2014'ers, I gotta question. How long do you date someone before you ask for exclusivity.... Like, it is kind of expected before you officially state to each other that you're dating that you can..... play the field? Right?

I have a self-imposed clause of 3 dates = exclusive. But that's me. If I had to ask the other person (in my case, it'd be a girl 😀 ) for exclusivity - It definitely would be VERY odd to bring up the topic after just 3 dates :laugh:

I have no idea what I'd do in that situation actually... then again, I usually fly by the seat of my pants in most situations so I guess this wouldn't be any different 😀

If you've gone on official dates - you can definitely play the field (carefully) before the 3rd date fo shizzle.

Alright, cool. I was actually thinking about sitting my bar around 3-5 dates... Want to make sure she isn't hiding the fact she likes to eat babies or something odd like that....😱

HAHAHA - well everyone is crazy in one way or another; doubt you can avoid that... but yea you just gota :xf: that they aren't TOO crazy.

Besides, exclusive dating != going steady. If s/he's a whacko - gently let 'em down and reacquire new targets! 😀

I'm confoozed too, and I'm ok with that.

Last day of classes was today! Two finals next week and it should be easy rollin into graduation after that.

So, I'm thinking about starting all my first dates with gently letting the chick now that we aren't a steady couple til we both decide we are....and we are free to date until then.....

People are crazy, I'm trying to figure out how to avoid this craziness next time....
 
I just don't know anymore. Lame that all this stuff is starting to bug me so close to May 15th. :laugh:

It probably won't bother me after a while, I'm just unhappy about the whole situation right now.

So I'm assuming someone flipped out on you for multi-dating after the first date? :laugh: Nah don't bring it up before hand as a defense measure... that's probably not a good way to start first dates. I mean being open and honest is one thing; but meh - you want to talk about positive things (assuming it's going well of course). I say don't mention that, and take the beatings from the few that flip out on you 😀

As you point out in this statement - people are crazy; so no you can't avoid the craziness 🙂 Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I'd rather go with the not-bringing-it-up route 😀 Seems like that's the GENERAL consensus. Sometimes, it's good to be sheep!

hmm the etymology of troll... good question. It probably came out of the computer gaming world - trolls are usually annoying enemies you fight in various games. I'm assuming they were so hated by people for being such a frustration that they called annoying people trolls (comparing them to mindless *****s that had to be cut down time and time again)?

I gota look this up now :laugh:
