miami is absolutely ******ed. i asked them if i had any financial documents missing 2 months ago and they said no. on their website, it says i need to send something in to finish my aid, wtf

Nah. He doesn't want to be responsible for storing the stuff over the summer either...

I mainly just want to get rid of the futon. I thought I'd get a better response on craigslist than I've gotten (which has just been 2 automated spam emails soliciting personal information...)

I *want* to live in the dorm :laugh: it is suuuuper conveniently located, pretty cheap, and 80% of the first years live there.

Since by now I'm 99.87% sure I didn't get a scholarship from VCU, should I call them and ask about my financial aid stuff? Or should I just give up and withdraw now? The only way I would go there is if it's close to LSU in COA, which would mean I would need at least $23k per year.

on a related note, i definitely think they need better nutrition education in school. kids just don't understand how eating like crap will actually affect their health. the 12yo i nanny skips breakfast and lunch, then comes home ravenous and eats all the chips, cookies, etc she can get her hands on. i've tried to talk to her about it a little, but i'm thinkin i need some kind of proof to show her. i wonder if there's a website or videos specifically geared toward nutrition for teens and why it's important. there really should be if not-it seems like the cool thing to do is skip meals since they're scared of getting fat, but they just don't understand that doing that will only lead to bingeing/weight gain.
 
i always skipped meals as a kid, it might not be a big deal... but fear always works best with kids. i taught a sex ed class for middle schoolers, and i'm damn sure none of them will be getting busy for a WHILE :laugh:

haha good job scaring them!😛 ya i mean i definitely don't think it's the end of the world, nothing as bad as her friend who doesn't seem to be eating at all. i used to skip breakfast too. it just seems like maybe getting tween girls some more info on healthy eating would lead to a better relationship with food later on, but who knows.

I haven't eaten breakfast (regularly) since like 8th grade. It makes me sick to my stomach to think about eating within 1-2 hours of waking.

I usually do lunch, dinner, and then another meal later in the evening (10PM-2AM). oops.

P90X. WashU monies is good, just hoping for more. I guess I'm just being greedy. It's just kind of frustrating when the dean tells me "Oh you definitely deserve a full scholarship, I just don't have one to give you." I don't think I "definitely deserve" it if there are 16+ people who got offered it before me. Sigh.
