Looks like Maubs and me will be volunteering at a student run free clinic on the same day.

We might also be having a slumber party the night before at my parent's.

I need to remember to bring a camera 😀

I may need to reconsider my plans... 😏

i've heard that is hard position to make babby

Maubs - but we can braid each other's hair! =PP

That's an old wives' tale, I'm pretty sure. But to be honest, when you are this close to HAVING babby, many positions get difficult, or just plain uncomfortable.

At least he didn't bring anybody home like mine does every other day 😡

Definitely true. I'm paying $1025. 🙁
Is that after you split the rent with the gf or before?

I have 2 other roomies. I love how much I pay, and I don't mind that my guy roomie has had 2-3 friends over vacationing 2 out of the last 4 weeks, and had his "gf" [not sure] over friday night. haha. EAR PLUGS RULE THE WORLD!

G/f doesn't pay rent since she doesn't have a job. When she gets one, though... then I'll be rollin' in the dough.

That's cuz you're in Chicago. Rent is astronomical in Chitown.

Dude, that's my house payment!

So there are these houses a block away from where we live that are pretty new - I'd say no older than 3 years. They're tall and skinny like row houses, but they're separated from each other so you do get some semblance of a yard. I think they're 3 bed, 2 bath, and around 2500 sq. ft.. One was for sale and I was predicting that they might be around $300-400k (keep in mind we live about 20-30 blocks south of downtown proper). I was quite surprised to see that they cost $750k. 😱😱😱 And that's AFTER they had been dropped in price in the past few months.

That could buy you an EXTREMELY nice home in the burbs of Dallas (where I'm from).

Welcome to the windy city... some of the homes in the gold coast neighborhood where my brother used to live... start at 2 million. Now THAT'S messed up.

So true. One of the most wonderful things about Texas is that land here is dirt cheap and plentiful. And we have some really pretty areas outside of the cities where the land is firesale cheap.

Yea, my folks almost moved to Dallas right when the market crash happened. Our home about 90 blocks from downtown was valued at about the size of a super mansion in Texas. It's 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, one level [with lower level]... but on 1.5x lot. We bought it at an estate sale so pretty much paid for the land, but my parents refused to get less than their home was worth... hence why we never moved, and why I am not at super cheap Texas med schools. 🙁

p.s. Nice that you are waiting for your gf to find a job. I hope she does soon. 🙂

It really is. What a 3000 sq. ft. house/condo costs here could get you a small mansion (6000-7000 sq. ft.) an hour or so outside of Dallas or an extremely nice, albeit smaller, house in a great neighborhood 20 minutes or so outside Dallas. If I was born and raised in a big city I could probably not be so shocked at real estate prices, but I honestly couldn't see myself living in an urban area long-term knowing what I could have in a suburb or less urban area for the same cost. The price differences are too substantial.

Haha, I hope she does too! I think she's getting bored just hanging around the house all day...
