*sigh* If what happened is true, its terrible, and violence on women, especially sexual violence towards anyone is unacceptable. However, for sake of argument to be balanced and not label someone guilty before a sentence and based on the reporting that went on earlier on the year on this issue, there's a reason why he wasn't prosecuted.

Ben is a fool though either way. If he is guilty its a shame the police and DA didn't do their job.

edit: I just don't want to admonish someone if they aren't guilty.

Which is then a failure in our legal system, or just how society is set up, and disgraceful on his part.

I read a very interesting editorial about the situation earlier this year, I forget the link otherwise I'd post it, arguing both sides of the issue. All I'm saying is, both parties were intoxicated, her sorority sisters supposedly came up with conflicting stories, one of them said she was wearing a bracelet that said "DTF", and there's a lot of blanks. Whether it was rape or not, what he did was disgusting. Using his position or leverage to get a girl in a bathroom, and have his posse guard the door. Disgusting and misogynistic. He needed to show better judgment, especially for someone in such a public position in today's world of instant media.

:wow: A little belated on this but holy crap USC...2 year post-season ban plus reduction in scholarships plus more?? Appeal?

Also not a fan of Pac-10 expanding to the Pac-16. WHAT is happening to college football? :scared:

I'm surprised you're not stoked DUCKgirl. The pack-16 is now wide open for your ducks to roll 🙂... although it would be crazy if Texas joined and won in their first year in the pac-10.

I think even worse than the ban will be if they are stripped of the 2004 title and Reggie has to give up his heisman trophy... there will be a lot of pissed off USC fans tomorrow.

I think expanding the pac-10 is necessary, b/c the big 10 is going to expand too... then the other conferences... The real losers will be the big 12, which is about to loose all of their teams to other conferences.

One good thing about expansion is that it could be a step closer to a playoff format.

Edit: sorry baller, I think her Ducks have a better shot than your Bruins haha

I have been jonesin' for cupcakes for weeks. I'm seriously debating making some for either myself or Mr. Geek to take to work and we can keep some more for ourselves. :meanie:

Also, either this year or next year, I want to do a Sesame Street birthday for Chicklet, and make these things...

now its obvious why pete carroll left! He had to have known **** was going down. Serves kiffin right something about that guy just doesnt sit right with me. He probably wishes he was still at TN lol. As far as expansion meh its all a money grab i dont care all that much. I kinda like the idea they are setting as i think it would lead to an eventual playoff system.

I had a very strange dream. Iwas cast as the next "Real Housewife of NJ" and I had to do a vampire photo shoot but I was bad at it because I didn't have a good enough vampire face. :laugh:

HA. with my wierd schedule, I see a lot of RHofNJ. I like Dina and Caroline, and even crazy ass Danielle (to an extent) but I cannot stand Teressa, especially this season. Now that she has filed for bankruptcy, Its hard for me to watch the new episodes when she is spending thousands of dolloars left and right. Extrememly irresponsible and you cant tell me that she didnt know what was going on (unlike Lynn from RHofCali).


I ordered the bumper sticker from O'Rilleyfactor.com. It says "Please tell the President that I live within my means." I'll put it next to my "Truth is thicker than oil" and "Its a planet NOT an empire" stickers. 👍

I guess it's the most efficient way to fight against east coast bias. With a 16 team conference w/ some consistently good programs (OU, Texas, etc.) people won't be able to chalk up wins to playing "inferior" schools in the west.

Also, I think it kinda sucks for all the players on USC now who weren't even in college when it happened and now have no postseasons for 2 years. Not to mention the effect on every other player on those teams. Plus losing scholarships, ouch. Then again, as a former UO student, I know there's a lot of shady, off-the-books stuff that goes on during recruiting everywhere.

But one column says it's the best thing for USC because they can focus on building their team and recruiting, and the two year bowl ban will let them avoid two mediocre bowl games. Then when they come back, they'll be super good and dominate again. I don't know if I agree (especially with limited recruiting contacts). I think it would be hard to convince recruits, or have your team work hard for 2 seasons with no chance for payoff in the postseason. It will be interesting to see what happens.

I'm in Montco, but I grew up in NE Philly. It looks like they are downtown a lot.

This place also has awesome cupcakes. They original location was around the corner from where I grew up as a kid, now they're in Chestnut Hill. They did our wedding cake and it was awesomesauce.

btw, FlowRate; my best friend wears bow ties as well. I am quite convinced that it is the sole reason that he got an assistant professorship at an MRU

that will be the quickest way to a couple girls hearts. drunken girls + sweets= love.

at my 20th birthday party my friends got me a big DQ cake and we got it out pretty early in the party so it was closer friends for that. i didn't get a bite. about 20 girls took it to the table in the sunroom and DEMOLISHED it haha.
