No I'm not applying there...I just want the info. I am thirsty for new knowledge🙂 Actually, if you just tell me what books you're using, that would be enough.

ok thats good to know. i did apply last year just to MD schools and never had this issue. blah...so frustrating
 
1. I said s*** this morning when Chicklet dribbled a bunch of milk on the floor, and then she repeated it 6 or so times. Whoops.

2. The hubs just ordered us Droid incredibles. I thought we were getting the slightly older model of Droid that's BOGO, but apparently not. I am partially excited and partially annoyed that he spent the extra money.

I got my hair cut on Wednesday but I think I need to go either back to where I went (Hair Cuttery, I was in a hurry) or go to a nicer place and have them fix something. I got it cut with a side part in mind, and it looks good that way, but unless I part it exactly how it was when she cut it, it looks stupid. My friends are telling me I should be able to part it however I want, regardless of how it was parted when it was cut.

I'm so hair challenged. 🙁

oh and since i know at least baller and rhino are cali applicants, if you guys get secondaries/interviews at UC davis and need some help or just a place to crash if you dont want a hotel im sure me and my roomates wouldnt mind! 🙂. Found out today that UCLA is basically done for, kinda dissapointed but i guess med school is med school no matter what. Waitlists are awful dont listen to anyone who says they have good movement haha, thats bad info i always see on sdn that is rarely true.

Those things look, incredible. Don't know any other way to put it, so excuse the pun or repeat of the actual name of the product. Damn good marketing. For real, when my contract is up next year I'll probably end up looking into a droid product.

Oh HELL no! 😡

I appreciate the new shiny. Here's the thing, though...

The phones we have now, he NEVER friggin' uses his. Hardly ever. Most of the time, he doesn't have it on him, or he just doesn't actually have it ON, or he doesn't answer anyway because the ringer is screwy. He didn't even HAVE a cell phone until less than 2 years ago, when I was about 6 months KTFU with Chicklet and I told him he needed one for when I went into labor if he wasn't home. So now he wants to upgrade to the cutting-edge, brand-spanking-new smartphone? If he doesn't use the shiz out of it, I will hurt him.

I'm uneasy because we want to buy a house in the next year and I don't like seeing money that could go towards a down payment going towards a fancy-pants version of something he barely uses now.

He swears he'll actually use the smartphone... we'll see. He justified it thoroughly to me, and I know it's a great phone, but it's still an extra $200 we didn't need to spend.

They moderator-ated me a few months ago, first on MCAT then Pre-Allo. You can see I joined SDN about 2 1/2 years ago, but I was gone for awhile and came back this past winter since I'm actually applying this year.

Okay, when my first two transcripts showed up, AAMC sent me e-mails between 2 and 3PM. I'm REALLY hoping the last two show up today, and I'm waiting for notification. I'm gonna be sad if they don't. I know they'll get mail tomorrow but I don't expect anyone will be filing it.

Yeah, I'm getting pretty excited/anxious to submit. Just want to use a bit more feedback from the PS reader list and hear back from a friend of mine who's a writer/editor. I wanted to be one of those people who spent a month or two writing the PS, but I've been working on it everyday for practically two weeks now, so I can't imagine doing that for another four weeks (besides wanting to submit this month). Its not as if I haven't been thinking about it for longer though and playing with writing ideas and topics in my head. Can't believe its finally approaching. Might as well go over my activities list/descriptions again, and finalize that in the interim.

Then I get to finish my thesis while I wait for apps to verify and eventually secondaries to come rolling in.
 
Anyone else getting anxious for secondaries? Feels weird to have nothing to do while you wait for them 🙁
 
You can look up the secondary prompts from last year on the 2009-2010 SSD board. Most of them will be very similar.

Stupid question, if the secondary has multiple essays, do you choose one or do you do them all?

some are optional and they will say it. However more often then not optional doesnt really mean "optional" if you know what i mean. Sometimes it is but more often then not...

I got a copy of last years secondaries for the school I'm applying to and have most of them answered already. I haven't applied yet - I'm hopeful. 😀
 
Sometimes I want to do ped-onc.

Then I think I'm BSC for even thinking about it and my kids will hate me for being a clingy nutter whenever I'm home with them.

I tell myself I'm going to start them, and end up reading or watching TV instead. The first few on my list aren't available until the 15th or so, so I figure I'll use that time to relax.

Before I had Chicklet I used to think, "I don't think there's a way in hell I could ever do that. Not a freakin' chance."

Now that I've had Chicklet, I think, "I don't think there's a way in hell I could ever do that, but if it was with in my power to keep any family from suffering like, for example, the Marsh family, I might." That might make me sound like a tool, but it's completely true.

Crap, I'm getting sniffly.
 
Dear pre-med diary,

today was yet another day of nitty-gritty clinical care added to my years of clinical experience. Not so shockingly, old people can get very sick and need a lot of assistance with... things.

Today's reminders: I am developing a gentle touch and a strong stomach. The more bad things I smell and see the less they will bother me later. Medicine is not pretty.

Daily goal: look into areas besides geriatric care.
