Absolutely true on the sleep thing. I have kept some of my activities up - tourguiding, a weekly volunteer activity, and have delved more into outside interests (lots of cooking and reading.) Not to mention a full time job. I get bored when I don't have things to do so I've tried to keep a reasonably full schedule.

I loved Cartoon Guide to Becoming a doctor, I read the whole thing a few months ago. I've only read bits and pieces of Scutmonkey so far, but it's hilarious and generally insightful.

I hate when I can't tell if a poster is just a dick or actually trolling, though there's a lot of grey area there anyway.

so I was hanging out with my friends last night and it got me thinking, come august I move away for med school, everyones graduated, splitting up and looking to start a career. And it's all kind of sad, I mean living with some of these ppl for 4 years and then all of a sudden it's all over. I mean I'm stoked to go to med school but it just hit me what great things I'd be leaving behind. Anyone else feel the same?

you're not leaving anything behind. it's just what happens, college ends. enjoy it while you can.

You'll make friends in med school too, and no one says the end of college is the end of those friendships. It's just different.
 
It's bittersweet... I don't see many of my friends anymore (one close friend moved to China, another is moving to Australia today 😱) but then again, you don't want to be that guy that tries to be a college kid forever.

Plus, med school is College 2.0, where everyone is 21+! At least that's what I'm telling myself 😛

I felt the same way when I graduated. Fortunately for me, although I was moving away, all of my friends were staying in the same place, and I was only moving about a five-hour drive away. So I'd head back to visit them on some weekends. It helped to ease the transition, but in the end, we all move on.
 
I always try to keep in contact with 1 or 2 people from each stage of my life (hs, ug, work,etc). I still talk to the 4 people I was closest to in HS, and I chat with a few of my college buddies as well. My current group of friends are all about 20 years older than me. I'm actually quite excited to make new friends in med school. I know that probably sounds cheesy. :prof:

Alright, I'm back from a mini hiatus and I think I caught up with the recent posts in this thread: sweet smart phones, funny videos, people flying and getting stuck places because of snow, being sad to leave college friends behind. Whew.

As to gchatting, I pretty much never go on, but who wants to be my facebook friend and invite me to your group? I promise I won't invite you to 10000 random events (like some of my friends seem to love to do).

So I just got back from what will probably be my last interview. (Unless Stanford or Hopkins wanna send me some love... ha.) But it was pretty cool, the faculty member who interviewed me works as a clinical consultant for House and Grey's Anatomy. He knows all the secrets about the upcoming episodes but he's sworn to secrecy. Only in LA.

There's this poster that's been blowing up my PM inbox and I apparently can NOT tell them to ask their questions ON THE MCAT BOARD too many times. I'm just going to start ignoring them because they're not getting it.

Omg what a long day for me!!! 😀. Loved the school I visited today!!! New top choice!! Had great campus, faculty, and students. Would be lucky to go there. Got psychoanalyzed from my faculty psychiatrist interviewer 🙂eek: right?). Finally had a student interviewer who could tell me the low down on the school. Ended up liking everything about it and hope I end up going here (love NY!!!) In other news, it was $^$% cold today in NY. Fresh snow all over the place (pic up on FB), loved it! My sis actually made it here, after five of her flights got canceled. Stoked for a week of sightseeing and drinking haha. How is the rest of the 2015 crew doing?

who else on the east coast is suffering due to the cold, while I'm chillin in a tee shirt in 70 degree weather 😎

Sausage in burgers.. is it good? Gonna try it tomorrow. Tonight, gonna use the other half of the sausage to marinade with vegetables and hit it over steamed rice. Should be simple and good. Breakfast for dinner date friday or saturday 🙂

I'm in the cold (read: in my house with a fire roaring), but I'm not suffering. Also, the traffic (if you are where I think you are) is enough to make me not jealous.

I ended up doing the rice thing tonight cuz I'd rather have friends over for burgers later. It was actually pretty good. Very simple meal. Steamed rice, hit the sausage with some sweet+sour spicy BBQ marinade for 30 mins with the veggies and sauteed it then slapped it in with the steam rice. 🙂 Very pretty color in the end.

I feel for ya'll, Daisy and Duckie 🙁

I really doubt that, Trio. I've told them quite a few times they'd be better served actually posting on the MCAT forum. He still thinks I'm his own personal MCAT counselor.
