I've just been enjoying this past week, pretty soon I'll be buried in summer school though. Today I hosted a pool party for my son, we had ~20 former second graders (today was their last day of school) and their parents.

I am really stoked that my primary is in, and once the secondaries start to come I'll be elated. With a little time off to relax, I've returned to a better perspective on things. I went back to school 4 years ago (I'm a non-trad) with the intent of getting into medical school. It has been a long road to get to this point and now that I'm here I have high hopes for the next chapter. I can't wait to hit the interview trail and show these adcoms how awesome I am :laugh:

I know that wasn't very entertaining, but I'll try to do better soon 🙂

you should stay away from all chances theads for your own mental health 😀. I have to drive to get my son from my moms in a bit, when im hitting traffic at 9pm, it reminds me why i want to gtfo of s cali, as my 30 min drive turns in 1.5 hrs 🙁.

I think you're right I have barely been on SDN lately (relative to before) and it just stresses me out unnecessarily. I only peeped the wamc b/c my boy baller posted.

I hate LA traffic, I'm really glad SD isn't quite that bad. I want to stay in Cali, but I've had the thought that pismo beach/san luis obispo would be nice. Beaches are nice, smaller communities, and sunny CA weather 👍

what about physics! (though i guess tehy are one in the same at least they were for me). Physics killed me, not only did i hate it, but i fail at math and barely pulled Bs for all 3 physics classes 🙁

Ditto...Physics sucks. My last physics teacher was hot though, so I at least went to class.

I actually LIKE math....I just would rather be writing secondaries🙂

And....I procrastinated this morning by going to the gym for an extra long time, so I am pulling a semi-all nighter.

after mechanics I thought physics was more tolerable. I am glad that non-sense is done too though :laugh:

I only had 1 hot teacher ever... Seniorita Gonzalez... she was my smokin hot spanish professor. I think it was her accent that put her over the top though.

I wish I could get motivated to get back in the gym... this past school schedule killed my work out time.

The gym is no problem.

It is the not eating Ghirardelli when stressed thing that is getting me😉
 
talking about all this "pre-med" stuff (ie: physics, math) makes me really happy to be done 🙂. No more right hand rule, derivatives, stereo-chemistry, thermodynamics, or acoelomates for me 👍

I never had hot teachers, i suppose since i only took science classes at a UC tahts expected. The hot ones are never there!

I think the only reason for going to the gym is to be able to eat stuff like that.

For example, I only drink diet coke so that I can eat regular cake 👍

haha so true... I think it is b/c all profs at UC's are researchers which in general means the hotness factor is pretty low.

As research experience increases hotness decreases exponentially 🙁. Its gotta be a proven formula somewhere😛 Maybe we can publish it in nature with baller as a coauthor and you can use it in your apps this year

perhaps this anecdote will better sum up my feelings:

Hyman recently had a full medical check up. When he returned 3 weeks later after the exhaustive lab tests were complete, his doctor said he was doing "fairly well" for his age.
Hyman was obviously a little concerned about that comment and so asked his doctor "Do you think I'll live to be 80, doctor?"
He replied, "Well, do you smoke or drink beer?"
"Oh no", Hyman replied, "I've never done either."
Then the doctor asked, "Do you eat grilled steaks or barbequed ribs?
Hyman replied, "No, I've heard that red meat is very unhealthy."
"Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing golf?" asked the doctor.
"No I don't," Hyman replied.
Then the doctor asked, "Do you gamble, drive fast cars, or mess with women?"
"No," said Hyman, "I've done none of those things."
The doctor looked at Hyman and said, "Then why do you want to live to be 80?"

My best friend actually gave it to me. We were talking tonight and he asked me how much was too much to spend on sunglasses. I said, the pair I wear right now was $5 and that if I pay more than $20, I feel cheated. He was surprised. Then I said "If, on the other hand, you want to talk about shoes...."

So he said "I see....you stand in support of vices, just choose them carefully." And a winning statement was born.

I think I'm the opposite... moderately priced shoes are fine but the shades gotta be 5 layer polarized. Sunglasses last me a lot longer than shoes though. I've got a nice pair of ray-bans and a pair of von zippers that I really like.

I realized a long time ago that my tastes are expensive... so I better pick a career that can afford them.
 
I wear the cheapest sunglasses I can find. Left over habit from when I worked construction, they'd always get scratched up and/or broken from work.

It is basically a good ol' boys club that unites the elite in our country to help each other above anything else.

... but we can make it involve chocolate... I like chocolate 🙂.... and blueberries can be incorporated some how as well.

Sorry, but I'm all the hot young man you need 😉... and a shoe obsession is kinda flaming for men to have.

edit: unless you are Turtle from entourage... then you can be a guy who is obsessed with shoes
