LizzyM tries to be more "politically correct" than giving true advice. The medical field is extremely traditional, and many old-school docs unfortunately hold many stereotypes.
See, I think you ooze maturity all over your application - you seem to have a lot of leadership experience, other work experience, research, and on top of that you're raising a family, etc. I think this actually puts you several bounds and leaps ahead of a fresh college graduate. But putting your gaming experience on your app, many "old school" docs will consider video games to be a big part of your life, and your perceived maturity might be shot.
This is similar to listing an activity such as "
alcohol consumption from age 21 to present at local bars." "This activity has taught me how to become very socially affluent, I'm very much at ease in conversational skills, and comfortable meeting new people."
