I'm a trendsetter
You don't say...
is that a thing?
if it's not a thing, I'll make it a thing, b****.
They keep asking us to explain "why" things exist, even though it's pretty obvious that these things exist because that's how they evolved. (i.e. they exist because they exist)Biochem is honestly one of the silliest classes ever. It requires literally no thinking and is nothing more than memorization of a bunch of mechanisms and proteins. What a waste of time.

I would guess the "why" question is intended to get you thinking what are the advantages of said thing existing.
Bitch? Who you calling bitch?
I just don't like the wording. These things are, that is the fact. We don't know WHY HIF-1 proteins have ODD domains, we just know what the ODD domain does and what it affects.I would guess the "why" question is intended to get you thinking what are the advantages of said thing existing.

"Why" is the one word I would use to describe medical school so far.
*random fact*
*why?*
*because of this*
*but...why?

that's for me and you and everyone else on sdn.I thought the standard answer was "we met on the interview trail," no?
that's for me and you and everyone else on sdn.
GlassHalf though, she is in a league of awesomeness all on her own and deserves therefore an equally awesome answer. That and the people she is meeting actually know me, and therefore, they would be curious about where on the interview trial we actually meet... which is unfortunately no where. 🙁

I think I have finally mastered the heart...

The most interesting ER doc in the world:
His precordial thump is so effective, it converts all arrhythmias. And cures fibromyalgia.![]()
I was actually kind of surprised at the way it looked inside. Not what I expected.Heart anatomy is lame. 🙁

We're now starting the head and neck in our anatomy class. It's our last part of the body, so we're almost done! I think we only have 8 more days doing dissection. It hasn't been bad but I'm REALLY looking forward to being done with the dissection and all.

I'm just hoping babby stays baking until after the final... which is 2 days before my due date.![]()

Eek! At least if babby comes right after your final, you won't have to study much in the first few weeks post-delivery.The course director (who has been teaching at the school for 50 years) assured me it wouldn't be a problem and we would figure something out, but it'll undoubtedly be a PITA. It would be MUCH easier if the kid just stays put until afterwards. Considering Chicklet surely would have come after her due date had I not been induced, I'm hopeful.![]()
