This pay-per-month stuff saddens me, because I have heard through the grapevine (you know, not from going to the sites at all or anything) that some of the less legal websites are being seized by the US government.

And I don't have a TV or cable. So hopefully Hulu can work it out. Preferably for free.

Also, we failed at 18,000 last night. Let's go for 18,000 by the end of the week?

I thought the way it was going to work was Hulu would still have a free service in a similar capacity to it is now, where some shows only post up the most recent three or four episodes or whatever rotation they're doing, while if you're a member of Hulu Plus you'll have access to higher quality streaming and archives of all of the seasons for some shows. So if I understood their announcement correctly your Hulu experience wouldn't change if you were a free member but the subscription would just have extra perks.

It was at a lake in Kansas. The headliners were 80's bands - Twisted Sister, Styx but they had Drowning Pool and Buckcherry there one night too. It was a lot of crazy fun.

Flowrate, where did you hear this?? Is this true? I haven't read this anywhere...I thought their secondary deadline was a month or something (though obviously you'd want to get it in before that)

Their hard deadline is August, I just remember hearing that UCSD likes it real quick. I submitted mine today and my money order won't be sent until tonight, so mine will be 2+ weeks from secondary invite till complete.
 
Flow, goodluck! I've always had my doubts that schools actually keep track of the two week deadline for every individual applicant--like certain SDNers say is true of a few schools--so as long as you are complete before the hard deadline, I bet you'll be fine 👍

Cougs--every time I look in the mirror now, I wonder whether I am looking too much like a T-rex. Well, off to the gym (for upper body only)... 👎 le sigh...

I think returning the secondary within two weeks is more important than it being complete in two weeks. For some people, that is out of their control once you send in the secondary. People may be waiting on test scores, or in my situation for their schools to send LORs. I've been turning around my secondaries within a couple of days, but I'm waiting for my school to complete and send my committee packet. It sounds like it might take another week or two though until they send it out.

I'm not going to get stressed over it. If you look at the timing of everything, I think so long as you're complete in August you're far ahead of the game of most applicants. In SDN you're late, but in reality think about it: the applications aren't being reviewed immediately anyway and if you look in the school specific threads you keep hearing about people not getting secondaries sent to them or being reviewed yet because an adcom member was on vacation. Its the summer and academics, employees will be taking their vacation time. But they'll definitely be back in August for the upcoming academic year, so hopefully you have everything sent in for when they come back.


edit: a two-week "deadline" is insanity, and something people have clung onto here on this forum once people started mentioning the sound advice of sending in your secondaries within two weeks so they don't pile up on you and so you're not procrastinating, and being proactive in the process. You could be out of the country right now and schools probably expect this. To think just because you sent in your secondary on day 15 instead of day 13 means you jaded them and you should expect an immediate rejection is looney tunes. These people pushing this myth on the forums lately are the same people that probably freak out about when is the perfect time to call someone again after meeting them or after a first date. God forbid you call the next day, that's too desperate, and if you call on Wednesday, you MUST not be interested. Give me a break.

haha this reminds me of those chain emails sent around in like middle school where it told you to make a wish and you scroll through a bunch of lines of stars and then it says you have to forward it to 20 people or you will die alone or something. my classmates were really into those.

I think everyone's classmates were. I remember AOL disabled my account for a day after forwarding one a classmate sent me. Mom was pissed.

Yep yep... I usually removed the "forward this or someone dies" things from the end haha.

Oh man that would've made me so annoyed. Who still does that?

Also cause it would've been just another text wasting my limit, which oh I happened to somehow exceed by 200 this past month. First time I've apparently gone over my limit since June '07. Absolutely brilliant. Fun bill to pay.

So frustrating. I've been procrastinating with these two secondaries all day today. You'd think it'd be so easy to fill out the NYU and Cornell secondaries, especially since a homecoming trip would be amazing, but I just can't get the words out of my mouth. Or for NYU their website is a bit sparse when it comes for information about their program.
