Tiger did not get an facebook friends or invites to secret groups... I probably scare people away with my fb pic. waahhhh.

Additionally, I immediately lost my internet connection on the megabus and had a pretty lousy ride. Back to planes rides only for me after tomorrow.


@ cougs, I wanted to be a librarian for a long time. and a veterinarian even longer. Finally decided to be a people-doctor because they get the newest type of surgery equipment and I got into social justice issues (that and becoming a zoo doctor would be near impossible <-- my dream still though!)

edit: NEVERMIND. I'm in the secret group. 🙂

haha, yeah. I mean, I was kind of expecting it, since my web portal already changed to where I could put a deposit, but you never know, and better safe then sorry. And they warned us not to worry if its thin. However, they didn't say it was going to be a no.10 envelope and not a 10x11 or whatever. So it was cool. I needed it this week. People out in the real world know I've been bugging out this week or so.

I'm on the prowl for a new avatar. I deleted my 2015 sig line because now I'm scared I won't get in anywhere, and I changed my member status from "no thin envelopes" since I guess they aren't such a bad thing after all. 🙂

Oh, and when I was seven, I wanted to be a forensic pathologist. My parents thought that was hilarious.

Make sure to check the group section/page on facebook. Fb doesn't like groups no more (they want you to be a fan of everything) so they didn't inform me of the invite. arghhh fb.

Anyways -- off to my tenth interview. wish me luck. and that I never have to do this again (unless CWRU, northwestern, or columbia decides to interview me)

in other news, when I was in fourth grade I wanted to be an artist or an olympic swimmer. I was a swimmer for 12+ years, but art was never really my thing. little-me was funny.

I wanted to be a marine biologist that specialized in "cetacean communication". I wanted to decypher the language of dolphins and whales.

Glass, I had Olympics aspirations too, for volleyball. I'd totally have gotten myself in bikini shape if it meant I could play sand volleyball for my career. Alas, white girl can't jump and she's not tall enough for it not to matter. =/

I am very pleased with my 3/15, it's more than I expected to be honest. But, this process is much easier when you go in expecting the worst - I have been pleasantly surprised several times already!

re cougs question...is it weird i've always wanted to be a doctor?

i mean the other profession i considered (for a really long time, like age 5 to 18) was musician...but i like stability in the job market too much (ha ha jokes on me)

so when i was a kid there was no weird profession i considered. it was always medicine and music.
 
Doubt it. The DFW Airport isn't very Texan, from what I remember. There are a few Texas themed stores, but I don't remember really seeing any barbecue. Maybe I just wasn't looking for it, though.

I've done 10 interviews and today was my first sorta tough one -- the second interviewer asked me about my thoughts on the health care bill and malpractice... and then what I would do if I didn't get into medical school. And would I apply DO because that sounded like a good fit for me.

Was I suppose to tell him that I did apply DO? and that I was 100% going to medical school next year. haha. I felt awkward not doing so.

Anyways -- need to run. this school is doing a mock-shooter lock down starting in 30 minutes and I don't want to be trapped.

also -- thanks for all your support everyone. And app-buddy, I'm addicted to SDN too.

Also 13/36(37?) completed apps. 9/32 MD schools.

Half the schools I applied to are east coast/ohio and NONE of them have gotten back to me (minus VTC and Hofstra)... but the midwest loves me. What the hey?

Let's just say that my fraction is muuuuuch smaller than all of yours. I'm sticking to the "it only takes one acceptance" philosophy so I don't get too depressed :laugh:

i would trade all the interviews for an acceptance, i was just pumped to have some fresh blood pumped in after a series if waitlists
and thanks for the support everyone, hopefully we will all have an acceptance by christmas!
 
yay for all the newcomers on the fb group...I have been slacking on here...just lurking. I do have to say a big congrats to Rhino!!! 😀 That is so awesome.

Also, is anyone scared of getting their offers rescinded because of grades? (I have to confess I've been feeling pretty lame because interviews+ work+ EC's have been pushing my grades into the *gasp* B+ range 🙄 this semester, and it's freaking me out). Someone please tell me that I'm being completely dumb worrying about this....

But really, I think you'll be fine. I don't know how people could not get senioritis after getting accepted... hey I'm not even in school and I have senioritis!

Edit: Ok, I just realized you didn't say your grades were dropping because you're slacking, but because of all the other stuff. My bad.

I am graduating in December and I am doing my best to stay focused on my classes between now and then... but it isn't always easy. I think B- and up is absolutely nothing to worry about. C, you're probably ok. D and below, then it is time to 😱.

I love how we are all high achievers 👍.

hahaha, thanks guys. I guess I was worried because the school that accepted me wasn't specific about grades. They say "while maintaining your previous level of academic performance"...I'm not sure I can do that EXACTLY. lol

Plus-YES--I DO have senioritis....:laugh:

one day in the future when we have flying cars and meals in a pill i will live in nyc, the middle of the woods (ny or new england), hometown, philly, and miami all at the same time.
