...
4) go to trivia night EVERY NIGHT -- hell, just bar hop
5) see all there is to see in DC. I've lived here 2 years and never done the tourist thing -- maybe go to the tourist sites in philly?
6) take a cooking class. I'm currently eating cold progresso soup as 2nd breakfast....

thanks for posting that - i wouldn't have gone to look for it for a few weeks...

and i'm sorry their financial aid sucks 🙁 could you call them like people in the jhu thread are suggesting? perhaps when you have your scholarship from washu to leverage? 😎

I wish.

you never had family or friends come and visit in DC? i get so tired of taking people to independence hall/liberty bell/atlantic city and stuff. but yea, i'll def hit them up again

Hey guys...if you have a friend who you know has kind of a biting sense of humor who told you that they wont visit you at a school you are going to because they hate the state it is in (and they actually name the wrong state in the first place)-would you think it is crossing the line?

idk, i have tons of friends like that but i know they are just joking or something

I know. I am fine with most of his jokes but I think he doesn't realize that sometimes he crosses the line between teasing and being plain mean. I don't really take offense to that stuff but when I try to let him know that he isn't coming across the way he thinks he is...he gets so defensive and acts like I am upset and makes a huge deal out of it.

i think a lot of them will

i wonder if people who, at the beginning, said financial aid will be a factor will just settle with a bad award to go to school of choice because it's been so long and have probably formed favorites by now.

Penn's my favorite so I'm going there for sure... just hoping my financial aid package is at least decent. I just loved penn so much more than the other schools I got accepted to so yea I'm definitely playing favorites...

edit: so yea my point was there are people out there (like me) who do this 🙂

sounds like someone has a crush 😛

I was born in MD, and my folks are the only ones that have visited for any set period of time who weren't planning to move here.

depends on if you could tell if they were definitely joking or not. I've told friends that "I can't go visit you at Carolina -- I hate the tarheels 😛" but it was said in jest with a little emoticon just in case.

If he was joking, its a slightly douchey joke but a joke nonetheless. If he's not, then you don't need friends like that. Or they can be part-time friends for when you go home for holidays.

i'm starting to lean one way as well, and I don't know if financial aid will play a factor anymore. I've already chalked up an L to debt, so what's a little more to be happy?

these revisits are sooo crucial.

I know he was joking. But when someone tells you "just so you know, there no way I'm visiting you in Mississippi (when you are going to a school in Louisiana...)"
it is kind of a slap in the face especially I am really excited to go to Tulane next year and this dude is a bit of a prestige ***** (he has to be...he is applying to law schools)
Whatever...maybe I was just hungry and grumpy when this happened.

oh, if he meant it in that way, then its kind of douchey

i thought he had like a kindergarten crush on you and was like "im not gonna visit you, you visit me silly" kinda thing

Oh lawd...I am almost 23, when does kindergarten end?!
I would so love for there to be less drama in my life, def a fan of being oblivious.

my roommate always says this to me too about never me visiting florida. except i am pretty sure she is serious, since she hates warmth and sunshine (and, by extension, happiness) 😎 but i don't take it personally.

man i would totally donate my eggs if i had them
yeah, but I think they have to harvest them or whatever, and Im not sure how they do that, but it could be painful. not quite at easy as the boys have it. 😛

That's a lot of dough.

i have to agree with her. I HATE florida and I'm from there. I hated warmth and sunshine too. southern-most school i applied to for undergrad was JHU. in college, i went to seattle for spring break when everyone went to an island.

i'm starting to ease up to it a little, but will take a rainy day or sun 100% of the time.

I'm getting some of that too "ohh, yeah the only reason I'd go visit you there is the theme park...", etc. BS.

comebacks:

"at least I know where I'm headed" <--meanest retort, but really stings
"I won't visit you in Mississippi either"
"then you'll just have to pay full price for medical care"
"no beads for you"

at least then you've tacitly acknowledged that he's being a jerk, and maybe he'll lay off. Or maybe he's too oblivious for that, at which point he's got no business going into the law, will fail the LSAT, and end up being a motivational speaker living in a van down by the river...well, maybe not that far 😛....

I replied with a mean joke of my own and he got all offended. Something to the tune of "yea only friends would make that kind of a sacrifice"
when I told him that if he is going to dish it, he gotta be able to take it.

it irritates me that on teen cribs, 90% of the parents are business related and/or "entrepreneurs". I wish they'd say what they do!

that kid with the basketball rebounder thing is cool. I'd love to have that...

Ok, gotta go attempt to do an experiment that will put some numbers of that that poster I gotta present in like 3 weeks...eeek
it involves organic synthesis...I havent done that since freshman year!

When I was looking for a "you go girl" picture to post for Taty, I came across this:

goGirl_3Danim_FPO.png

Ok, so what’s a GoGirl?
Simply put, GoGirl is the way to stand up to crowded, disgusting, distant or non-existent bathrooms. It’s a female urination device (sometimes called a FUD) that allows you to urinate while standing up. It’s neat. It’s discreet. It’s hygienic.

For interested parties, you can watch a demo on their website of how it works

It's such a beautiful day outside!!! I think I may go run in the park after work today.

Did anything in particular help you come to this assertion about boys? Or are you saying this in reference to Taty's boy troubles?
