It's any kind of cookie you want it to be. Seeing that comic made me want to make pill-shaped cookies out of the dough I made last night.

Robin just got an invite to NYMC.

... tempted to go for new york. But I don't think I have the time. Would I miss out by not going?

never saw the guy before in my life. odd on a couple levels.

Wow, that's pretty impressive stalker work. Maybe you just have the same snarky aura in real life that you do on SDN... or maybe you just repeatedly facepalmed when people around you said dumb things

Hmmph, I would say stick with UIC over NYMC...I say that partly bc NYMC rejected me, but also bc NYMC isn't the best school out there, considering the choices you have...just my two cents 🙂

Tiger, if you've been following the NYMC thread, you know there's drama regarding the upcoming merger with Touro. I don't think I buy all the negative press, but that's something to look into and think about.

That's my thoughts too... but I would love to have an excuse to go out to New york city. I tried to use my interview to Hofstra as a reason... but it's too expensive to fly out there... unless it was Columbia :xf::laugh:

i was proctoring a test so there was not much in the way of interaction. maybe my mane gave it away. i'd like to think i'm a nicer guy IRL... mainly due to the lack of too much interaction with crazy neurotics...

I agree with Daisy about the Touro merger. Although I personally didn't even take that into account when giving you advice. My comments were with respect to the calibre of their accepted students' MCAT/GPA and match list (the two criteria I "unscientifically and arbitarily" use to gauge a school's "quality/reputation"), it's just not up there with UIC! (Granted, I don't mean to demean the school or anything--it's not a bad school at all..it's just given your options, I think you have better ones 🙂

Another thing to think about...if you have other acceptances where you're happpy and don't mind going out to NYC for a vacation and going to NYMC for a bit of "stressful interviewing", then by all means, go have fun and just "dick around in NYC and NYMC"--strut your stuff and show them what they're losing out on if they don't accept you.

I'm in the same boat as you in terms of Tufts...I had an interview there scheduled for early January, but I got an acceptance to Downstate, my number one out of state choice..so I had to cancel Tufts bc I didn't want to spend $1000 on a mini-vacation for 5 days (my choice, yes lol).--> 300 for the flight and 450 for the hotel + extra misc. expenses was not exactly where I thought I should be throwing my money, especially in early January.

I guess the concise version of my post is: "go if you have the money and are willing to spend some time there (and want to)...don't go to that school though since you have better options haha)

My state has the worst Touro chain school and an awful MD school. And people wondering why I'm applying as a resident of a different state (thanks parents, for moving away!) haha.

In other news, lonely island is awesome.

Yeah I'm glazing right past that. I can't even finish reading any sentence he types about it. I start to go cross-eyed.
 
I think Protag wants that submissive, "man first" mentality in his women, which is why he picks girls of asian/latina who were raised that way. I could be off base, but I seriously doubt it considering his values on women. I hate that so much - the whole yellow fever thing just because you want a submissive woman. When someone asks me if I have yellow fever (my girlfriend is asian) I get pretty offended. I started dating her because she spoke her mind, wouldn't put up with my crap, and was equally as much of a pain in the ass as me :laugh:. She's far from that housewife, take care of her man personality as you can get and I love it.

I also hate those URM threads because they go absolutely no where. People feel very strongly one way or the other, and they generally make piss poor arguments either way.

Also falling in to the "hated thread topic" category is those ridiculous 3.55 GPA first semester did I blow it threads. UGGGHHH! Can a mod make my stupid questions thread a sticky already? I think I made a huge mistake giving it the title that I did, because NO ONE thinks their question is stupid so they would never post it there. Ooops!!!

the ideal woman is one who speaks her mind, thinks for herself, intelligent, funny, etc, but also enjoys occasionally taking care of her man. i feel like this type of woman lives in the mid-atlantic region as a hybrid of northern b!tch and southern belle.

(before someone jumps down my throat, i'm using those stereotypes loosely and in jest.)

could be, but i haven't had much interaction personally with either (midwestern, western). i've seen it in Virginians and some jersey girls though.

On a whole, I gotta agree with Cliff on the ideal woman, even though I'm picky and need to add a few things to that, lol. A woman that can take care of her man can be a huge turn-on if the guy isn't insecure or something

You can't forget Ducky and her master pastry chef skills. That is certainly worth something in the "ideal woman" race.

I feel like defining an ideal man is more difficult because it varies more from girl to girl.

thats because women have a laundry list of qualities and such. men have less than like 7 things, whereas women can come up with like 293872 things their "ideal man" needs hahaha
 
my list: 1) don't be an asshat, 2) be able to take care of me and also be taken care of, depending on the situation, 3) don't be an asshat, 4) make me laugh, 5) be easy on the eyes (i'm pretty generous with this one), 6) not be controlling, OH and 7) don't be an asshat

everything else is flexible.
