well drinks at open bar clubs are absolute trash lol. I've done it before. Worst hang over. Depending on the bar tender too, they can come out pretty bad, especially since its open bar and their rushing like mad. Its better if the club has open bar throughout the night, but we went to one once where the open bar was only from 10-midnight on NYE and then they gave you a complementary bottle of kettle one and champagne... well let's say we rushed the open bar part and had too much before the bottle of vodka came.
 
Ok, so once a long time ago, someone gave the advice to draw a picture of Chuck Norris fighting a velociraptor and the adcoms would get the point. Well I am lame and didn't get this inside joke. So I made a comment about looking up velociraptors on a wiki (not THE wiki...just a wiki). Someone thought I didn't know what a velociraptor was, but I DO! I was just amazed by the website I found....however, until today, I forgot to post that website. So here it is.

I do for the most part. Sinus infection is gone, tummy bug only lasted a day. But regarding the sinus infection, holy schnikeys I will NEVER take Augmentin again. Oh... My... God. D-8

That said, I'm still quite frustrated about something else. My provider's been on vacation this week so I'm hoping she gets back to me ASAP on Monday.

I think I'm doing the house party, unless 10:30 rolls around and it's lame, in which case I might go to a club if I have friends who are out at a good one. Seems solid to me. Since I'm driving tho, that plan may fall through once I start drinking at said house party... I always drink way too much with these guys (and gals) lol.

It's funny when bars have drink specials but you have to order "Whiskey and Coke" because if you order jack and coke they'll charge $5.

Congrats indeed GChick. My parents have been together for 35 years (married the day they turned 18!). Very (very) few of my friends have parents who are still together. I dont disagree with divorce as an option, but its pretty cool when two people form such a strong, lasting bond. My parents are truly best friends. 😍 Here's to many more years for you!

I just heard Skrillex for the first time last night while on break from work (@ 2am!). I have XM and I listen to BPM and Area quite a bit. I will definitely check out Enormous Extinct. I'm really appreciating that artists (DJ's?) are putting out 4-5 minute tracts. It used to be that the tracts were (and some still are) an hour or more.

I'm pretty eclectic though...you'll also catch me listening to Shania Twain, or Sublime, maybe some Bob Marley or a little old school Bone Thugs (its the first of tha month....so wake up, wake up), then some Boston or The Doors, and then back to Diesel Boy. Music is soooooo crazy beautiful.

In my own little new years update, its 21:34 Mountain time and I just got an update from WeatherChannel.com. Currently the ambient temp is -5 though apparently we feel like its -28. I'm pretty sure I just vapor locked my trucks gas tank ($23/8.5 gallons to fill a tank that normally holds 18 gallons/50??). Tonight's bubbly of choice is Martini & Rossi Asti. No flute needed.

My resolution to give up sweets is off to a tough start, as people are trying to force dessert, candy and cookies on me at every meal.

Tell me about it. While being lazy New Year's Day, I tried to play Goldeneye for the Wii on a huge tv with some friends... but aiming with the Wii remote is way faster than with a joystick, so everyone's screen was whipping around super fast. All of us felt like we were going to throw up.

Ok I'm trying to get brave enough to take a circus performance class. It is a minor New Years Resolution but I'm chickening out. My arms are super weak at the moment (along with everything else) and I'm scared ill make an idiot of myself.
 
I agree CougarMD, I joined a boxing gym 2 moths ago, full of fear towards my first class, given my utter lack of all upper body strength. 2 minutes into the class, I seriously considered that I might drop dead. But then...an hour later...I was HOOKED!

Now I love it! Everyone was sooooo nice. So rock out that circus class, the first one is the worst, and after you survive that you'll be so excited to go back!

Seriously, interviewing season WRECKED me. My body is a mess. First day back at the gym yesterday left me sore and sad all day today. But I press on🙂

Sounds fun, but I lack upper body strength too. I didn't have much of an interview season to wreck me, but I ate too many holiday treats.

I can't believe the holidays are over and I have to go to work tomorrow 🙁
 
i now understand why i didnt have an xbox while i was in school. i just sank 5 hours with ease like never before. i thought it was around 1... i was only off by 2 hours...

I can relate...in theory haha. If i were to start going ot the gym again, I know I'd be a mess...hell, I was already a mess whilst AT the gym. Actually, speaking of which, the gym called me today and the conversation went as follows:

Membership counselor (female): "so we've seen you come in with your 'friend' to our gym a lot and wanted to let you know your pass is expiring in about a week. If you'd like, I can let you know what membership offers are available."
(Now mind you, I haven't been to the gym with my "friend" in well over a month...so this was pretty awkward territory for both of us...bc she knew that my friend and I weren't exactly just "friends")

Me: "actually, I haven't been to the gym in quite some time with my friend..."
Her response: "oh, well you know, you can still come in with your friend to work out together since I know that is what you wanted."
Me: (she clearly wasn't getting it at this point, so I just had to say it... "Umm...my friend and I are....uhh..no longer working out together."
Her: "oh...well we can get you set up with a personal trainer if you'd like to have someone to work out with."
Me: "well if he's a tall white gay guy, then sure!"
(JK! I didn't go there...)
I actually just told her I was leaving the country for a few weeks at the end of the month and I'd call her back. I think she got the hint that she treaded on some majorly awkward territory. My friend who was in the car at the time and heard the whole conversation (it was on speakerphone) was just like "OMG Asyouwereatrio You are the QUEEN of awkward conversations! and I love you!"

How much more awkward can it get bringing your personal life into the life of a poor 24 hour fitness membership counselor...My mistake lol.

Oh ya, Happy new year everyone! We're all just a little bit closer to fulfilling our dreams!

Oh, god. I got sucked into playing CoD Black Ops (Xmas present). And while the graphics aren't as good as Modern Warfare 2, the Zombie mode is about the most fun thing I've played on a video game in a long time. And boy is it hard. Its dangerous having video games in the house, can't help myself when they're here. I think video games for guys might be like chocolate for girls.

I can't stand playstation controllers. I'm horrible at games on ps3 that I'm actually pretty good at on xbox. Otherwise I like a lot of the ps3's other features.. and it may be silly but the controller is a deal breaker for me. Just personal taste. That and I enjoy sport games the most and for some reason I've experienced lag or imprecise control on playstation platforms throughout their generations when playing sports games - but I will admit I have not played ps3 that often.
