I've never actually tasted the apricot in it. My taste buds probably just suck. I've also had it almost exclusively on tap, not from the bottles, so maybe there's a noticeable difference in taste?

I never knew it had apricot in it. I've had it a couple of times on tap, and I really like it. It tastes like a pale ale to me, I don't relly get any fruit notes.

Wish it was over already 😀. Sick of the waiting game, but unfortunately my top choice waitlisted me and still waiting on an interview from my number 2. Fortunately, I have an interview at my number 3 in a week, so pretty stoked about it! This app cycle is never going to end 🙁

It never seems like it will end. Annoying.

I had all my interviews finished by the end of November, so I just sat around waiting for the next 6 months for decisions and stuff that never happened. 👎

Good luck, I remember how annoying and stressful the whole thing was. It really sucked.

Samesies. Unless the beer is ridonkulously fruity, I usually don't even notice it until someone points it out and I actively try to notice it.

For pale ales, I love German beers like Paulaner and Weihenstephan weissbier (studied abroad in Germany, and getting half liters at a Hofbrauhaus is the best). I feel like I'm betraying my hometown microbrew obsession by saying that, but IPAs and darker beers from the PNW are my favorite.

1 - Not until June. Planning is picking up right now. It's annoying.

2 - Mainly just me staying on waitlists forever until I just gave up. I found an awesome apartment early and that just made me forget the other schools completely.

I tell it like it is. Didn't end well for me with my favorite schools.

The schools eventually sent me rejection letters, but the ones I really liked didn't officially send them until around July.

Good luck! I'm sure your interviews went much better than mine did.

Not especially.....one guy implied my mom is a drug addict and said I was stupid for some of the life choices I made.🙂
 
You guys are discussing beers so I must chime in. I'm not too big on IPAs, their way too hoppy for my tastes ( Inversion IPA, Tower 10, Noble) You guys probably haven't heard of them, unless you frequent the same pub I do 🙂. I do however, love Stone Pale Ale as it is quite delicious with just the right amount of hops for my tastes. My favorite beer in the world though is Fat Tire, oh how I love it so.
 
i welcome you with open arms. stone pale is one of the best beers, it's so delicious. i like IPA's the most, then pales, then stouts, then whatever.

I love the 90-minute, definitely in my top 5 beers. The 120 minute is too sweet. Raging ***** is an awesome Belgian style IPA. Sierra is a good go-to though, and I just discovered the Celebration Ale, it's really impressive. Obviously, I've grown a bit more fond of hops as the boyfriend has gone on an IPA run. He also loves Bear Republic Racer 5.

We did a tour of the Dogfish Head Brewery (awesome, and free tasting) and lunch at their brew pub. I want to go back. Philadelphia Brewing Company does free tastings every Saturday afternoon, give you a ton of beer, and the guys there are just awesome. We've adopted them as our go-to local beer, the heck with Yards.

A word of warning: If taking a picture of your food and posting it on the internet ever becomes more important to you than actually eating the food, you've made the horrifying and generally irreversible transition to hipster.

I'm pretty sure the posting of the food pics is more about letting other people know what insanely good food you're about to eat. I didn't think hipsters ate anyway, so they could fit into their skinny jeans.

If you're looking for some hot pre-med sexploits, I can honestly say that Cole's weird shoes thread is sexier than what's going on in the sex discussion. It's like watching turtles copulating. Interesting from a scientific standpoint, and ultimately kind of annoying and futile.

One of my most favorite beers ever! Torpedo is also good. (I love hops.)

I seem to only post here when there is talk of beer or baking.

Oh man, finally 100% done with my poster that I'm presenting tomorrow. Those stupid things are a ton of work (maybe because it was my first one and I had absolutely no idea what I was doing). Looks purty though! Has anyone presented a poster before at a conference? What are you supposed to say? Totally clueless 😀.

In other news, Black Ops is not as bad as I originally thought. It has a zombie mode that is AWESOME!

Usually I prep one shorter and one longer synopsis of what's on the poster - rationale, major experiment designs, an overview of the results, conclusions - depending on the interest level of the person. I also generally re-familiarize myself with the way all of the figures were obtained, in case someone asks. And when I did mine I asked my PI for some common questions we get about our research so I could be prepared. The first time someone comes to the poster is the hardest, but after a while you get into a flow.

And yeah, I know. I don't know why Joss ever even tries to work with Fox anymore. You know there are a few comics out that are set between the show and movie, and maybe after the movie, too. One is all about Wash and while I haven't read it, I know a spoiler about the end that seriously made me cry.
