Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, more than just the Polish president too. The head of the Army, the Chief of Staff, the deputy Foreign Minister, and head of the opposition party, the first lady, and the list goes on....

man this time of the morning is always dead on this thread,

well, good morning morning peeps!

man, i'm laying the smackdown on the mcat Q&A board

I'll go check it out, man I've forgotten everything I've learned in O-Chem and Gen-Chem and Physics :/, I'm really contemplating taking a review course for the MCAT.

I don't really think review courses are all that useful, I think the EK books + the EK1001 questions are all you need. But hey, what works for me might not work for everybody else.

Man, you are really good at these MCAT questions. I feel like I might need to dedicate more than just 3 months to studying for it by looking at these questions people are asking.

Well you seem like the MCAT boss and a half right now lol. I'm not as confident in my ability as I should be and feel as though my institution may not have prepared me as much as I thought they would.

Well, it's easy to look good when you can pick and choose which questions to answer

3 months might be enough if you can dedicate fully to the MCAT. I really only dedicated maybe about a month and half to it, but I was doing it full time, like a job, and I went at it very systematically.

My goal right now is to take the TPR class winter semester and have it end at the end of April, I'll take the MCAT end of May and so I'll have 1 more month to just study off the Exam Kracker books. It'll be like 1 month of studying 3-4 hours everyday and taking practice full-lengths on the weekends. It might not be the best way to approach it, but I think after having the class I will just be working on my weaknesses and kind've polishing everything up.

Heck, it doesn't really matter which institution you go to, since by the time most people take the MCAT, it'd be a year or more(for me it was like 3 years) removed from taking the relevant courses and you'd have forgotten everything already. I'd start with reading MCAT books, I used the Kaplan one, though I find the EK one better these days. You'll build a good conceptual basis that way, then start doing practice problems like a madman. The EK1001 is really good because the way they slowly build up in difficulty one question after another, allowing you to relate between problems of seemingly different types.

That probably makes the most sense. That first two weeks will be spent just reading the books. I'll just do 1 section i.e. PS until I finish and then start the other etc. till I finish all three sections. The next to weeks will just be 3-4 hours of practice problems each day from a diff. section and then like an hour of verbal practice a day. I wonder if I can finish those books in a month though, we'll find out.

I wonder if we can be the only ones who post for this entire page before anyone else wakes up? I have to leave at 10 a.m. to meet a professor at a museum, hopefully I get some type of extra credit or something for this. I really need all the help I can get in my classes right now, I sat thru an Israeli archaeology lecture that proved King David existed for 5 extra credit points. I'm pulling all the stops lol.

That seems to be the plan for most of my students as well, since I teach the Jan - Apr MCAT class for TPR. I think that's a pretty good plan, except I might consolidate all the full-lengths to the last week. For example, I did a crapload of problems during my preparations, and I didn't start taking full-length exams until about 4 days before. I only took I think 3 full-lengths ones, it was like 33, 36, 39, so I was pretty confident that I got better with each practice exam as I continually got a better hang of what the MCAT looks for in their answers.

Anyhow, gotta go to sleep now, have to wake up for the Orange and Blue game 👍

Sadly I gotta leave now

You wanted Miami in the Finals didn't you?

P.S. my wings are tearing it up and so are my Tigs; feels good to be a Detroiter.

I'm skipping my church-run homeless BBQ today in order to go to a museum with a prof. What you been up to Hoodz?

Having a rough night....got written up by a CNA for some very tedious crap. Uggh. I try not to micromanage my workers, and this is what I get in return. One of the specifics in the write up was that my scrubs often expose my underwear. SORRY I am freaking skinny, I will try to tie my pants tighter. 🙄

The worst part is, I am actually trying to go somewhere and crap like this goes in my folder. The CNA is freaking 40ish and not going anywhere. sigh. 🙁

Ugh, I hate when underwear is exposed, it's like super inappropriate. In my perfect world, women would wear turtle necks and dresses to their ankles 🙄

That's ridiculous though. It's whatev, you make 80k a year, she probably makes 30k a year not even.

I'm actually pretty mad that I'm missing this barbecue. I'm basically a grill master. Like, I can actually cater to peoples orders and still be able to get the food cooked quickly, i.e. medium-rare burger + burnt hotdog no problem. I do it every month and I can definitely tell some of the homeless that come each time know me now and always want me to cook for them. Plus, even though my church runs it, a lot of people come from other churches to help out and I get to mac and spit my "I'm a good-guy" game 😎. To my youth pastor's disliking, I usually end up with at least 1 #.

Haha, one of my boys from my EMT-class went on to do medic and he's at his labor and delivery clinical right now and he is sending me these ridiculous texts. I don't think I could be in an environment like that and not crack-up. I bawled the first time I saw a cadaver, I literally was just rolling at the male cadaver. The female cadaver, on the other hand, scarred me for life.

Yeah, Oky, I'm gonna try to blow it off....but there were a few comments thrown around ("you could lose your job for this", "these things could be reported to the BON", etc) that have me on the edge. Furthermore they should adequately investigate the claims before accusing someone of the committing them. IDK. 🙁

boot WOOTCAKES on the 2000.

and I can't wait to play in cadavers. I'll make sure to write this in my primary for CCLM so they can exclude me based on that alone. :meanie:

Haha, it'll all work itself out. If you get fired for your underwear being exposed it's probably not the type of place you want to be working at anyways. It seems like it would take them a lot more work to find a new nurse and train them than to just talk to you and tell you it shouldn't happen again.

I don't know how to put this, but I'm class of 2016, yet I think it's appropriate to throw me under Decided (Harvard).

Alright I'm out. Shoutout to all the morning peeps though (even though I have become one for today). I'll probably be on late at night tonight, i.e. 15 hours from now. C ya guys then!

Druuuuunk

Love tally.

Malibu and diet.

All bought for me. Wordapotanus.

At ihop.

Yeah. Be super mega jealous.

Haha sammy - I don't drink (i've had like 3 shots in my life before) and my friends convinced me to have shots.... 3 of them at my party last night. Apparently I have a really high metabolism, I already have no inhibitions and do stupid stuff anyway - so I felt nothing :meanie: Good times.

Yea EK + EK1001 really is ALL you need (and the AAMC practice tests online of course). I have never heard anyone say the review courses were helpful.
