urg. I don't feel like this week, or any other week, will be the week for me. I'll believe it when I see it.

P.S. we still haven't reached 20k posts?! We need to change the subject away from our stresses about the application cycle. I guess no one really wants to talk about that anymore. Let's switch back to our usual food/sex/etc.

between moving back to school to a house w/ no internet and having my permanent address as my home address, i haven't checked email/mail for 24+ hours.. i really wish i had a camera in my home mailbox so i could see if vandy was there tho. and my only gmail message today was the stupid amcas facebook thing

I had a dream last night that I got an interview invite at the school I am waiting to hear from. It was so awesome. I still have a week before I really hear anything though... so hopefully next week is my week.

I had the worst morning ever!! This summer I took 4 summer school classes, and 5 minutes before work I went and checked my grades online. I saw that my statistics grade was an F 😱!!! So, as you can imagine I freaked out and saw my entire future go down the toilet 🙁!

So while I was driving to work I managed to get a hold of my professor, and was like WTF???!! It turns out he lost my final when he entered the grades, so he thought I didn't take it. While we were on the phone he found it, I got 93% on the exam.

Long story short, I went from an F to an A in the course. He better have my grade fixed by the end of the day.

Seriously, I almost lost it when I saw that grade on my online transcript. When I called my gf and everyone to tell them (before I got my grade fixed), everyone thought I was joking. I almost lost it on them too.

Eek. That's horrible. Seriously, this process is enough to make neurotic people post entire threads about 1 typo in their PS, and I can't imagine what a false F on a transcript would do to one's sanity.

I just got home from a run. I see a letter addressed to me on the table. It has the Vanderbilt logo on it! ...and it turns out to be the first in what I'm sure will be a lifelong series of letters asking alumni for donations. Goddamnit.

Thank goodness you were able to contact your professor about it. Takes me back to a time when my professor had a "white knuckle moment" (his words, not mine) in which I received a B+ as a final grade instead of the A I was supposed to get. Since I had seen my final exam score before he submitted final grades, I was able to see that the grade he entered for my final in the gradebook was too low. Thankfully, for you and me, the prof figured things out and we got our As!

I'm very impressed with your motivation to run in this weather...it's like 90 degrees out here in SoCal and I've been inside my house most of the day because it's so hot! lol. but hey, in due time..things will piece together nicely! 🙂 It just takes time!

yeah it is ridiculously hot here too. I got done with the run and looked very shiny. I am the whitest person ever so it probably caused passers-by to experience snow blindness. If it weren't for all those delicious, delicious endorphins, I would be really, really pissed about that letter 😎

Don't worry about the letter....I know how you feel though..getting letters that are not exactly what you wanted...*disappointment* it's like opening up a gift that you've been expecting only to get the wrong one...*womp womp*

This morning, I successfully woke up early, ate breakfast, went for a run, stretched, and lifted some. Then went to class. First day of school = success. But now I gotta do some hw.

Still no vandy mail, still no ucsf secondary, no other word. At least no rejections lately.
 
I had my first "this process is a crapshoot" moment today.

Got a letter from a mid-to-low tier school (don't have the US News & World Report official tier haha) saying I wasn't good enough to get a secondary. I'm a double legacy there and that school allegedly tells people they interview that they "really like legacies".

Clearly they don't know what they're missing, I think you should send them a rejection letter back telling them you don't accept their letter and your secondary is attached.

I still have a soft spot for UCSF; wish the feeling was mutual... you win some, you lose some.

Haha I didn't need to pay UCSF $100 for them to tell me they're too good for me, I already know that 🙂

My parents that both went there were like "Huh... well, we never answer their alumni club's requests for money, maybe they hate us."

I keep wanting to make Chex Mix.....but it is an hour long commitment. And I think I won't be awake for another hour and then of course I am.

Aww, my cousin told me the same thing when I put his name down at a school that asked for it..so I'm like.."great...thanks!" Don't feel bad..that school is just lame and doesn't know what they're missing out on! You'll rock at other schools!

Do you know I've never made the muddy buddy version? I am all about the salty snacks🙂 I did the the recipe on the side of the box again today so I may tweak it into something I would like.

Cliff! Woot!! Where now?

Daisy, sorry, that sucks!

I have been seriously up and down these last few days. Sunday was a bummer. Monday was fun (my mom and I went to the beach with chicklet). I got some bad news this morning. None of the bad news is school related. Personal stuff.

It'd be great if one of the other two schools I submitted secondaries to in July ever got back to me. *grumble*
 
This is quite annoying. Every time I want to work on the Creighton secondary none of the school web pages will open. They all time out. How am I supposed to write the "why creighton" essay if I can't get any information about the school. Of course the secondary link works but nothing else on the school's website.
