I'm really happy b/c I thought this school passed me over since I was complete the first few days of July (and I made a mistake in the first sentence of my essay haha oops).

I see some of you have had me under review for more than 3 weeks. This is highly unnecessary. Let me make it easy for you. I'm awesome, you're awesome and you want me at your school so we can foster each others' awesomeness. We can do the interview to keep with expectations, but you've already got my acceptance letter and full-tuition scholarship offer stamped and sealed, right?

Hey, that's how I feel. Jewelry imo is unoriginal, expensive, and fosters the princess complex that I hate in some girls.

The pleasure book I'm reading now is called The Art of Racing in The Rain
One of my favorite books of all time (creeps me out) is House of Leaves
I also love Alice In Wonderland and have a copy called The Annotated Alice that tells all kinds of cool background stuff on the story and I like reading that.
Other than that, I read trashy romance novels, health care books, and the book Sun told me to read....Guns, Germs, and something else...

Mmmm.....that doesnt look too difficult to make. I should try it out, haha. Looks like a cupcake, with a vanilla wafer and chocolate chips all over it.

That is making me hungry for some Sprinkles and all the other cupcake places now...*must go out tomorrow*

Yay to people getting interviews! Time to take my puppy to his day-long doggy dentist appointment. It's gonna cost upwards of $500... so vets have figured out the cost-shifting technique doctors have known for so long, I see. :meanie:
 
Kay so I did something stupid and was really cocky and read some stuff about U of VA that made me not want to apply there. Then I realized that I do want to apply there, but it's been a month and a half since I was sent the secondary; is it even worth submitting now? I figure this late does not lead to good chances. (same for yale, but at least yale is non-rolling)
 
I would send in the secondary. Not too late at all.
I am considering applying to Tulane even though people have been sending in secondaries there for 1.5 months now.

I'm reading this too, actually. It's really interesting but took a while to get through since reading a book that requires thought was not high on my priority list this summer.

Better late than never! I know a few med students there and they seem to enjoy it. (Although if you went there it's good you'll be in the second class of the new curriculum so you feel less like a guinea pig.)

Morning peeps.

Whims, I knew you'd have a good cycle, I just had a feeling (and the best is yet to come!).

Freakin classes start Monday. Im taking a few classes with the Pharm students. Its a 6 year Pharm D program so they're all pretty tight knit. Lets hope they're nice too. :xf:

My mom is so cute. I wake up to a text saying "I'm driving by your house today, would you like some apples?" Hah🙂


So, I started the training for this new volunteer job where I do victim response at crime scenes/suicides/accidental deaths/other tragedies, and sit with the secondary victims (family members, people who saw the accident, the person driving the car when they accidentally hit someone, etc).

Last night's training was really interesting and all of the other volunteers seem SUPER nice. There are like 8 training days/nights; tonight is night 2. On I think night 3 we learn all about what happens when someone dies - who has to respond, the coroner's procedures, what the family can do, etc.

Is it weird that I am super excited for night 3?🙂

I don't know if you'll get any today, so probably Monday. I don't think they usually get sent out during the weekend. It took me a few days, because I got verified late July 2nd (Friday) and everywhere was closed on Monday in observance of the 4th.

not at all. i love stuff like that. i watch the first 48 all the time.


my moms a cutie too. retired at age 50 so she has lots of time to be cute, lol. i just wish she'd quit buggin me about a baby!
 
I'm struggling through a certain school's autobiography secondary... does anyone have any ideas of how to make an upper-middle-class white girl's life up through high school sound interesting? Sigh 🙁

I applied there, too. Cougs made me ; ). I think I'm going to talk about moving around a lot and making new friends each time? I really don't know.

Throughout my high school and undergraduate education, I have always had a desire to serve my community with other members of my club...in my pants.

This reminds me of doing the same thing with fortune cookies, but adding "in bed" at the end.
 
You could always go with the Triumph the Insult Comic Dog approach.
