Sounds stupid but I still want a solid brand. I'm just going to wait it out and keep checking the deal sites. Slickdeals was my personal fave as well, Sentinel!

LG, Sharp, Sony, Panasonic are siiick. Cmmon deals.

Right now I'm craigslisting my current TV--> Olevia 242V

I think the thing about LED's is that they are more energy efficient (important for people who drive Priuses), and they are wicked thin!

it's not stupid at all, for displays(monitors, tvs, anything with optics really) brand actually makes a huge difference. it's just that a lot of ppl can't tell the diff so they don't care. i'm not sure i'd lump LG into that category tho, maybe their rep has improved in recent years?

Definitely lump LG in there. I know a tech guy that absolutely swears by their displays. Plus check out the LH50, it's a broadband TV that integrates netflix, youtube, etc. into it so you don't need to go through your Wii or Roku. Minor, but still pretty sweet.

nice, i'm def gonna consider LG with my next purchase then. how about Samsung? They're a step below usually, and I usually get products just below the top so I don't have to pay premium for the newest/coolest tech.

Sony has the best looking black to me. LGs is more of a blue black. Im currently rocking a Visio tho. was cheap and its good. HD LCD.

Samsung isn't bad. They always seem to have the new tech the quickest (DLP, then LED) but don't have it down as good as the other companies do when they get them... :shrug:

So buy the "tried and true" from Samsung.

I'm in the same boat, but I don't think I'm quite as happy about LSU as you are about Case.

That post in the Vandy thread definitely made me start thinking about possible waitlist movement, though. Stupid thoughts.

I have no idea. He buys stuff like TVs and a ton of useless outdoors equipment/clothing that he never uses. I understand maybe buying some stuff when you get that first loan check of the year, but you don't spend 5k right at the beginning. :laugh:

it's just tough to get really excited about where I know I could/probably will be going when the looming doom of my waitlists haunt me :laugh:

that's our fault for having top choices at the beginning of the cycle though, right? that's my number one piece of advice for people who will be applying in the future...don't have a top choice. have like 10 top choices. save yourself the grief.

......and don't date someone who goes to school in Nashville and end up going to Cleveland👎

👍 to that advice.

I didn't really have a top choice or huge front runner throughout his process and I think it definitely helped me in dealing with any potential disappointment

On the other hand, it's been a lot harder to choose which school to attend since I haven't had a slam-dunk top choice that I very obviously wanted
 
i think this p90x crap is designed for ppl to fail, aint no friggin way to complete it on time with correct form
