But in all seriousness - just as beauty is in the eye of the beholder - worth of anything in life is gauged on a self/personal level. In a way, the only way you can know if it's worth it - is to do it. It's a risk yes; but hey if it's not worth it - you can always "sell out" to pharma/corporate :meanie:

Anything worth doing in life seems depressing because I'll bet you it takes a lot of effort. Some more than others. That's why you do it with awesome people because then if it does turn out to be horrible - at least you had good company while you were at it 👍

I am just tired of people assuming (this is in general not the poster specifically) that A) I am in it only if compensation remains the same B) I have not heard all of the things they have to say before.

Its like this is everywhere...I couldn't even escape it in the middle of the Atlantic ocean snorkeling....one of the people on our boat was a surgeon who left medicine and is now a lawyer. He spent like 40 minutes convincing me that medicine is a black hole of despair. It was bout the umpteenth time I had that experience.
I work at a hospital and hear it from many doctors...and you know what I have yet to meet a single one that would trade what they do for another profession.
Truth is...I was irreparably inspired to go into medicine when I was 7 by things bigger than money and fear of being sued. If I had stayed in Russia, I'd practice there and thats a whole other set of drawbacks 😛

neways..done with my rant...who wants to see my baby kitty?

haha I have a friend that fires the "ISR" jokes with pretty much any phrase I say...it making sense is optional lol
my baby girl is mostly cute for now...im sure lolcats will come later 🙂

Lol. I see your point, but cell phones are really practical. They offer a distinct advantage over landlines. I don't see the advantage of taking notes on a computer vs taking them on paper.

No paper cuts. Need I say more?

But I will 😛 One note is great - everything in one place (they aren't kidding). Easily shareable. One thing to carry. Searchable throughout. You can even record lectures and synch them to the notes you are taking.

Best part - you can "create space" between notes if you need it - can't do that w/ paper; and my professors for some reason always did the "oh i forgot to add this part here". :laugh:

Edit: it's also one of those things where you don't really get all the advantages till you use one; then it's like... whoa

LSU baseball in an elimation game today. :scared:

Hopefully they can pull it out - but I can't watch for right now because I have to go fill out paperwork to get officially hired to go back to work.

I know old people that might say something like "I understand, but dentures are quite practical. They offer a distinct advantage over real teeth. I don't see the advantage of carrying a phone with me everywhere over just making my calls at home."

Of course, I will be trying OneNote for the first time, but I think it will be useful. Until I stop going to class in the second week and never look back 😀
 
Ugh, lots of folks posting in that honesty thread seem to lack integrity. Add that to the list of reasons I hope never to need medical care when I'm old.

I'm getting ready to transfer files to my new computer. Everything I need fit on a 2 GB flash drive with about 800 MB to spare.
 
Both of my tortoise's lamps broke the other day, so I just bought two new ones. They don't work either! +pissed+

So it must be the bulbs, right? I just replaced both bulbs a month ago!!! +pissed+

This is getting incredibly annoying. I will go to Petsmart like tomorrow and buy new bulbs and just test all possible combinations out.

Same here. Post-graduation life has been busy and the past week has been especially crazy! I kinda just want to sleep and eat...all day.

I haven't been around here lately, so I'm guessing you're pretty much settled into your new place. I'm moving into my new apt later this month (taking over someone's lease) and that move is going to be a b!tch. Moving absolutely sucks.

Haven't posted here in awhile, boards studying has been rowdy, but better than school 🙂

the workout front has been pretty good. For anyone interested in a good pre-workout drink/supplement, Dynmatize's is insane. Maybe too good, I took it like 20-30 min before my workout which was pretty high volume 7x2x8 chest/arms, and I had to sit down by the end cuz I was getting overheated and feeling jittery, back up to about 90% of preinjury levels for lifts tho!

I vegetated on the couch a couple of weeks ago watching that show with my friend. I love the super serious diiiing sound every time the scene switches.
