i act a lot like violet. i absolutely loved gene wilder, though. he embodied that peter pan grown up spirit in the movie. borderline creepy/pedo-ish yet really just a little kid trying to make it in a big kid body. when johnny depp did it he was more pedo and less peter pan

Ok, so my upstairs neighbor/tenant needed some repairs done. So I had a repair guy go up there to do stuff.

I get an email from said tenant last night saying "Uh, hey, so I have a webcam on my computer that I use as a security camera. My roommate told me that my ex girlfriend had come by and maybe gone in my room, and it creeped me out, so I set it up. Anyway, it caught the repair guy going through my stuff and taking some things. I attached the video. I don't feel comfortable with him in my house again"

Um...

First of all....this is the same "ex girlfriend" that he has since gotten back together with. The one he has 7 minute sex with at 3am. And the one that my dog HATES.

Second......webcam. Ew. Just EW. I feel creepy knowing about this.

Third....wtf??? With the repair guy?? He stole a handful of quarters and something else we can't identify on the video, but he clearly put something in his pocket. Then he rifled through a bunch of drawers and stuff.



When did *I* become the sane person in the world?

I hope he split the quarters with you since you were his "inside-woman"/accomplice in the crime 🙂
 
Oh yeah, and if anybody gets interviews at UVA, Baylor, Vanderbilt, VCU, or LSU-NO and wants some info on the interview just let me know. Most of that stuff is pretty fresh for me.
 
can i resell my kaplan mcat prep books or did i sign a clause saying i couldnt profit from their materials?

and should i put them on craigslist? i know the BU kid killed himself but i'm in a much harder city than boston

On a totally related note, it's hot as Hades in LA. I spent the whole day sitting around and melting into a pile of goo like a vampire that got staked on True Blood.

85 is nothing try 98 in city heat.

Different areas in LA vary greatly in temperature; it was 95ish where I live today and I don't get A/C in my room either 🙁

On the plus side, I made myself a yummy Diet Coke float to deal with the heat 🙂

I don't think I can keep dancing at this studio.....which sucks, because I LOVE my dance teacher.

No...the way it works is you pay for private lessons then get all-you-can-eat access to the evening group classes.

There are 2 classes per night, one beginner class and one intermediate/advanced class, Monday-Friday. You just drop in to the class. So I'll never know if he is going to be there unless I show up.


Also, the price of the private lessons are prohibitive enough that without being able to take group classes, it is just too expensive.





Totally different topic: did we ever settle if it is ok to contact a student host of the opposite gender? I prefer boys to girls.

i think its definitely ok. if they arent ok with the situation, then they can veto the idea. go for it.

When i was looking for student hosting at pitt, i contacted some girls and of those who responded, there was not a problem.

Don't stop dancing because of some douchebag! Don't let him win!

I was going to say...it was mega hot here in OC...but if it makes you feel any better, yesterday, I was in Riverside and it was like 96. Mind you, my friend wanted to play outdoors so we were outdoors for MOST of the afternoon in the direct sunlight. I was sweating like **** the entire afternoon haha.

🙁 about your class! Btw, I think you "can" stay with an opposite gender host, but I think at our stage in life, it's not a big deal to "live" with someone of the opposite sex. The reason why I say that is because a girl-friend of mine was arranged to stay with a male.

Hmm..I'd prefer to stay with girls, but whatever works..I'm easy.

He kept flicking me in class if my elbow was not in the exact right place.

Toward the end, when it was his turn to dance with me he would turn his back on me and go and pull another girl out of order.

I don't know if I want to do that again.

This screams mega-douchebaggery. I'm sorry he's made you feel so ****ty, but think of it this way--he isn't worth your energy. Don't let him get to you! Try to be confident and ignore anything he has to say/do with you.
 
I get the whole "ignore him" thing, but it sucks when I spent a large portion of dance class NOT dancing because he kept passing me over. There were too many girls and every time he did it, it messed up the order and I kept getting left out and having to dance with no one. Instead of alternating between partner - no partner - partner - no partner, it was more like no partner - no partner - no partner - partner.

Could you address the situation by talking to your instructor? See if there's something he can't do.

I would suggest spreading "truths' about this guy to the other members of the class, but then you'd be stooping to his level..and that = bad!

I'm debating whether or not I want to take a red-eye flight. It's cheaper and ~3 hours less flight time, but I don't do well sleeping on flights.

the worst flight i ever took was a red-eye from seattle to atlanta. it was a scene out of a movie, i was trapped between two morbidly obese people that were married to each other.
