Did my first dissection today on a cadaver. We were studying the anatomy of the back and shoulder. It was so freaking awesome. We also had our first real lectures today on embryology and anatomy terminology and back and shoulder anatomy. Man, I love med school.

I'm tired, fool! I'm 36 weeks pregnant, we're hosting my in-laws, and I'm STILL kicking ass in gross anatomy. 😛

I find myself jealous of the table a few over from us with a an adorable little old lady that couldn't have been more than 80 pounds soaking wet. There's like no fat on her and all of her organs look healthy and everything about her is easy to find. That's weird, isn't it?

....yeah 🙁 going from OT school + full time rotations for 6 months to med school is kinda a big change. I've never been in the habit of studying everyday. I should probably start doing that.
 
On the other hand, our house is a complete friggin' disaster and I'm about to just start hoping that magical fairies will show up and clean it. While they're at it, they can finish the nursery, too.

On a more positive note: went out with the class today and saw some people hook up. It's gonna get awwwkkwardddd 😛

Also, talked my way into a 21+ bar. Felt good. Downside: almost everyone treats me like a baby.

Totally studying rampage here too. But last night I took the night off for some PT and relaxation.

We weren't on the first page anymore people, we need to do better. Too bad anatomy, histo, biochem, and whatever else we're all taking is draining all of our energy and brain power. :smack:

How's med school for everyone? I have an anatomy test tomorrow, but I feel pretty good about it.
 
Biochem is deceiving. I don't think he wants us to know a lot of detail, but there's a lot of detail we could potentially learn... I need to stop thinking of cofactors and EJCs and what not as "thingies" and actually learn their names or something.

Biochem is honestly one of the silliest classes ever. It requires literally no thinking and is nothing more than memorization of a bunch of mechanisms and proteins. What a waste of time.
