Class of 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Yeah it is assuming some SERIOUS boobage, especially as the sizes go up. I went with the large. That would have been the pre-preg size for both (almost a little big for the girls, but I don't want to be busting out of it... literally).

I think the ladies sizes are assuming more... ermm.. ample bosom, so I went with that.

Teeheehee. This is now the boob thread.

Yeah I'm debating between a small and a medium... I don't know which would be worse: having it too loosy-goosy or way too tight.

ps: I didn't know you could be friends with people on SDN! My mind has been blown.

My white coat order form had options listed as XS (2-4) and S (6-8), saying to go by your dress size. I think some people are worried about it being too tight wearing sweaters in the winter but I decided to get the XS because 1. I would never wear a bulky sweater under my white coat because I'd get too hot 2. I saw the pictures of another class in their coats and none of the girls appeared to be wearing coats that looked too small. In fact, I think some of them looked big on them. 3. regarding boobs, I don't plan on buttoning the middle button anyway. That would be the only problem for me. (Have to go a size up in button down shirts.)

But I also have a fear of wearing oversized clothing in general...

This is not directed at anyone in this thread: There are like 3 posters in pre-allo who drive me crazy because it's clear from every post that they are desperate to become mods 😴

obvious wannabes are obvious.

Which thread(s), if I may ask?

Also, anyone have any idea how long the white coat ceremony usually lasts? I emailed someone at my school about it but they haven't gotten back to me yet. I'd kinda like Chicklet to come but not if it'll be too long because she'll go crazy cakes.

Boobs.

I'd say over 50% of the US male population has bigger boobs than me...

🙁
(But I'm glad I don't have to worry about the white coat yet. Small boobs + big hips, makes for an odd combination).

I would love to be a mod.

😍

now Let me go write more annnnooooyyyying posts 😛

BTW - I am totally loving the women in medicine thread. Thread likes those make SDN worthwhile IMO. 😀

Hell to the no
Which thread(s), if I may ask?
It's not any specific threads; they just are rule-nazis and/or overly-paternal peacekeepers in every thread they regrettably participate in and you can tell they are only doing it because they are angling for some mod powahs

It would be cool to be a mod.

But then I couldn't be a jackass.

On this note, has anyone noticed that since being accepted to med school that they just don't care about being rude to people anymore? The past few weeks my response to anything and anyone in real life, including work, has been "I don't give a ****, I'm about to start med school."

"Sorry, so-and-so, I no longer care about pretending to care about what you're saying! We're still cool, right? Doesn't matter."

it probably is a good thing. you're starting to focus and you're not worrying about other, less important, things.

But we're all in this together! A rising tide lifts all boats! 😍

I resisted it as much as I could, but unfortunately I've been sucked into this black hole that can't lead to anything good.

If, God forbid, something happened that would force me to cut my hours back in my career for the sake of my kids, I'd do it in half a heartbeat. If my colleagues thought less of me for it, they could kiss my ass. I'll take a bunch of self-righteous adults thinking I suck at my job than my kids thinking I suck as their mom, no question whatsoever. But I'm not planning on that happening, though I DO hope I feel drawn to/am competitive for a specialty that makes time with my family easier to manage, KWIM?

Also, that thread made me text my husband to tell him how awesome I think he is. Really. He might be a little challenged in the kitchen and when it comes to cleaning but in general, I think we have a good and pretty equal system worked out. And we already decided months ago that we're hiring a cleaning service every other week once I start residency. Our time together as a family will be too precious to spend it mopping and scrubbing the tub. F that.

I can think of 2 that fit that description. I still don't get why people want to be mods.

I'm in the back at about 3:00 minutes in.

Wait. Are you seriously in there?

I've found it interesting to see how other people think. Threads like these keep SDN interesting. the real debates. But yeah - like Greek says - it's good to know when you are dating (me) or married to an awesome man. It helps alot. Though I don't plan on having kids soon... but I am already a horrible cook and cleaner.

Wait. Are you seriously in there?
ha, honest. I just look like a blurry boy somehow. But I recognize me....

Cooking is easy and definitely gets better with practice. My plan right now is that we both become crockpot gurus. Prep it the night before (then stick it in the fridge) or in the morning, pop the thing in the cooker in the morning and turn it on, and viola! Dinner at 6:30PM, ready to go.

Sometimes I kinda want to make a med student/mom blog that alternates between showing off my kids and actually posting helpful tip for other students with cleaning tips and fast and/or easy recipes that are pretty idiot proof.

A sorta friend of mine has this blog that I think you would enjoy: http://braisedanatomy.com/

I'm a horrible cook though. I had subway for lunch today, and jimmy john's the past two days. When I do cook... it's usually in chocolate cookie form.

Lol. That's awesome! Did you have a beanie on at any point with a cigarette in your hand? The person at about 2:23 looks like a girl but has short hair.

Anyway, I always wanted to be in a music video so I'm jealous.

No - that isn't me. i wish. I was wearing a hat at some point. The crazy thing is my hair wasn't even short back then (It was like 3 years ago)... it just looks short right there.
But yay - I got mad lucky that day! I ran into the girl who was dating the guy who shot the video that evening and she invited me. I don't even see her in the video... which is crazy[she's hot!]. It was filmed in the basement of an old closed ghetto Cleveland elementary school that was converted into lofts. Lots of fun. 😀

I am jealous of all the simple white coat order forms. Mine gave me number options from 0 to 18. I have really broad shoulders and women suit jackets never fit me right, no idea how the girl ones are cut...

is it just me or does ron paul make entirely too much sense?

Paul is a cool guy. It's interesting how he's restructured his platform toward "state's rights." It's a clever way of advocating libertarianism without having to fully commit to strongly limiting government. It's too bad he's not a great orator.

But US politics and mass media are a sham. Paul will not likely be chosen as the republican nominee. My faith in American politics might be somewhat restored if he is chosen.

Just got my physical/titer/immunizations done today, started my PPD. No white coat order form tho 🙁

omg no..! I wasn't talking about tabascosauce! That guy is my fave!! I want to be able to 'favorite' him so that his posts get sent straight to my inbox, or something.

He used to amuse me, but then his posts took a more serious turn and now I'm not as entertained.

Geeks, you closed the MD vs. DO thread before I posted!! It took me like two hours to think of something really funny! (<--notrly)

that video isnt even gruesome, and is very well explained.

I know. I have put off filling it out. We are supposed to get a fitting at the store, but it is 1200 miles away, so I guess my option is guessing?!

We are thinking of some similar ideas. We already do some crock pot roasts, carnets, etc. I would totally read and/or contribute to your blog 🙂. DH is a far better cook than I am. He says he will grill a lot, since it will be warm year round. I cleaned houses in college, and would totally pay a housekeeper if I can afford it.

Also, anyone have any idea how long the white coat ceremony usually lasts? I emailed someone at my school about it but they haven't gotten back to me yet. I'd kinda like Chicklet to come but not if it'll be too long because she'll go crazy cakes.

Ours is scheduled for 90 minutes, but I don't know how typical that is. DH is planning on wondering the lobby and hopefully catching me since key lime will be in Tasmanian devil mode.
