Class of 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Are you guys reading anything good right now? I have read half of 'too big to fail' in a day + 1/2 ... its such a fast engaging story. Obviously its a subject I am interested in but I thought i'd see what else is on peoples plate.
i just finished "better". i need to pick something else up

I liked the Atul Gawande books. The last one about checklists seemed too gimmicky for my interests. We get it, you've been a doctor and made all these freak realizations about the workplace that existed long ago. I prefer a good story to be honest. Gawande told good ones in his first book Complications.

I also have finished Atlas Shrugged, clearly a fan. Loved it, most important book I have ever read. I held off reading it since high school because at that time I was really into socialism haha. I recall reading Marx in senior year HS and thinking this was the way!!! Times have changed.

yeah i was thinking about checking complications outs, but i didn't really find him to be that good of a writer.

in which countries have you lived or been raised? I just got back from the motherland but have lived in the US my whole life which isn't so exciting.

motherland being india, haha

haha too revealing for the internets. our southern neighbors mostly

i had to look that acronym up on urbandictionary. This is painful nowdays when I realize I dont know the lingo people use anymore online. But yeah its close to 1200 pages and I read it over a few weeks but I really did not think the story itself was 'great' since the message and ideas were very significant to me. I would not recc the book to anybody who was after a great writer or story that blows them away. Atlas reads slow.

i bet those ladies could give geekchicks squirt guns a run for their money

They're bigger, sure, but I bet that's all they do. Shooting people is an ability reserved only for the currently nursing. I can't do it anymore either.

not a big fan of philosophical treatises

also, what the heck is an SDN friend? i accept the 'requests' but have no idea what it's supposed to accomplish

Dude you can get freinz on SDN???! im friending you now

yeah i'm not really sure either, but i feel like it builds a sense of community.

Well sometimes you get in touch with people outside of SDN by posting on here. Er I really am trying to get in touch with class of 2014'ers online for my med school in hopes that I could possibly plan dorming in advance. There is an orientation in july near me so that can work too.

HAHAHAHAHAHAH bleargh that MAKES MY NIGHT.

unfortunately i am the most internetsy person of all my friends and none of the gaga fans will appreciate it.

everyone loves this one, though

My bachelor's is in theatre, and I took every stage combat class the professor offered, and wound up TAing Stage Combat 1 either junior or senior year. SOOOOOO much fun!

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooo that sounds fun
Usually is, but lately the teacher has been going over the same stuff over and over and over and it's starting to annoy me. I don't feel like I'm getting my money's worth. And it's not going over it like to refine technique, it's going over it to teach people who decide to skip every other class and expect to learn everything -_-'

That sounds awesome! I used to love doing fight choreography. I was really into martial arts when I was younger.

The fact that I'm an Advanced Actor-Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors is totally going on my EC list for AMCAS. Unarmed, single sword, quarterstaff, and rapier & dagger.

Damn. I'm only a 6.49 =(

Does yelling at cops today for being *******es count as being that cool? Because I definitely could have gotten very hurt.
