I'm a very different person from who I was when I entered college... I wonder if med school will have as much of an effect? I feel like I'm a lot more solidified as a person, so I don't know that my personality will necessarily change, but I could see my outlook changing as medical school rolls by. We shall see. 🙂

I personally refuse to change, I'm not going to let my institution or my peers affect me at all :bang:
 
I'm also much different than when I started ugrad. I know I will be different for the better after medical school also.... When I reflect on this sort of thing I feel there is so much to work on still.... I'm not a solidified person as Stein said.

I wish I could take off more time inbetween ugrad and med school... too much I want to do 😕

But my parents would kill me

I think med school will definitely have more effect than undergrad.

I'd believe it. Although, I think in general M1's are quite a bit more mature than freshmen in undergrad, with a lot more sense of self, if that makes any sense. I would not be surprised, however, to look back four years from now and see a very different person who has yet to experience the... joys of medical school. :laugh:

lol... absolutely.

My perspective is that you are at your peak when you finish medical school... ready to burst onto the seen as an aggressive young dr... then it's all downhill from there 😳

So it will be interesting to guage personal growth / change after med school as well...
 
I have a feeling this thread will alternate more between meaningless banter and serious life topics as we get closer and closer to starting school.

I think I may be one of the last ones to start up, actually.

probably...then culminating in the threads death a few months into M1....🙁. One school for me actually starts in like sept if i decide to attend there, whens lsu for you?
 
I think the fb group will be our way of keeping in touch in the future... I hope that gets strung out for a while... it would be nice to know where we end up etc.

I know I'm going to stop getting on SDN regularly by the end of this calendar year

except from june 11 to july 11th, where i imagine that world cup talk will dominate everything.

although I guess for many people, the world cup would qualify as a serious life topic

LSU starts classes on August 18th, the day after my birthday. I hate to keep talking about Baylor, but I think they start at the end of July.

I would definitely like to try to keep this thread and the facebook group (especially) going. I mean, we don't have to post here like we're doing now, but we have enough support to where someone should be able to come on here once a day and say something.
 
If you enjoy soccer and international events, the World Cup is surely a serious life topic. :laugh:

Hopefully I can spend most of that time drunk or something. Either way, it will be fun.
 
i think our pace of posting has slowed down a bit recently

although we're still on pace to hit 100k by mid-late may

It was good. It accomplished its purpose, and I'm pretty sure I'll be going to LSU if nothing else changes. I really liked VCU and love their support network and the way they treat the students, but the money and my so-so feelings about Richmond have led me to an almost decision.

The trip was fun, though. It went very smoothly and it was nice exploring Richmond (I did go to Bell Isle and Maymont Park) and seeing some other places, too.

My goal is to eventually beat Blue for #3. I think that's as high as I'll get.

What have I become? I can remember when I first started how far Blue was ahead of everyone else and now I'm only 300 or so behind him. 😱
